My husband has spoiled me by fixing smoked and pit foods here at home. I truly understand that going to BBQ places is an experience as everyone is different and you can’t please everyone’s taste. You go to experience what this person has to offer. Saying that we tried Bob’s 3 different times. The french fries are excellent and I enjoy the flavor of the BBQ sauce. The BBQ burger was very tasty if you can get past the very dense burger meat. For the proteins that they offer you only seem to get the flavor of smoke; no rubs or sauce or even seasonings such as salt and pepper… just smoke. It isn’t bad but not what we prefer at all. But basically the reason we stopped going was that they were very overpriced for just food that we thought was okay. Also the time we ate inside we had to wait over 35 minutes to get our food which was way too long. The staff seems confused and overwhelmed although they are really nice. I’ll just stick with buying from those who do the fundraisers up the street. It’s quicker and you get what you pay for. Good effort from Bob’s and they did an awesome job turning an old garage into a nice looking business. Just too slow and not my taste at all.

I have tried the bbq burger and it was just ok. Way too salty for me. The pit beef is shaved way to thin to hold the flavor. I think that would be much better sliced thicker. The rolls are always good and I like the way they decorated the inside.

If I’m being honest we were not impressed. None of our kids would even eat the macaroni and cheese. I drained out at least ¼ c. of oil out of the 3 small sides we had. It just poured out. What kid won’t eat mac n cheese? The meat tasted strongly of lighter fluid or gasoline. Of the other 3 sides we got(baked beans, cole slaw and corn pudding) none of them were any good and weren’t eaten. We did however like the chicken wings and home cut fries. Maybe they should open a wing joint. The key lime pie wasn’t good at all but the drinks were refreshing. Thank God cause we needed something to cleanse our pallets. The people were friendly though and it’s a cute little place. Id love to see them make it. I think a good BBQ place in town here would do well. Perhaps they’ll take another look at their recipes!

Holy smoke! Waaaaaaay over did the smoke. And I mean WAY. Smoke is supposed to enhance food– not be the main course. Any nuance or subtlety in this meat doesn’t get a chance to express itself. Come on– you want that smokey flavor– but not an ashtray. Ridiculous amount of smoke on everything– the ribs, brisket, even the beans. If not for the shape, we couldn’t even tell what we were eating. It all ends up tasting the same. I literally smell like a fireplace damper now. I’m actually sad to report this. I really wanted a great BBQ place in town. The sauce was smooth and silky but again– smoke inferno! What are they thinking? All this great meat totally overwhelmed by smoke! I smoke at home and can’t imagine how you can infuse THAT much smoke in any piece of food! Without the overabundance of smoke, I might have granted three stars. Aside from the smoke, it reeked of overcompensation for lack of authenticity. I think authentic BBQ joints focus on quality of meat and cooking style rather than just flooding with auxiliary flavor. Plenty of sauce, yet everything was still dry. If you can get past the smoke and seasoning, the sauce does have a good underlying, deep flavor– it’s too bad they hide it. Nothing was great. The ribs were closer in texture to those big tough, chewy ribs you get on a Chinese buffet than the juicy, fall-off-the-bone ribs you hope for at a good rib joint. The pulled pork was so dense and thick– there was very little texture to it. Entirely too much sauce. Rather«goopy» and over seasoned. The brisket was very dry and roughly cut– not nice slices. Both sandwiches were served on cheap hamburger rolls. Wouldn’t you think a nice hardy kaiser roll would make more sense especially knowing most of your orders are carryout and susceptible to getting soggy? The bread was so overwhelmed, it was almost superfluous. Everything was over salted which became most apparent when I woke up 2:00 in the morning dying of thirst. Everything was so overbearing I felt like my palate was assaulted by flavor. A smokey, salty, spicy, acidic punch in the taste buds. I think I even caught a hint of lighter fluid flavor now and then(BIG faux pas for BBQ). The sides were low quality– skinny onion rings and tiny fries that looked like they were scraped off the bottom of a GOOD boardwalk fry bin at the end of the day. Everything seemed like ambitious attempts by somebody who didn’t quite get BBQ. I got the sense the pungent flavorings were an attempt to hide lack of expertise. If we blast you with enough flavor and smoke, you won’t notice that we have no idea how to slow cook meats. The preemptive antacids I took afterwards were probably a lifesaver. Gripe number two– how can anybody in this day and age not have SOME kind of internet presence? I tried incessantly to find them for an on-line menu to no avail. I actually gave up until my wife decided to call. This is a deal breaker today. Don’t NOT be on-line — even if you just have a little landing page. For crying out loud– you went through the trouble of opening a business– take 10 minutes and make yourself a FREE WordPress page with a picture of your amateur, generic looking menu on it. You will readily be skipped over for Chinese takeout without it. Trust me. I couldn’t resist including a pic of the menu to show what a wasted opportunity it was to express brand. It could belong to anyone– not so much as a logo. You have a nice little place there– don’t have a menu that looks like you sell food from the back of a truck. Please– step it up a notch guys– I want some BBQ in town but I’m not doing this again until things change. You’ve got potential, but you’ve got some refining to do. I like to give a place a couple of chances, but I honestly don’t think I can do it again. It was a challenge to get through it. And this wasn’t simply an «off» night. This is just their style. Think my review over emphasized the smoke? Then you know how I felt.

