I have been coming to this place since 2005. Best Afghan food around. The buffet is great. A lot meat not like Paki restaurant. I see a review some stupid guy who said he ate there a year ago. Now he is writing a review and complaining about the service he got. Go eat at your Paki restaurant. Where they serve a lot of bone.

This incident happened about a year ago and ever since than I have not stepped a foot in this place. I went in for a lunch buffet and there was a lady at the register(probably the owners wife or sister or business partner). She was very disrespectful. There was no chicken kabobs at the buffet so I asked her if they were going to cook more, she looked at me with a very Nasty, mean face and told me to wait, and walks around the counter to come see for herself if the kabobs were actually finished, she told me to go wait at the table and grabbed the spoon out of my hand. I think she may be racist, maybe because I’m from Pakistan. But she had a nasty attitude, I would not eat here even if they paid me.

My wife and I had lunch here today. I had cheeseburger and my wife had chicken Kabob with Afghan Rice and Bread. The Food was simply amazing. I come to Café Rice and Kabob all the time and have never been disappointed. Their customers service is great and though the sitting area is not very large but it’s warm and welcoming

Just got lunch to go: Rice is so good, and chicken and beef were moist and very flavorful. Had no idea such a great place was so close. I will be back.

Called ahead and still waited 25 minutes. I asked for chicken kabobs with chick peas as a side. I did not receive the right order as there was a potato stew covering my rice. I also wasn’t given the correct sauces. My food sat on the counter as the girl behind the counter chatted to another employee for 5 minutes. After a few minutes I had to ask if it was my food. Rude service and frustrating that I spent nearly $ 30 on meals for mediocre food. Will NOT return !

We’ve been going here for about 10 years now and still order to go about 2 – 4 times a month! Their food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Easily the best kabob place in sterling VA! No brainer. Whenever we are craving kabob we go to rice and kabob.

You would never believe that this place is in a strip mall! Most amazing Middle Eastern food I have ever had!!!(and I eat that type of food a lot!) Service was perfect! The owner gave us an appetizer on the house! We both had the combo lunch, chicken was my favorite, and the chickpeas that come with it are decadent!!! I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all the time!!!

Came here for dinner with M. I love that it’s so close to her home. What a delicious kabob place! This mom and pop restaurant is cozy and has a laid back feel. I tried the Chicken Kabob, which came in a cute tray with a side salad, chick peas, and fresh tandoori bread. Their spicy sauce, mint sauce, and white sauce are on point. Dip your meat into any of these sauces for an extra flavor boost. Their portions are generous, I had plenty leftover for lunch the next day. Sweet! Definitely try their Chai, it’s like a warm hug. The spices they use in it make the tea so fragrant and flavorful. They have a wide variety of menu items and a buffet. Employees are friendly and helpful. There is no waiter service here. Place your order with the cashier and your food is brought to your table in a tray. Restrooms are in the back and clean. Quite a bit of seating is available inside, but I can see how this place could get very full. A delicious meal with great conversation makes me one happy camper.

Afghan food here better than many places. Less salty spinach, etc., which I like. Nice variety, nice buffet. Will be back.

The good: Let me start by saying that the food was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, cooked perfectly, all that jazz. We had the lamb loved it! The bad: Really bad, unclean service :-/ 1. We came in and there were two customers seated at a table waiting for food. Another lady was sitting at another table with her computer and a remote in her hand. As soon as we walked in she got up and went behind the counter 2. I did not see her wash her hands after she got up from her computer, but I didn’t care too much because I thought she was just the cashier. However after staring at the menu for a while I saw her get up and turn some meat that was on the fire. 3. I ate here anyway because I grew up eating street meat in LA and I have a strong stomach and I’m not a germophobe(don’t judge me). 4. After we ordered she went back to her computer. Another lady brought us our food. Food was delicious, as I said. However, they brought us a plate that had a huge chunk missing out of it. If you’re familiar with the restaurant biz, you know plates that are missing glaze are breeding grounds for bacteria. Damaged plates are supposed to be discarded. 5. The other two ladies in the restaurant asked for to go plates. The lady brought them to go plates while talking on her cell phone. Also, studies have shown that cell phones have more bacteria than most toilets. 6. They never gave us any water. This made eating suck. All and all I’m glad I blessed this food before I ate it. I will not be returning. If you’re a germophobe this is not the restaurant for you. If you don’t care then give it a try!

