The only reason it got 2 stars is because of the service and food. Both excellent. Minus 3 stars because of management and restaurant not fit to be opened. Half way thru our meal, the manager closes the store because the bathrooms haven’t worked all morning, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to operate a restaurant without functioning restrooms, and starts yelling at the staff to go on break. Then she(Nancy) storms out with no instruction to anyone as to what to do. The plumber shows up with the city inspector in tow. He fixes the toilets that are now over flowing. Everyone keeps asking one employee what to do, and her response is, don’t ask me, I’m not going on her(Nancy) shitlist and getting blamed for everything. It’s happened before. Nancy comes back into the store and immediately starts barking orders and even giving the few customers still there attitude. Way to run a business. Open before everything works or is ready, then disappear on your employees when it’s not going your way. Toilets don’t work, paint on the tables and few chairs and half the restaurant is still un seatable.

Ever eaten Green eggs and ham? If not, head to Denny’s. More than once my ‘ham’ was green-tinted around the edges and the egg yolks exhibited a similar hue. While you’re at it, you can choke down their faux-sausage and plaster-tasting pancakes. On top of it, the food is slow to arrive-often being cold by the time you get it-the service is hit-or-miss and the prices aren’t competitive anymore. The final insult is you occasionally deposit your breakfast on the parking lot before you make it to your car. With so many family style options around, why would ANYBODY eat at Denny’s anymore? This chain is heading for the rocks, no question.

Wow that was bad… one star goes to my server Jason who was running around doing everything… clearing tables, host, took my order and served me AND cashed me out. Dude you need a raise. Besides that who ever is managing this place is running it to the ground. My menu was covered in syrup and when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands there was no paper towel. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs and the gravy was so watered down it was gross. The toast was inedible it was so hard. Whoever owns this plan wake up your losing money. Will NOT be back

I can’t believe I am going to say this… Had 2 of the best breakfast skillets ever! The green skillet and the meat lovers. I know I am still shocked, give them a chance.

This is the most bipolar restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ve lived in the area for 15 years now and been to this Denny’s probably 100 times. Sometimes you’ll go and get great service — I’ve had two waitresses here that I enjoyed so much, I would choose to go to Denny’s over the other local diner fare that’s in the area. Other times, the service is slow, terribly rude and kind of mind-bogglingly unprofessional. In what stratosphere does upper management think it’s a good idea to hire managers who are too busy on personal calls to hang up the phone when they’re cashing out a customer?! Just had to add, after reading another review, that we’ve also had multiple incidences of «theater performance» from the kitchen. Lots of vulgar banter at levels louder than what I’d let my kids talk inside of a restaurant. If you’re horrified at the thought of your kids hearing four letter words coming from the kitchen, don’t eat here. The food seems to always take forever, no matter the time of day or what you order, but at least it’s generally hot when it comes out and very, very average(which is sometimes a good thing — it’s not *great* food by any means but it’s rarely inedible, like some greasy spoon places). Kids eat free pretty much every day of the week(except maybe Sunday?) with the purchase of an adult entrée, which is a nice perk for my family of 5. So, it’s a hit or an utter miss with the service, the food is fairly average but honestly way too highly priced for what it is. Unless you find yourself one of those golden goose waitresses, skip Denny’s and take the extra 2 miles to head up Van Dyke to either Steve’s Café(now Two Brothers) or the Savory Grill. Your stomach and pocket book will thank you.

Anywhere 24 hours is good for me and my Fiancé we work usually really late and there are only a few locations that are open this late and Denny’s is one. We even have stayed later after our meal was over and they didn’t mind while we bible studied, any place that lets us do this is A-OK in our book!!!

