Flaming Grill Family Dining

Decent food– TERRIBLE service. This place is ridiculous. For 4 people to eat, expect to pay over $ 50. They charge extra for EVERYTHING. Extra pita for the $ 4 side salad? Oh that’s $ 3. Fries that come with your pita? Oh that’s another $ 3. The waitress did not ONCE tell us that everything extra cost. Will never come back to this place.

Hubs and I went there for lunch today. Only our 2^nd time and it was really good. Our server was great. Hubs had the hot turkey sandwich and he said it was really good. Came with mashed potatoes and peas, he wished he had a little more gravy but he still enjoyed it. I had a cup of very good chicken noodle soup and a burger and fries. Everything was good and served promptly. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the entire place and especially the rest room. Will certainly go back.

Portions are nice and the place is always super clean, different from your average Coney Island!

This is the best breakfast you can get in town hands down, also the place is always clean and the staff always provide great service.

Of my six nearby choices for breakfast spots, this one is the best. The folks who run it are friendly and offer a good value anytime of day.
Anything with corned beef in it will amaze you. I have tried their CB and swiss Omelette more than once. It is outstanding. A CB on onion roll is a good lunch choice. I’ve never had it so tender. It is slightly less seasoned than your Southfield deli, just FYI.
Dinners are complete meals and I usually go with veal or chicken parmesan. There is a menu if senior portions too.

I tried this place for breakfast based on Unilocal reviews. The Unilocal reviews are on point. Clean, good food, good service. I recommend and will come again.

Service is horrible. They would not let me substitute the fries and soup for a salad. Asked us three times if we were ready to order, all the staff sat at a table and ate lunch (it was slow), and never asked how the food was. The food is good, so if you don’t mind bad service this is your place. They also declined my card twice; when I called my bank and they said the restaurant was typing in the wrong three number security code on the back of your card.

Great restaurant! I’m Bulgarian and their Greek food is amazing. Also their dishes are a pretty good size. The waitress are every efficient, and nice A+.
I would rather support a local restaurant VS a big chain restaurant too

I’ve only gone there for breakfast so my review is regarding that menu but I can’t imagine dinner being anything short of awesome either. They use fresh vegetables, fresh cheese, and great meat; everything is in good quantities as well! Extremely clean inside the kitchen and sitting area, as well. Wait staff is awesome and very pleasant to talk to if they’re not slammed. I recommend this diner to everybody with the adequate time.

This place has excellent food and the service is wonderful. Very clean and prices are very reasonable. We eat there all the time. Good lunch specials.

Best breakfast around… I’ve been here many times and it just keeps getting better and better. The staff is really friendly and the food is great. Their crepes are amazing best I ever had. If your looking for great food and good prices I definitely suggest this place.

For a small family place it is super clean and the owner is very involved. The food is fresh and usually very good. We often chose this place for dinner. My recommendations:
Breakfast:
Omelets are very good. The Flaming Grille’s omelets are not grease soaked like some other nearby places.
French Toast is awesome, a nice eggy cinnamon flavor.
Pancakes are solid and huge.
Lunch:
The ice tea is freshly brewed everyday.
Tuna salad is very good. High quality tuna and nicely balanced.
Caesar Salad wrap is highly recommended.
Dinner:
Chicken pot pie is to die for. Not salty like most other places and the gravy is a perfect consistency. By far my favorite menu item.
The polish platter is excellent. A family favorite.
Kabob dinner is usually very good, but sometimes the chicken can be a bit dry.
Turkey dinner and fish and chips are consistently good.
Service is great and friendly. When they get busy you might have to flag down a waitress, but usually the service is very good.

My husband and I went there for lunch. The chicken Caesar wrap was very good. The wait staff was nice and friendly and the atmosphere was good. Prices are fair also. I go there every chance I get.

Been here one time. Very average place but serves good food. Nice family place. I would go here again, but not for a date. A nice afternoon lunch with friends or co worker.
I enjoy places like this and it’s close by.

I’ve read all the other reviews and am left wondering if I caught them on a bad night or if I went to a different restaurant. We decided to try them for dinner and went with two specials. My turkey was kind of tough and the mashed potatoes were some of the worst I’ve ever had, and they were homemade. But the clincher was the stuffing — it was burnt to a crisp. 75% was so hard I couldn’t even stick a fork though it with all my might. To their credit, when I asked for it to be replaced they did, but come on… they knew what they sent out and that should have never made it out of the kitchen.
The only portion that appeared to be worth what we paid for it was the polish platter, but it was mostly red sauce and wasn’t very good other than the pierogis. The kids’ pancake was only one rodent-​shaped one for almost $ 5, too much compared to what we get elsewhere, especially considering the dixie-​cup sized milk, the smallest I’ve ever seen.
On top of this, the service was not very good or attentive, despite the fact that they weren’t that busy. It seemed like we were interrupting something. I’m glad other diners have found something they like here, we will not be coming back. There are so many other places that do the same sort of food and they do it well.

I really enjoyed my Chicken Greek salad here. I have had Chicken Greek salads all over Metro Detroit. The greens were a nice mixture of lettuce baby spinach and other greens. The onions were red and there was just the right amount of olives and peppers. The Hostess and our Waitress were both very nice. The coffee was pretty average nothing spectacular.
My friend had the corned beef and said he has had better corned beef. He also had the Italian Wedding soup and said it was good. This was a very positive dining experience.

I came in on Tuesday and was craving an egg white omelette. I had gotten it before and it was great. This time the waitress was so rude when I was trying order.
I asked her if the mushrooms were canned or fresh and she said canned and I’m like okay, I’ll just take broccoli and tomato. She would not allow me to finish talking without disrupting me. It was so rude.
And than came the food. Typically whenever I have an egg white omelette it’s a large portion because it is so fluffy when you whip it.
My friend and I kindly asked her what was up with small portion, she just said this is all you get. I swear they only used one egg for a $ 9.00 omelette. Because of the rudeness and the disregard to taking care of her customer, I gave her a poor tip.
I do not like giving bad tips, however as a waitress I know they deal with horrible customers sometimes. But I think she was very rude and seemed not like her job. For me a good tip involves great communication and presentation.
Remember this: «Be kind to others, and they will be kind to you.»
I will still return to Flaming Grille but will not be getting an omelette anymore. There broccoli tasted frozen too. I’m a big believer in fresh fruits and veggies. They really don’t cost that much, so why not feed your customers with the most freshest food.

The place is noisy, welcoming, and friendly. The wait staff doesn’t fool around, so be sure you have your order ready!
Expect simple offerings, but all of it is fresh and delicious. I went with the Chicken Kabob, and was very impressed with the size and seasoning.
Refills are prompt, and the wait staff keeps up with you, even on a busy day.
I’m so glad I stopped in, hope to be back soon!

This is the local breakfast place you kick yourself for not finding sooner. The breakfast is great and staff is some of friendliest around. They turn stuff around fast for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s one of the few places I’ve taken all my friends and even some insist going there before I do.
Patty melts, big breakfast and burgers are some of my favorites. You’ll never get shooed out of your seat. A lot like Cheers, you’ll probably be surprised how quickly they start remembering your orders.

Another gem in my neighborhood! First was great this is my 100^th time! Family owned and operated this place always puts a smile on my face.
The food is of great quality and I know that they use top of the line ingredients. I have tried the menu practically and will say don’t order Mexican in a family diner unless the chefs are Mexican but other than that this place has my heart!