Ever-increasing prices and ever-decreasing quality and portions. Bush’s baked beans out of the can(complete with ketchup flavor!) now qualify as an Afghan side dish. You can tell they’ve started to use lower quality rice and chicken, too. Used to be a very good place, but no longer. Portions are now smaller and prices have increased quite a bit. You can get better Afghan food in this area. The bread is still pretty good.

lovely kabob restaurant. Good steak kabobs, tender and juicy, Very hearty dinner for $ 12 huge plater. The naan was good, but a bit crispy in some points. The rice was ok. The sauces(red & green) were delicious. There were a number of delivery orders and carryouts happening when I was there at 8:30pm.

Went here with a group of folks for lunch today. I had the kofta salad and it was just ok. The kofta itself was overcooked and greasy. The salad was solidly underwhelming. Besides the kofta, it was iceberg lettuce, three slices of tomato and three slices of cucumber. It was drizzled with a yogurt dressing. I asked for more dressing and discovered why they only put so little: it has no flavor. Anyway, the people were nice and the space was small but comfortable. Their set up is a bit weird in that you order at the counter, they bring the food to your table, and then you pay when you are done eating. The group of us almost left without remembering to pay!

Nice halal Afghani food place. Décor is nothing fancy, but the owner is pleasant and the food was good. Kabuli palao was fragrant and the lamb was very tender.

The best afghan food I ever had. It’s amazing. The service is amazing. Prices are great. Value is great. Constancy of food quality is the same every time we are here. If you want a reliable great dining experience you must visit here.

Its a Ok place. The ambiance is very simple. I guess they have 6 – 8 tables. It is basically a kabob house. Its in sterling shopping complex so finding a parking is not an issue. They have buffet as well as kabob platters. I had ordered a lamb kabab platter. There was 4 – 5 chunks of meat with rice, salad and Nan. The kababs were good, juicy, spiced and tasted good with the Nan. The rice was also well cooked. But I did not find it worth for the price of almost $ 12.

I ended up eating lunch here the other day, while looking for another kabob spot. I didn’t have high expectations, but it turned out to be really yummy. It’s an Afghan kabob place, but they have a buffet lunch. Their bone in chicken kabob is sooo yummy. At first I was sketched out because they looked like chicken wings, without the red coloring. Like plain old chicken wings, where the sauce is separate. anyway — it turned out to be really yummy and moist and flavorful. I was already full, but I kept eating. The kubideh was a standout — I’m not a big fan of ground beef kabob, but their kubideh is really good. Also very tender and very flavorful. It seems like normal Indian restaurants skimp on the meat quality on the meat they serve on the buffet. That doesn’t seem to be the case here, the kubideh and chicken kabob with the buffet were really really good. When you order buffet, you get two sauces, a yogurt sauce and some sort of spicy sauce. both sauces were really yummy. As for the rest of the buffet — I wasn’t a big fan of the chicken curry, but the sides were really good. That day, they had spinach and chickpeas. The buffet also came with soup, salad, and some sort of fried veggie pattie thingies. I didn’t eat any of this stuff as I was already full. I did have the rice pudding, and that was very good. All in all — the lunch buffet is an awesome deal. I will definitely come back. Service is very friendly.

Best quality ingredients! Authentic Afghan food and hybrid burgers, wraps, sandwiches, soups all for a good price! I’m heading back there now! Will probably get the kabili and a burger. Yum!
