Persian Market & Bakery

Visited Persian Market and Bakery two months ago. The freshly baked bread was good. Also purchased a dry packaged curry mix. I was about to make it when I was lucky enough to notice that it was marked Use by 2013. It’s almost 2016! I tossed the rest of my order. Unless you buy just the fresh bread, it’s not safe to shop at Persian Market and Bakery.

Take it from a Persian: this place is dirty, overpriced and everything baked other than the barbari bread is no good. The produce is all half-​wilted and the owner seems to have hired some rude cashiers who don’t seem to speak English or Persian, which makes ordering things a little difficult. Did I mention that everything is far less delicious, and more overpriced, and way filthier than the place all the Persians shop at in Vienna?
Our culture has much better things to offer than this, trust me. If you’ve never had much Persian food before or haven’t been to many other Persian bakeries or stores, you may think this place is OK. It’s not at all, and it’s why very few people in the Persian community shop here anymore.

Went in there to buy some Persian herbs and spices. The woman who waited on me was rude. She acted like she didn’t want to serve me. I took it as kind of racist. May go back to see if it happens again.

The two items I bought were more expensive than other stores I have shopped before. I did not try their fresh baked bread, but I am sure it is good. I needed to get more items but every thing i wanted was lot more expensive than I was willing to pay for it.

Delicious selection of loose leaf persian tea. They sell freshly baked bread too. Persian sweets, teapots and spices are also offered. impressed by the variety.

Marvelous store! Great selection of Persian items and sweets as well as the most delicious breads, often available directly from the oven. Friendly people at the counter. This market has a long history of good service to the community.

This ethnic Persian market is a great place to buy fresh Persian breads! Plus you can stock up on other exotic items from the middle east.
