The owner is really a great person. Its a really nice open space which sometimes doesn’t happen in yarn shops. Lots of natural light assuming you go during daylight. The staff goes out of their way to help you but not at all pushy.

I love this place! As a new knitter they have helped me tremendously.
The staff always takes the time to help and answer questions. The shop is very well stocked and they are happy to order yarn if I have a special request.
It is located in an old historic building in Downtown Stillwater with great parking right next door. This shop is not only welcoming to it’s regulars it is well worth the time for a destination visit.

I used to love this store until I took a class & returned for a question. Although I was helped right away my question seemed to upset the woman working (not one of the two helpful and lovely owners). She ended up raising her voice, telling me I did something wrong & then conceded that there was indeed something inconsistent between the pattern & the class. I will not be returning to shop there as there are many other choices for all things knitting. Nice shop, nice selection of yarn, but poor service.

What a great shop! I wish I lived close enough to be a regular. Everyone was super nice and they seemed to really have it all and something for every type of knitter.
There was a class or a group meeting while I was looking around the store, and while I was checking out they had 3 stacks of books for their upcoming book groups — all of this looked and sounded so fun! If you live in Stillwater, enjoy this place!
As far as selection, they have great brands and some that I haven’t seen before but liked. They also carry a selection of fabric in the back so if you sew or want/​need a lining or a border, there are some cute ones back there.
I walked out of there with Coastal Knits (I thought I’d have to order online but have now saved on shipping!), some Malabrigo yarn — I love seeing these in person and getting my squoosh on, and a yarn bowl (beautiful and they have a bunch of these — again great to see and buy in person!).

A cute shop that is right at home in Downtown Stillwater.
If you love to knit, they have oodles of yarn, needles, roving etc. There are plenty of big windows to let the light in so you can see the yarn.
There is a big class area off to the side so you wont feel cramped while learning.
There is a parking lot right outside (free from oct-​april).
The best part are the comfy couches in the back. Just right for a foot sore husband.

This is the kind of place where you just want to hang out and soak up the crafty goodness of it all. My friend and I took a sewing machine 101 class here and it was a great value-​plus, now I’m no longer terrified of my sewing machine! The selection of both yarn and fabric was impressive, and they had some cute notions and gift items as well. This is a must stop at store anytime I’m in Stillwater!

Wonderful shop!
The staff was welcoming and friendly. Available to help or answer questions but not snotty or shoving products down my throat.
The store was organized with lots of yummy yarns. I love that they carry Three Irish Girls and some others that I can’t resist. So yummy. I also bought some more Mochi because they had a great one skein pattern for a kids hat that I couldn’t resist. (I don’t even have kids — but I still had to have it.)
Bonus? They carry a lot of really neat fabric. I think this is the store Crafty Planet is trying to be. This place has as much if not more hip fabric and they carry a much better yarn selection.
They have a lot of fun stuff too — like Darn Knit Anyway bags for your knitting accessories at REALLY good prices — and a lot of other awesome knitting kitschy accessories.
I really want to spend some quality time here again soon. Love this place!

Eau Claire, WI
This is an absolutely lovely store. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. A very well rounded variety of yarn and the colors are all neatly organized which makes for easier shopping. The samples are adorable and the gift area in the front is perfect if you’re looking to give a handmade item but don’t have the time to make it yourself. The classroom looks amazing and I wished I lived closer to Stillwater so I could actually join in. The store was definitely worth the drive from Eau Claire and I will be back! Such a great shop!

Definitely a cute shop, lots of already made things in the front. Which is great for gift giving. They have a decent supply of yarn. I couldn’t figure out their system, but I wasn’t particularly looking for any thing. They had some fun colors and yarn you don’t see just everywhere. Will definitely go back once I make a dent in my mountain of yarn at home.

Wow, wow, wow. This place is so cute and really has got it right in terms of product, décor, classes, staff and location. Stillwater is such a cute little place to go and spend a day and this adorable shop tops that experience off.
I’ve been there twice and both times the staff have been exceptionally friendly, chatty and willing to help. Looks like there’s a great classroom facility so you don’t have classes taking up room in the shop itself. Very good variety of yarn and a small selection of very cool fabrics/​sewing misc. Highly recommended!
