Great pub. Great drinks. Friendly staff. Smoke free but vape friendly. The owner is a swell guy, too. What’s not to like? Can get crowded and loud, but generally those who frequent this bar are very easy going and friendly.

Great beer bar in Stillwater. Less of a college bar than most of the other bars in the area. I’m in the area several times a year for business and this is where I go to have a few beers. Nice atmosphere, great beer selection, and good location. Pretty bartenders are also a plus.

Visited on: multiple dates from 2012 to present In the depressingly impoverished ecosystem of Stillwater bars, Finnegan’s occupies a unique niche. It’s the one bar that isn’t: 1. a smoking bar, like the ones on the Strip and Stonewall, AND 2. expensive, like Zannotti’s, AND 3. dead inside, like Ibiza. Thus, it occupies a sort of happy medium among Stillwater bars, which is why it’s probably the bar most frequented by my OSU graduate student friends. There are some decent drinks at good prices(including the tasty Black Cherry Kool-Aid). There are also free pool and shuffleboard tables. That said, while the bar doesn’t allow smoking inside, people can still smoke at the tables right outside the door, meaning that those going inside may have to pass through a cloud of smoke to do so. Also, while the place is definitely cleaner-feeling than Murphy’s or Stonewall, it still feels kinda dirty and gross inside; in terms of environment it’s not exactly at Zannotti’s level.

A nice addition to downtown. Solid beer selection and a pool table. Dive Bar feel on the good side.

Not a bad bar — they’ve actually got a decent beer selection(as opposed to many other places in Stillwater). Plus, it’s non-smoking(there’s a smoking area outside) so you won’t reek of cigarettes after an hour or so hanging out there. There’s usually available seating, and the noise level is pretty reasonable(i.e., they don’t usually blast annoying music). The most frustrating thing about the bar, though, is how long it takes to get a drink. There’s never more than two bartenders working at a time, and most nights there’s just one bartender. There’s usually a line by the register and, even though you may only be 3rd or 4th in line, expect to sometimes wait over 15 minutes for your beverage. After a few times dealing with this, you learn to adjust; if you’re planning on having 3 drinks that night, order all three at once, pay, and don’t leave a tab open(obviously, you have to wait in the same incredibly slow line to close out your tab). During St. Patrick’s Day there was a small cash-only second bar, and that really sped up the service. However, this begs the question: why don’t they always have the cash bar?

One of my favorite places to grab a drink in Stillwater. It’s off the strip so that’s a big plus.

My friend and I looked like two foreigners at this bar, HA! We came to this place because they had pool tables. Everyone seemed to gravitate around the little fooze ball table which is conveniently show cased by the front window for all to see. No one told us that the pool table was free, so image how dumb we felt trying to shove quarters into the machine. A group sitting close by were staring and didn’t even bother to tell us where to find the balls. THANKS Stillwater! It’s basically a run of the mill dive bar in a college town. Loved that it’s a non-smoking bar. Other then that, nothing special. They have a pretty good list of beers on tap. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for the Boondock Saints poster.

This review is for a bar in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Important to keep that in mind during the review. Beer? Check Alcohol? Check Off the Strip? Check No filled to rafters with drunk undergraduate students? Check No Smoking? CHECK This place was my haven in Stillwater. A place to meet up with friends after a long work week, meet new people, have good conversations, and enjoy a game of pool. The crowd here is eclectic but all looking to have a good time. The beer selection is the best in Stillwater(over 30 on tap) and constantly evolving. The liquor selection is among the best you will find in the area. The prices are CHEAP, even for Stillwater. No food here but the management doesn’t care if you bring in food or have it delivered. Free games are available for your enjoyment(darts, pool tables, shuffleboard, scrabble, chess, etc.) You can’t go wrong with visiting the Fighting Goat!

Always happy to see nightlife in DT Stillwater improve. Finnegan’s is a welcome addition to Main St! Still working a few kinks out with décor and menu but the plus is that you won’t come out smelling like smoke.
