Been going there for years for lack of other places. Didi the owner is very rude and so are the braiders. I agree with the previous post. They talk in there language. .they also talk about customers that come in to inquire… they are lacking customer service badly and they don’t care. So many people I have referred will never go back due to how rudely they are treated and how there hair is messed up. I will never go back there. .I will not pay to be disrespect. I do not recommend this place they have already lost a ton of business and I see why.

First I went to Didi’s website and printed their $ 20 off coupon. It had a valid date and a lot of exceptions but it was good. So since it said to tell them before you get in the chair, I did. She looks at it and says, no she can’t give me $ 20 off just $ 10. She needs to call the website people to tell them to change it. I said but it’s not changed so what is the discount. She gave me $ 10 off. That’s ok. I just tipped her $ 10 less. The good thing was Didi and another lady worked on my hair together so instead of taking 6 hours it took 3 hours. Just remember she does not have a shampoo bowl so if your hair is dirty, wash it before you come. They really need someone to tell them about customer service. Didi talked on the phone in her language the entire time. No conversation with the customer. They work fast and braids are fine but how about a bathroom break half way through?

Why travel to DC or MD when you can go to Didi’s braiding salon. This is the best place to get your hair braided in the northern Virginia area. They offer many other styles and the quality of their work is amazing. The stylists are professional and very pleasant. They don’t braid to tight so that you may lose your edges. When I go to the salon there are two women that work on my hair. You don’t spend all day in the salon like many other places that I have been to and I don’t walk out with a sore neck. I have natural hair which is very coarse and they are gentle and patient. I can go on and on about how wonderful my experiences have been every time i walk in. You get what you pay for and as a college student I say that it is worth every penny to go here to get your hair done the right way.

Ok! My daughter got her hair braided by them three times. The first two visit she had individual braids and cornrow and I was pleased with the work but they are very RUDE!!! But this last time put me over the top! I paid them to take her box braids out, which wasn’t done by them, and also shampoo. My daughter doesn’t have a relaxer so it takes time to detangle. So I left to run errands and my daughter texted me and said help mom this lady is making comb my hair! I ran over there and I looked through the window and I saw my daughter looking pitiful with the comb on her hand while the lady was behind the desk! I walked to the lady and confronted her nicely, I told her that if you are making my child comb her hair I am taking her out this chair and I can shampoo it myself! I am paying you to do this! So of course she denied. So she continued. Then I told her to do fat cornrows, and she did. That was an additional 50 bucks! My daughter also told me those idiots did not have running water in the shampoo bowel so she rinsed her hair with a dirty bucket!!! I am done with this place!!! I do not recommend! Looking for someone to do decent hair braiding inbox me I know two people! Nasty! Rude! And unprofessional!!!

Never, ever, ever again! I have natural hair, and ladies if you are concerned at all about the health of your hair, please look elsewhere. If you want simple braiding, then fine. Braiding is about all that they are good for. My hair was damaged by the extremely vigorous wash/dry that she did. Also, I was very turned off by the unprofessionalism of the two ladies working there. There was some misunderstanding and miscommunication about the type of braids that I wanted in my hair. I understand that there is a language barrier, but even after I showed her a picture she then felt the need to talk about me in a foreign language to her co-worker. Then they decided to over charge me for simple cornrows. Who pays $ 100 for cornrows with no extension added!!! Never, ever again. There is a reason this place has such low stars. Unfortunately black salons are hard to come by in N. Va, I guess I will travel to MD for my braiding needs.

I have never actually been here myself. But, the two people that I know that went, their hair looks great, They really do a neat job. They also had two people working on their head. Who really take their time to make the hair look good. And appts are kept. They also have coupons if you go during the week. But be weary, they say you can only use certain hair with these and it is NOT printed on the coupon. They both said they would not go back because they do not want to pay that much again. They also had the usual complaints about braiding places. Loud, rude braiders whose kids are running here and there. One of the braiders even yelled at the girl for not leaving a tip. Even though she left it on her credit card receipt plain as day. But the braider was yelling she cant do that. So, they get a 3 for customer service.