So, we chose Denny’s for dinner one night and pretty much regretted that decision immediately after we made it to our table,(which was the only table left in two small open sections). I love food! Love it! And I know that sometimes waiters and waitresses rely on tips and work with people who treat them like garbage — I’m not one of those people. I tip well when I can and I don’t complain unless food is obviously cold or completely incorrect. Please know this. First, let me say, it was freezing inside. I can handle the cold as well as any ‘Michigander’, but I was covered in goosebumps. Next, I ordered mozzarella sticks with marinara. Our waiter jotted down the order, gave us that usual smile and nod and left. A few minutes later he came back with our drinks and apologized because they don’t serve mozzarella sticks anymore! But — he said… damn. By now another group of four sat down nearby. They received their appetizers before our food. Again, the waiter returns and apologizes because he cancelled the mozzarella sticks and the cook thought he meant the entire order! Obviously our food came later, but it was the wrong meal. I asked for a specialty sandwich and was given the wrong one.(Both our meals were carried out by the manager too!) When I mentioned the wrong order, the waiter offered to buy us drinks on him or if we wanted to take the sand which off the order. I chose to remove the item. Later, they told us the price for what I ordered would be more expensive, by .20! So, instead of removing the food — she just charged me for the regular Sandwich! They were obviously not working hard at maintaining an establishment. Half the wait-staff were younger girls who messed up another lady’s dinner who sat right next to us! At that point, we just took our bill and left a small tip. We will not be returning.

Always go late night. Servers have always been friendly. Food is okay and always brought out in a timely manner. Menu has changed the last few times i was there. Almost as if the chain is trying to do some kind of Ruby Tuesday type skillets. I liked the old menu better.

Didn’t even eat there. We decided to go there because we haven’t been to a Denny’s in years. We were seated right away but at a dirty table. There was crumbs, cheese, and smudges still on it. It was set up like it was cleaned. We were going to ask for a different table. But we looked around and every table around us was set up and dirty. We just told the server we had to leave. If the front isn’t clean you have to question if the kitchen is.

Meh. Not my cup of tea. My Mom wanted to stop at Denny’s after her nearby doctor appointment. There is much better breakfast options in the area but Momma knows best! We were seated and got our drinks pretty quickly. Service lacked. I don’t really think we had a waitress but more like random people help us Food came out rather quickly but everything wasn’t together so we would eat something and then a little while later another part of our meals would come out. Weird. I ordered the Fit Slam which consisted of egg whites scrambled with spinach and grape tomatoes, turkey bacon, English muffin and fresh fruit. Egg whites were incredibly runny and left watery grease all over the plate. I said no tomato and of course got tomato on my plate. Turkey bacon was good, English muffin was burnt but edible and the fresh fruit came out when I already finished the rest of my meal. It kind of looked like a preschooler thru my meal together. Place is very burned out and ran down. Could definitely use a makeover and happier employees.

I am just so surprised that this entire chain is still in business. By far, the food has to be one of the most-processed and disgusting, genetically-engineered slop I have encountered in a national chain restaurant. The table still had dried ketchup on it and strongly smelled of crusted-over«maple» syrup. I am fairly confident that the place hasn’t had a thorough cleaning since the establishment opened. I was so enthralled with the wonderful ambience, but then the staff really went above and beyond to make my dinner extra special I was so grateful to the charming staff for enhancing my dining experience by entertaining us to a dinner show. It consisted of our waitress yelling at the kitchen staff and them sharing a witty and vulgar banter. We were thoroughly amused. As for the wonderful tableside service, we received our appetizer, soup, salad and entrée at the same time. How courteous! My friend had a burger that can be best described as something not even worthy of throwing into a pig trough. The nachos looked like vomit, served up with a side of a hairball. I take that back, I would rather have had them look like a gift my cat left for me on the carpet. Topping that off with a wonderfully lukewarm soup and salad(mmmm, warm lettuce) was just the crowning achievement of the most wonderful gourmet meal Denny’s had to offer. I will never be back to any of their locations and strongly discourage everyone from doing so too.

