I’ve driven by the place enough to feel sad for it, what with no cars in the parking lot, and employees standing outside sometimes. This place has seen better days. I stopped in for a couple coneys and fries. Tuesdays and Thursdays are $ 1 coney days, so I decided to give it a go. This is the second time I’ve been here, and to me, it’s just another coney place, except with Koegels. The tables and chairs are straight out of the 70’s, with faux wood laminate and pleather seats. The place seemed pretty clean from what I could see. The service wasn’t the best, as I was only serviced once when I sat down and once when I was done eating, even then waiting a bit long for someone to come back to grab my dues. I was literally the only person there, but there was an interesting game show on from what I heard, so the lack of service was warranted in somebody’s world I guess. With all said in regards to atmosphere and service, three-something dollars for two coneys and fries, with a water for wetness, the gig wasn’t all that bad. A Koegel dog is a force to be reckoned with on anyone’s menu, so I can’t complain in that regard. The fries weren’t half bad either. If it weren’t for these saving factors, another star could have been lost. Would I go back? Yeah, but the place could do better. They sure could work on some ambition for starters, then use an interior update, newer dishes, and some better lighting. If you’re looking for the place, find Home Depot, then drive to the end of the strip mall in the same parking lot. People probably just don’t know the place is there really.
