After reading reviews I *HAD* to try this place out! So. Last night my daughter and I took the drive. Lasagna night! I expected some awesome food based on reviews… We bought a little of everything. The lasagna was ok. Uhh at best! Nothing special and I wouldn’t drive for it again. For $ 5.99 you get a piece of lasagna, a half of a sub bun(they call a roll) and a little butter packet. Is it worth it? I’m not sure. I don’t order lasagna anywhere else? Like Tony mentioned, it’s a Stouffer’s knock off, hit Meijer and get a frozen and you’d get 2 – 3 times as much. We also got chicken tenders and potatoes. The chicken tenders were hard. Not crispy hard but hard, hard. :(I got them for my kids to eat and I broke the plastic knife trying to cut them. They would probably be pretty solid right out of the fryer but they had been sitting for some time and just got rock hard sitting under heat lamps. Onto the potatoes. The potatoes looked awesome! My hubby loves those kinda potatoes. I talked to the women behind the counter about them being soggy per the review and was warned bc of the boxing and condensation they probably would be but I got them for him anyways. He ate them all, so he didn’t seem to mind.(chicken tenders are $ 7.99/lb and potatoes are $ 4.99/lb) Now pizza. The pizza was fresh out of the oven. We got lucky! My daughter picked 2 inside pieces. The pizza looked REALLY good! And. It was just as good as it looked! The pieces were big, a little more«pricey» than your regular liquor store/party store places but that’s ok. 1 piece is $ 1.65 or $ 1.75 out the door. My girls really enjoyed the pizza! So did I. Probably the best thing of the entire trip! And finial thing we bought on my up to the front was a Italian sub for my hubby to take to work today. They had a bunch of different pre-made subs. Although he forgot to take it, it does look pretty delicious.(3.956″ or 5.99 for 2) So all in all– I think this place has potential to be fantastic if I had gotten there earlier in the day when everything was really fresh… But It wasn’t and maybe if I’m driving by and was hungry I’d stop by and get a slice of pizza, maybe? But for right now i’ll just take the $ 27 as a loss as most went uneaten. :(

I love the people here! all so friendly ALWAYS. I’ve been coming here for over a year now, I work in the area. I like the refrigerated foods, and the chicken– bone — in is really good. I also like the pasta on Tuesdays & the taco salad on Fridays. I also recommend the chicken broccoli pasta salad. You can stop in grab lunch, a lottery ticket, a beverage, whatever you need. high traffic place at lunchtime due to location. it’s a hidden gem, I tell everyone about it.

This place is a hidden gem. I must have driven by it a million times, yet never stopped because I didn’t know the yummy goodness that was waiting inside for me. Then I saw a review and decided to stop(plus it was more convenient since I live closer to it now). The lasagna, only available on Thursday, is great. It’s better than Stouffer’s, and I mean that as a compliment — that is my benchmark for not-an-Italian-restaurant lasagna. Meaty, cheesy, and nice and dense. I stopped another day to try the chicken strips, and they were great. Much more flavorful than Chicken Shack, I think they marinade the chicken. The«fries» are also good, although they suffer a lot with even a 10-minute drive. The bone-in chicken is also great. The only thing I’ve had that I wasn’t a fan of is the Friday fish fry. The cod is really dense and not flaky, almost like a compressed normal piece. I also tried the catfish, I wasn’t a big fan. But everything else looks good, and I have to try a sub or some of the other dishes in the hot case. It’s nice that you can grab a pop and chips(or a 40 or some other booze if you’re so inclined) before you check out. Definitely more than meets the eye!

I’ve been coming here off and on for about 30 years. The last couple years I’ve been going in four or five times a week on my way to work. I have tried just about every sandwich they have, they are all good. If you’re going to eat it immediately, get your sub toasted. It’s definitely worth it. Their chicken is awesome! I get it at least once a week for my lunch at work. Their salads are also very good. I’ve tried practically all of them. Their pizza is a big seller there, it is worth stopping for. They have a great staff, very helpful and friendly.

This place is completely legit for a crusty little hole in the wall liquor store slash prepared food counter. From the liquor store angle, absolutely nothing stands out about the place. As for the food? They’ve got a number of options, which other reviewers spell out in detail. Myself? I’ve tried the broasted chicken because… well… there is a huge sign out front that says CHICKEN. So it seemed a good place to start. The chicken itself is quality stuff. Four star pollo all the way. Better than most of the broasted chicken I have tried in the area and certainly better than Chicken Shack. And the price is right, too. For a very filling combo featuring breast, wing, potato wedges, roll, and a pickled jalapeño it was only $ 5.99. I have to admit to being a bit underwhelmed with the accompanying items, though. The potato wedges, while plentiful, were unfortunately soggy(and this after spending under 90 seconds in the sealed crispness-killing carry-out container). The roll was just ok. And the jalapeño, while absolutely a nice touch, was kind of a hot mess. I did not expect it to squirt fiery pickle juice in my eye when I bit into it. I suppose that is totally my fault, though. Lesson learned. Wont’ be making that mistake again. Pizza looked decent, big rectangular Detroit-style slices. I’ll have to go back for those at some point, as well as the Thursday lasagna everyone is raving about. Saran-wrapped sandwiches are a bit intimidating but you never know with those things.

Ate there today after reading these reviews. The chicken was the worst I’ve ever tasted. It was warm at best, very greasy and soggy. And the potatoes were fishy tasting. The whole meal was nasty and most of it went down the garbage disposal. They keep the chicken and potatoes in a deli style counter in large piles with lights to keep them warm. Stay away.

Love the chicken and the potato wedges. Thursday lasagna is outstanding. Not for dieters. Lots of various adult beverages. They broke my addiction to Chicken Shack like, well, a chicken bone, stomped on it, threw it down the stairs and lit it on fire.

I’ve gotten carry out food here since about 2000. Tony always has a friendly staff and the kitchen puts out some very good chow ! Hard to believe I’ve never tried the lasagna … but it’s only available on Thursday . Love The Sauce ! and the generous slice for $ 4.99 no wonder they sell 6 sheets every Thursday! !

Ate here for the first time yesterday. Fried chicken was as good as other reviewers said. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the other items.

The sign says«chicken and beer» and that’s about the size of it. They have fried chicken and chicken tenders. Potato wedges and various salad sandwiches and lots of alcohol and lottery tickets. The chicken and potato wedges are pretty good… actually really good. The roll is a nice garnish. In and out in few minutes. Cheap and tasty = chicken and beer.

Cool little Deli/Party store. I recommend the fried chicken and broasted potato combo, its like 5.79 and comes w/a roll and butter. The coleslaw is awesome here too. Grab yourself an ice cold Faygo and you got a nice little lunch on the go.