I love pit beef and I love ribs so when I saw this place driving in the area with my wife we just had to stop. I was really looking forward to eating here since it isn’t a chain. Chains are good but they get old at times, know what I mean? The menu is pretty good sized and offers your usual sides, sides you’d expect at a pit beef /BBQ place. We tried the pit beef sandwich, split a half rack of baby back ribs, mac & cheese and green beans. The pit beef was the star of the show. It wasn’t too dry and had a nice smokey flavor. Adding some horse radish and BBQ sauce brought it to another level. The ribs were ok, nothing to write home about. The sides were just ok too. If you like pit beef give this place a try. The pit beef is really good. Thank you for reading my review. This review is based off of my personal experience and opinion.

Got a pulled pork and fries. They were both pretty good but a little more expensive than what I was expecting.

Great Food! Very fast service since I was last in. I ordered Catering from here. It was amazing. Everyone was raving about how great everything I ordered, which was pit turkey and beef. Great place to give a try if your in town! Do not forget to get some BBQ sauce. That is home made by the restaurant and is amazing!

This review is based on one visit. My only purchase was a rack of ribs. But like a pair of double 36 C breast on a finely cut woman, what a rack they were. Well cooked, served quickly, and friendly service. The meat literally was falling off the bones and seasoned well with the sauce. The cost was similar to most other places. For the amount of meat it was a great buy. Everyone there was white and there was only one customer around that might have been gay. But they seemed fine with serving him. Overall — Go!

I visited this place last night and had their half rack of ribs. Meat falling of the bone, homemade bbq sauce, homemade fresh coleslaw. Holy cow. Delicious!

Living so close I was very excited to try this place and I really wanted to like it. Sadly my brisket sandwich was a huge disappointment. Dry, crumbly beef on a hamburger bun. Smoking meat is tough and beef is the toughest, so I’m usually pretty forgiving. Maybe some of the other meats are better(hamburgers, hot dogs and pork) but sadly I can’t recommend this place based on my first impression.

Family lives pit beef and ham, I’m not much of a meat eater but WOW! This place is great! Love the old barn décor and atmosphere. Food is amazing and they don’t stop at pit sandwiches, they have a large menu to choose from. This is a great place to eat. A little pricey for the area but after you try it I guarantee you can’t stay away.

I have been waiting a while for this place to open! Popped in and got the large Beef Brisket sammy with onion and cole slaw on it, with fresh cut fries. Everything was great and well worth the wait. The staff was great and the décor is really well put together. Can’t wait to try the pork and ribs! Needless to say, I will be crushing this place quite I bit!
