Great food. A nice restaurant. Great prices. Oh, by the way, the menu you are looking on in Unilocal,is incorrect. It’s best for you to go over there and check out their valid menu. I recommend that you should try this place out! I’m giving them 5 out of 5 stars.

Hong Kong Kitchen never disappoints. With fresh ingredients, healthy oils and no MSG, Chef Michael creates flavorful dishes without the hangover that often accompanies other Chinese food. Try the hot sour soup which is unlike any hot sour soup I’ve ever had.

Pros: –excellent pork fried rice –hot can be different levels… I went as extreme as they go and it was HOT on the Generals Chicken. You can taste the heat too… A fresh habanero flavor. No where else have I had this:) –all the food was high quality and delicious with exceptions noted below… Cons: –IMPORTANT: smaller portions. They take a standard container and only fill halfway with meat. Then a quarter way with vegetables(mostly onion and celery). The the final quarter is open space. A rip off I’m my eye. –sweet and sour sauce is mostly sour –the owners pinch pennies to the extreme. Not only small portions but they charge for everything including fortune cookies:( –THEE hardest lady to understand… EVER and they don’t begin cooking until you get there. Strange. –cash only Overall good but I will make the drive to St. Joe from now on to get my money’s worth. Or the Martins Grocery across the street has AWESOME fresh Generals Chicken for $ 7 a pound!

Without a doubt the best Chinese food in southwestern Michigan. I used to teach ESL in Chicago’s Chinatown, so I’ve had authentic Chinese food quite a bit, and this is on par. Fresh veggies, meals spiced and cooked to order. My family, who lives in Detroit, say that HKK has ruined Chinese food for them, and they always insist on eating at HKK when they visit. My all time favorite(speaking as a gal who loves the combination of savory and sweet) are the Cheese Wontons, with an apricot sweet and sour sauce, or hot(HOT!) mustard if that is your thing. The Peking Pork is amazing. The Roast Pork Appetizer is good for a meal in and of itself, with a helping of steamed rice. The family is from Hong Kong, so their food is more Cantonese than Mandarin, as a few people pointed out, but it is A++.

Maybe Non Mandarin Entrees The Mo Shu pork I got was more Cantonese taste with plum sauce served aside; was asked served rice or pancakes. The orange beef was sautéed vegetables with few shredded orange skin; vinegary, worst orange beef in my life. The tiny pot stickers were alright. Won ton egg drop soup was sub-par. The skewer Teriyaki chicken was probably the most flavorful. Very slow in serving food to the only customer on a slow Sunday late evening. Only 4 tables in the restaurant for service; other few was for their own personal use.

did NOT like it here at all. i couldn’t even finish my food because it was meh. 1) ordered the«hot and sour soup.» i put this in quotes because it is NOT hot and sour soup. it is hot vinegar water with drops of chili oil, shredded carrots, some bamboo shoots, and one shred of chicken. no tofu, no mushroom. did not look anything like . i had two spoons’ worth and was done. i put it to the side but could still smell the strong vinegar scent wafting about. 2) ordered the spicy hunan tofu dish. the sauce it came in was VERY thick and goopy, and tasted off somehow. in addition to my dish being extremely salty, it had a weird flavor to it. oaky? it tasted like wood or something. regardless, it was all very soupy, and the portion was meager for the price. came with a side of chewy rice. like others have said, it’s cash only. i really wanted to like this place, given the ratings and location, but i was sorely disappointed. so sad. =( oh yeh, and when we came in, all but 2 tables were dirty with used drinking glasses and other undesirables.

This is the BEST chinese food I have ever eaten. I have been going here for years and all during that time I have never found anyplace that makes better chinese food. The waitress has the most incredible memory and remembers most customers orders even if they have not stopped in for years. I recommend this restaurant highly.

Chinese restaurants, been to one been to them all. Not quite! The Hong Kong Kitchen serves up fare that you don’t ordinarily find at your hog heaven buffets with the same olé stir fry. The Tsang family are from Hong Kong and bring you their own twist of what you might find if you traveled to Hong Kong. Okay, so there is no bbq pork hanging in the front window nor are there carts of dim sum passing by your table. They do however make everything to order AFTER you’ve placed your order, not simply scoop up something that was cooked a while ago. It doesn’t get much fresher than that. They create your dishes with your health and well being in mind. You won’t find an ounce of MSG in this place, they simply refuse to use it. Want something extra healthy, try their soups. You won’t find a can of soup base anywhere, because they make it the old fashioned way. Quite simply, its their family serving yours. If they are busy, please be patient. Its a small family owned business, not your run of the mill heat and serve. If you stop in for lunch or grab dinner, bring along some cash. They do not accept credit or debit cards.

I think I speak for several people in the area when I say Order the Honey Garlic Wings! The Pork Fried Rice is out of this world too!

Based on the reviews I was expecting a better meal. The chicken I got was far too salty and otherwise didn’t have much flavor. I may give it another try, but was unimpressed the first time around.

My wife and I just went there based on some of my co-workers’ reviews. The food was definitely fresh, the service was sufficient, but the quantity of food and prices were a bit off. Expensive for the small amount of food you get.

Some of the best chinese food in the area, not greasy like many of the others, very healthly tasting. And the spicy items are spicy unlike other chinese places i have been to. Only downside is they dont take credit cards i dont carry cash or check and that stops me from going there more offen.
