As per the other reviews, this place definitely takes advantage. But, when you’re standing outside your house in 18 degree weather locked out of your house, what option do you have – break a window or pay the hefty price? When I called, the guy was straight forward and quoted me $ 30 for the service call, and depending on the type of door lock, pricing starts at $ 25. The actual service guy called 5 minutes later and confirmed my address and his estimated time of arrival. Upon arrival, the guy was friendly and quoted me $ 175 to unlock the door. I signed off on the pricing and my front door was opened in 30 seconds. One advantage is he picked my lock so I won’t have to buy a new deadbolt, the scary disadvantage is anyone with the right tools can pick a lock. Lesson learned, leave a spare key with a neighbor! I would use this company again if I was on a jam, but perhaps negotiate better pricing as $ 200 was a bit steep.

I was disgusted by the service provided by Sterling Locksmith. My parents came to visit and locked their keys in the car while checking out of their hotel. I called SL and spoke with a very nice man who quoted $ 50 to open the lock. When the technician arrived he quoted $ 205. When my parents were shocked, he backed down to $ 100, and said they wouldn’t find it cheaper on Labor Day. Of course, they quoted $ 50 to open it on Labor Day. I feel disgusted that this business took advantage of my family, and see from another review that it has happened before.

Called yesterday to have the lock changed on the front door. I was quoted one price but when the guy came out the price doubled. Not good business to pull the bait and switch in a dire situation. I will not recommend them if they are not consistent with their pricing.
