Also not sure how this place has such high ratings. I got moldy stale bread as soon as I sat down and it smelled like people were smoking on the other side of their large curtain. Nothing was hot and the meat was definitely not fresh and so dry it had a jerky like texture. Seriously. Save yourself the disappointment. No way even close to five stars and giving it two would have been way to generous.

This place is the most underrated restaurant I’ve been to. Extremely unassuming but excellent food. Staff is friendly and will make great recommendations.
Feels like it’s run by a family. The food is excellent.
The only down side is the ambience, but the food is so good you won’t take you head out of your plate to notice it.

I’m not sure how this place has such high ratings. The lentil soup was thick and had an off flavor. The chicken tiki was dry and flavorless. The rice was yellow and had no flavor. The waitress was clueless and seemed confused when I ordered soups that were listed on the menu. Apparently they were not available that day but she let me keep naming them off instead of just telling me what was available. She also never refilled any drinks.

I don’t know who gave this place 5 stars, but it doesn’t deserve 1. The lentil soap is bland & super thick. The chicken tiki was dry & the rice was yellow rice. Not the typical white or brown rice I usually get at middle Eastern restaurants. This was by far the worst hummus I’ve ever had. I am truly disappointed.

The food was okay. We ordered a little bit of everything. The service was the charm of this restaurant. The waitress went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of.

Very Very good food. Portions are HUGE. My wife and I went for date night and wanted to try different things so we got the «For 3 Person Platter». OH MY GOODNESS. I think 4 – 5 people could have eaten off of it. Very nice wait staff and cook. Will go back for sure!
Only thing a little on the down side, but can’t rate them lower for is when you walk in (at least on Saturday night when we went…) it smells of cigarette smoke. Half the dinning area is separated by a thick curtain and on the other side there are several men playing cards and smoking. Can’t knock them for trying to cater to their customers but I would build a permanent wall and put smoke eaters in to kill the smell. This said I would STILL go back even though I am allergic to cigarette smoke and get a bad headache from it…

Having just moved to the area, we used Unilocal to find local gems, and we’ve already carried out from here twice last week and plan on doing so again tonight! The food is fast, fresh, and sooo good! The chicken cream chop is light and crispy and the shredded chicken and beef is soo good! The stews are so flavorful and delicious too!

This is a hidden gem… My friend brought me here I didn’t even know it existed! I had the chicken cream chop and rice it was delicious. The server Maryanna was also very polite professional and checked on us plenty of times. I will def come back to this place.

I’ve been craving Middle Eastern food and with all the construction, I needed to go somewhere close by me and affordable. After reading the reviews, I decoded to give Tigris a try. One must know beforehand that there are two entrances, side by side. The door to your left is the banquet entrance and the door to the right is the restaurant. Once you’re inside, the only thing separating the two spaces is a large curtain dividing the room in half. We were asked to seat ourselves and once we sat down, the waitress gave us menus. Another note, they don’t carry everything that is printed on the menu. The waitress said it was a misprint and no one has fixed it. Weird… once we placed our order, we noticed a very strong smell of cigarettes and/​or cigar smoke. It was coming from the banquet side. We asked the waitress if we could move tables and she promptly went to the perpetrators to remind them that not only is smoking not allowed indoors but it is against the law. After that little fiasco, she brought out our platter for 3 which easily could have fed 6. Upon her suggestion, we ordered it with half rice and half burgul. I fell in love with burgul that day. Also we received free hummus and tea. I believe I will order food from here again but I’m not sure if I want to risk sitting in smoke again.

First visit, take out. Restaurant was recommended to me. I was greeted with a young lady, smile and helpful with my order. (I wish I could recall her name). Offered me a seat and water. She was great. Got home, my husband and I enjoyed the food so much. It was outstanding. I cannot wait to go back and sit and eat.

