I’ve been driving here from DC for six years and don’t trust anyone else with my hair or eyebrows. Love this salon!

Well, my regular stylist is out on maternity leave and I needed a pick me up. I have had a few horrific tales from other places around town and am skeptical now to let anyone color my hair but decided to take a shot tonight. I’m sad to say my regular girl has been replaced. And ecstatic I found the stylist I’ve been looking for since. well forever. Guven is a master at his craft. I did have pictures and suggestions and he ran with it. He was not letting me leave unsatisfied. No, that’s not the wine talking either. No lie, best haircut I’ve had in years. The color is on point, and I’m channeling my inner rock star.

This place is awful and way over priced. They messed my color up not once but twice trying to fix it. I told the guy not to cut my sides and he cut them anyway. I was very upset because I spent over $ 300 for cut and color. He came out into the mall screaming and yelling at me and then grabbed my arm. This place is so UNPROFESSIONAL! Just because you have done hair for 13 years does not mean you are good at what you do.

Rating is based on the front desk and management staff: seriously not impressed. One will be there in the front desk or call in, be ignored or put on hold and better yet hung up on. Most salons seems to have this issue lately, but seriously, be a little more professional if you want to keep business. 5 Stars though to: my hairstylist who used to work here, Alicia. I’ve followed her from Jouvence Aveda in Reston Town Center and now to her new location out in Tysons Corner. As I love Aveda color and the shine/health it restores my hair to, I’ve always put my trust in Alicia with keep up with the trends but maintaining my identity(i.e. nothing too crazy) to come out looking spectacular. Sweet, attentive and great at color. Also, the sweet ladies that wash hair at this salon can knock you out in 15 seconds flat. They are 2 sisters, believe one is called Gladys… phenomenal service from both of them!

After reading the reviews here, and talking with the staff at the salon, I booked an appointment for a haircut with Massoud. I let them know ahead of time I wanted a master stylist, as my haircut seems to give people problems(no, I don’t know why – my last stylist, before I moved, did an amazing job; but, since moving to NoVA, everyone butchers it). I have short, naturally blond, fine hair, but lots of it. The cut is supposed to be a very trendy, sexy, kind of tumbled-out-of-bed short cut with long layers that hang just in the eyes. If you want to see it to get an idea of what follows, it’s pretty much the exact haircut you’ll find if you type in «Sienna Miller short hair» to an internet image search. She and I look a good bit alike. I have pictures. Of the exact haircut. That I’d already had and knew worked beautifully on me. I arrived, and there’s a little sign that says tips are only allowed in cash. This is fine, but it would be nice if they mentioned it on the phone, etc., as I didn’t arrive with cash. Fortunately, they take checks as tips, so i was all set to leave one. I always tip my stylist at least 15−20%. Massoud and I talked, he looked at the pictures, and he assured me he could do the cut. I mentioned I’d been growing it out for about 5 months because the last cut took so much off my hair that I had to. He said he understood. As soon as he started blowdrying after cutting, it was very apparent he had no idea what he was supposed to have done, and he’d chopped off much more hair that he should have. My bangs were well above my eyebrows, and all fring-y like your 6th grade photo from the 80s. It looked nothing at all like what I’d showed him, talked to him about, asked for, and had worn on my head for quite a while before my first bad cut. He tried to fix it, and managed to make the sides a little less bad, but the front is appalling. It looks awful, and it completely unflattering(I am a former photography and makeup model – I have good bone structure, so it takes some actual work to lost my cheekbones and make my face and head look square). My only hope was to be able to hold the really, really tacky bangs back with a clip. Unfortunately, as I found out when I got home, even with gel and hairspray, the bangs are too short to go back at all. If you refer to that photo I talked about up above, you’ll see exactly how bad that is. The sides are super short, as well – he cut all the layers above my ears. There’s no movement, no sexiness, just kind of this weird lump of hair on my head that’s short in all the wrong places. The transition from face to side-of-head is terrible, as well. Overall, the cut looks more like a really poorly executed pixie-shag combo than anything else I can think of. What is weird is that from where my ears attach to my head back, it’s fine. Not what I asked for ATALL, but at least not awful. From that point up, though, I have no idea what he was thinking. And, neither does anyone else who saw me tonight after the cut. No one could find a single flattering thing to say. It’s going to take me another 3 – 4 months to grow it at all long enough in the front to look good(Some of the bangs are less than 1″ long). Give that my job is to be the face and sales person of a prominent, luxury business and we’re headed into our busiest season, that is a huge problem. Appearance is a big part of sales, especially in a luxury business, and I currently look like the poster girl for bad fashion mistakes. It’s bad enough that I am actually looking at shelling out the several hundred dollars to get extensions in the front until it can grow out. I did not pay for the cut. Massoud did at least realize he’d botched the entire thing, and said there would be no charge. Which was great, since I hadn’t planned on paying regardless. Honestly, I think they should cover the bang extensions – it’s that bad.

Not as nice as it sounds. Place was dirty. They tried to seem upscale but it just wasn’t there. Not a good pedicure, i cancelled the manicure service and they charged me $ 15 more than I was quoted on the phone. I was told $ 25 for wax and $ 15 for eyebrow threading. I was charged $ 35& $ 20 with nothing but, «we’ll they told you the wrong price. That’s not right.» For an Avaeda salon I expected much better. The massage chairs during the pedicure were very nice though.

I went here to get my loooong hair cut. I told Mike that I wanted it cut in a V and NOLAYERS. I got lots of layers and my hair was cut in an inverse V. Additionally he cut my hair so it is parted in the center. I NEVER part my hair in the center. I am so mad at all he did. I will never ever go there again. I am VERY disappointed in the fact that the stylist DIDNOT listen to me at all and did his own thing!

Today was my third visit there. Geeta did a nice job with my highlights. Very attentive. In previous visits I received excellent scalp massages during the shampoos.

I was going to a formal event and wanted my hair relaxed the weekend before. I’ve had this done many, many times before at other salons and have never had a problem. I got the relaxer… the next morning, I realized that not all of the neutralizing conditioner had not been washed out and had hardened in my hair overnight! I went to the salon — they washed it out and re-styled my hair. Later that evening I realized that YES, once again, all of the conditioner had not been washed out. I went to the salon and the stylists and receptionists were completely unsympathetic and unhelpful. They called the manager on the phone. SUMMARY: I went to that salon 3TIMES to correct this botched relaxer job and I just got a $ 45 gift certificate as compensation for a $ 140 service(as if I’ll EVER go back) Oh, did I mention the formal event WASMYWEDDING!!!(I’m not kidding)
