Wanted a place to have Thanksgiving dinner since there is just the two of us these days. Saw that the Best Western had a buffet. Called and made reservations. Though it was just the hotel restaurant. When we got there we realized that it was being held at their HUGE banquet facility. We walked in and they had a check in table waiting. With very little wait time, we gave them our name, paid for our dinner and went to get in line to be seated. The line took about 5 minutes. There were LOTS of people with the same idea we had obviously. Saw that the entire facility was open and lined with rows of tables and large round tables that seat 8. Thought, oh we are going to have to sit with others, but I was ok with that. We were seated at a table for six where they quickly cleared 4 settings away. It was only going to be us. Perfect! Down the middle of the hall were two rows of food. On either end were huge stations; one with desserts and one with all the meat carvings. They had every cold salad and salad fixing imaginable. Side dishes from au gratin and mashed potatoes to carrots and butternut squash. Plus lots more. Then sauerkraut and sausage, chicken, and bbq brisket. Then on to the carving stations with ham, turkey, and roast beef. Meanwhile the excellent waitstaff kept our soda pitchers full and our dishes cleared. Then it was time for dessert! Close your eyes and imagine every pastry you’ve ever seen. Well there you have it. Every flavor cake, pie, cupcake, and cookie you could want. Plus, pastries, mousse and candy. At the end, and my only disappointment, fresh fruit and all kinds of yummy stuff to dip in chocolate sauce and caramel sauce, but the chocolate sauce was just a bowl of Hershey type syrup. Fruit was good though. :) $ 57 for two of us. No clean up, no fuss. I highly recommend it. Saw large families enjoying it as well as lots of couples. Two thumbs up. Will go back. What a brilliant idea to use your empty banquet facility. Well run and everyone was helpful and friendly.

This is the kind of hotel that scares people off of Priceline. I recently stayed here for two nights after reducing my star rating on Priceline from 3.5 to 3. When I checked in, the staff at the front desk were helpful and friendly. The lobby was clean. No problem, I thought. Then I asked for a quiet room. They gave me a room in a quiet wing of the hotel. The room’s size was adequate, but much of the room looked as if it hadn’t been updated since the 80’s. The carpet was worn, the sofa lumpy and uncomfortable. The mattress, however, was fine. And the TV, the most important appliance to the business traveler after wireless, didn’t work until someone from the hotel came up to jiggle some wires. Speaking of wires, did I tell you that when I went to plug in my laptop that all of the outlets were loose? They had outlet covers, but I’m assuming that the electrician was either incompetent of lazy. I thought it was a better idea to run down my battery instead. So while there’s nothing alarming about my stay: no hookers in the hallway, no roaches, no bedbugs … this is one drab, dirty and broken down hotel. Its location across from the Chrysler stamping plant is appropriate. Just as Chrysler needed the Italian Stallions from Fiat to save it, this hotel needs some kind of angel to come and clean it up before it decays a little more and turns into a giant crack house with flat screen TVs. Again, if you’re using Priceline, be careful if you’re selecting Sterling Heights/Warren. This dump is a three-star hotel according to Priceline, so you’ll want to stick to 3.5 stars or above.

We had our reception in 2010 here and we loved it. The wedding planner Jennifer is amazing.