On a hunt for a new place for Iraqi food. Upon reviews from other Unilocalers, we decided to take a chance on this restaurant and we weren’t disappointed. We ordered takeaway, a platter for 3 at $ 18. It came with the yellow rice that my kids liked and we took the option of half bulgur wheat too which was really delicious. The meats were the usual 1 chicken kebab, 1 beef kebab, a piece of chicken chop, beef shawarma slices & chicken shawarma slices. I feel that they should give 2 kebabs each given that this was a platter for 3! That aside, the meal was scrumptious. We enjoyed the rice and the bulgur wheat which was moist. It came with 2 small cups of delicious potato curry. Unlike other places, they placed 4 thin breads on top of the hot rice dish before putting the foil in, which made the breads very soft. The guy who took our order was courteous, the kitchen looked clean & so did the toilet. We will be back!

While on a business trip I looked up shawarma places near by and Tigris popped up with high ratings. Decided to check it out.
Their grilled chicken is delicious. The meat was tender an juicy. They made spicier on my request.
Their beef shawarma was also good.
Prices were very reasonable too.
The server was friendly and very nice.
Over all it was a good experience.

Decided to check out the place since it was new. Ordered two beef shwarma to go. Have never seen such old and hard meat. It felt like I was chewing thru chunks of wood. Will never go again.

I went to Tigris last night with a group of about fifteen people at around 11:30 pm. I called about ten minutes ahead, and we came in to the staff setting up a table to accommodate us. We were quickly given water and complimentary hummus and pita, which was delicious. We ordered two of their party platters, which was more than enough food. The whole dinner cost about 100 bucks and we were all stuffed by the time we left with plenty of extra food. Honestly we ordered too much. The kitchen is open so we were able to watch as the staff cut meat from the rotisserie and plate our meals. The pita was clearly made in house. The hummus was exceptional. The shawarma was tender and the kabob was juicy. Each platter came with lamb and chicken served about three different ways. It also came with vegetables and rice. The staff frequently came to our table to see if we needed anything, and service was very quick. This is one of the best halal places I’ve ever been to and middle eastern cuisine is one of my favorite ethnic foods. The experience was enjoyed by everyone.

Crazy good dinner deal on quality, quantity and variety.
Had a full chicken shawarma order and it was different but good. It was shaved thin off a rotisserie and what would have been dry shawarma otherwise was a mixture of crispy pieces and juicy pieces.
Meal came with hummus and pitas, a pickled vegetable plate, a bowl of curry potato stew and a spiced glass of tea for 11 something after tax. Nutso value for what you get.

Excellent food and service. If you are looking for authentic Iraqi food, then this is the place. Great prices and the portions are huge.

AHAAAAAHHHHHHH You’re Chicken Shawarma sandwich was different… But I still LOVED IT!!! I am wishing I was the type of dainty girl who eats her food in small bites, and chews it thoroughly, and is elegant… but I’m not… not at all… I am a LET ME GET MY HANDS ON THAT BEFORE SOMEONE STEALS IT girl… Why…no one will steal my shawarma… not with the grip I got on it anyway…
So I’m sitting here with a sad face :-(because my shawarma is now just a memory… a memory of garlic, and chicken, and hot pickled pink things exploding in ecstasy in my mouth… ohhh…and I had been craving shawarma and it’s gone now… waaahhhhhh…

I absolutely loved my lunch from Tigris today!!! The portions are huge, the prices are extremely decent, the gent who took my order and supplied me with my food upon arrival was very cordial. I ordered chicken shawarma sandwich, chicken cream chop sandwich, small Iraqi salad, and a small Greek Salad… whole bill was $ 16.75.
Way to go! I have lunch, dinner, and lunch again for tomorrow… not a bad way to spend a $ 20 bill if you ask me!
I shall return to the Tigris!!!

Great food and great prices. The complimentary hummus is a nice touch. Order the half size entrees, they are big enough. $ 6.95 for a huge dinner or lunch!
