I work at a business down the street from Royal Café and we have ordered carry-​out from this restaurant hundreds of times. I am sorry to say, but the food has gone so far downhill. It is just plain awful now. Today we tried carryout again and I tried to play it safe and order a BLT — how can anyone screw up a BLT!!! The tomatoes we pure white that were put on my sandwich and the mayo was watery and disgusting. Does the kitchen actually LOOK at what they are throwing on the plate or inside the carryout box? I’m not sure if there is new management or new owners, but this place will not make it if it gets any worse, I’m sure of it. On top of the bad food, they now charge an extra fee for carryout packaging. So disappointing. Most likely will have to find a new place for lunch!

Figured i would give this plave another try. Bad idea. U can’t have 1000 things on the menu and they all be fresh, figured the breakfast would be a high volume item that it would be good. Bacon tasted really bad! Toast was dry, and the sausage was cold. There was a piece of food in my water. Fork and coffee cup was dirty. The worst part was the service, the old busy boy lady just threw all out place settings in the middle of the table, and our unfriendly robot waitresses never smiled! Never again.

Good food, but the waitress’s aren’t very friendly. Seems that every time I go there the Christmas ornaments are still on the ceiling. It’s a quiet place to go when you have a little extra time to sit down and eat. The food isn’t made very fast so you have to plan on being there longer than you would expect.

Worse cream of mushroom soup ever. There should not be chunks of flour in it. Gross!!!
Bad experience had the Polish sausage and almost broke a tooth trying to eat the sausage way way way overcooked

I’ve thrown away better food than what they put on the plate in front of me. Au gratin potatoes that were just soupy mush and ham that was so tough a steak knife couldn’t cut it! Forget about chewing it. Disgusting. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

I got the hot beef sandwich for carry out. It was so bad. The meat was so dry it was life tasteless beef jerkey idk if my dogs will even eat it. I’m So sad because this was my dinner and I’m really hungry. I will never eat here again. Do not get the roast beef!

This place is less than mediocre. If the cabbage soup wasn’t so good, I’d give it one star.
The only way I’d come back, is to get carryout cabbage soup, as to not deal with the rude wait staff.

Always a good meal, great soups and fabulous service. Omelets are delicious

We stopped here on the way to a concert, hoping for good mom-​and-​pop home cooking. That’s exactly what we got, with a huge menu to choose from (including breakfast all day), large portions at a decent price, a clean atmosphere and good service. We’ll be back.

Hair in morning breakfast isn’t very appetizing. Pointed it out to waitress and got some new eggs and HAIR in that one too! Haven’t been back since.

The food is pretty cheap, but once you bite into it you realize why it’s so cheap. The fries are among the WORST I have ever had in my life; completely lacked flavor, texture. The bread they serve is pretty gross as well. Even the water tasted warm and pretty crappy to be honest.
I’m only giving it two stars because of the fact that they aren’t trying to rip you off.

The meatloaf is nothing to write home about.

It’s a family run diner type restaurant. but the food is alway fast good and absurdly cheap. If you go before 8:00 pm most days you can order off the special menu, which is pretty nice. The staff is always friendly.

Nothing fancy, it’s what you would expect. Good solid diner food. Ordered the hot beef sandwich with mashed and salad, bf ordered the turkey dinner. Both dinners were good, off the bone turkey and real roast beef not lunch meat. Both dinners were insanely cheap $ 6.95, how could you go wrongrestrooms were clean, coffee was always full and everyone was friendly.

the category of this place is incorrect. it is a family style diner not a Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend breakfast here as the food is great, the coffee refills are plentiful and the prices are very reasonable.