This is the weirdest service I’ve ever received at a diner ever. The front desk host is having everyone write their own names down on the wait list. I wrote Katie and he couldn’t decide if it said Katherine or Kathleen, but I understand sometimes people have a hard time with names so whatever. He asked a couple of waitresses if they would like to seat our party of five, and two of them shook their heads no. Finally he just had us sit. A waitress finally came over and brought us menus/silverware for 4 people, we asked for another set figuring she just miscounted, she looked around our table and said I only count 4. –_–

This was the worst meal I’ve ever had. Seriously i think it tops all the others. I’ve never had food poisoning or anything so.. yeah. This was the worst. I ordered the chicken and sausage quesadilla. It was spread to come with a side of ranch. The waitress asked if i wanted it and i had no idea. So there was a two minute conversation about it. Really if it comes with it and the customer isn’t sure just plop that tiny little cup in the plate. Ill tell you something it did come with; a huge puddle of grease. Given my choice the ranch would have been better. Grease aside, this just tasted like crap. I even opened it and the stuff inside wasnt great. The chicken was ok. That’s it. Next was moons over my hammy. A Dennys staple. This time bland and gross. The eggs were weird. Some parts darker in color than others. I feel like scrambled eggs at a place known for breakfast should at least have consistent color, yeah? No. And.. greasy. I was sorely disappointed and i don’t even expect much from dennys.

Worst wait no service. We were seated an no one ever took our order after a few minutes our little one yelled where is our waitresses. There were two cleaning tables and one organizing menus. They didn’t even look. After we walked out my mom went back in and talked to a manager who just said sorry and walked away. Never again! They were not even busy

I can’t believe that this is the only place around that serves late night meals to drunks. No bueno Macomb County. Huge thumbs up to our waitress though. She handled herself around drunks and she was actually very pleasant. She had a lot of patience and filled up our waters like crazy because we were drunk and dying of thirst. Typical Denny’s: good drunk breakfast food with the typical late night drunk crowd: girls with smeared makeup, guys on their phones trying to hook up, people trying to stay awake, short skirts. just a hot mess of people. It’s a joy to people watch. Live in the area and want a quick hot meal before hitting the sheets after a long night of drinking. I would recommend Dennys.

We once ordered take out on Christmas which was it’s own story in its self. But today we ate in for the first time, took a while for four of us standing around To be seated. No silverware on the table until after we we’re served our drinks and I asked, needing to stir my coffee. Food came out pretty fast, nice table, comfortable seats, and a nice waiter. I ordered a make your own slam the oatmeal was pretty blah but once I added brown sugar and milk it was better. My bacon was missing at first and my plate had looked like hash browns were poured on and then scraped off, finding pieces in my eggs. Another flaw is they pour the creamer Into almost mini pitchers, ran out pretty fast never got it refilled. Had to ask for our drink refills also. The eggs were good, fruit was good, bacon — decent. Took awhile to get our bill I’d give this place more of a 2.5 but am giving the benefit of the doubt. Might return only if IHOP and Big Boy are to busy. There’s just to many better options on Hall honestly.

This was not an impressive showing by Denny’s. If Anthony Bourdain’s «Kitchen Confidential» is to be believed, a restaurant’s cleanliness can be judged by the cleanliness of the bathroom, the logic being that is is much easier to keep a bathroom clean and sanitary than it is a kitchen. The bathroom here was an absolute mess, like it hadn’t been attended to in days. Aside from that, the carpets in the restaurant were filthy. There was food and bits of other stuff all over the floor. There were stains all over the carpet(might I suggest investing in a carpet shampoo machine or renting one from Sam’s Club). The table we sat on got a wipe down, but there was still dried bits of food on it. The silverware was a bit suspect as well. Considering all of these points, I wasn’t too confident that the kitchen was up to par and ate my food hesitantly. Probably will not be revisiting this particular location again based on my observations.

I love this one great friendly service great food clean atmosphere what more can you ask for in a Denny’s. Chocolate shake and nachos compliments my awesome lunch here at Denny’s Lakeside Mall Sterling Heights MI. For company I have my brother who orders seafood sandwich and a diet coke. So I get fatter and my brother has lunch before he pushes off to work.
