Before I give you my quick review for the Beer Diviner, be advised that the address attached to this listing(15950NY Rt.22, Stephentown, NY12168) is not accurate. As of this writing(2÷18÷16), the address has not been changed. The actual address of the Beer Diviner Taproom is: 243 Bly Hollow Rd, Petersburg, NY12040. The Beer Diviner Taproom is roughly an hour from downtown Albany and is certainly worth the drive. During our visit, we sampled the porter, stout, pale ale, IPA, and red ale. Each of the brews brought something a bit different to the table and the most notable was the Ancestral Red Ale. The Red was aromatic and flavorful with obvious notes of ginger and orange peel. As a person that doesn’t love flavored beers, the Ancestral Red managed to strike the perfect balance. A flight of beer, with a few additional refills, and a sampling glass came to about $ 20. The Beer Diviner accepts cash and credit. The Taproom itself is a bit difficult to find, as there were no visible signs outside. This made for a bit of a frustrating journey, but the reward was so sweet. The owner, Jonathan, is a fantastic guy. He was personable and accommodating. His journey into brewing is an interesting one and worth asking about. I look forward to my next visit in the summer months, when the taproom will expand seating to an outdoor deck.

Great selection of beers. Very interesting styles. Everyone here is very friendly. Being a farm brewery the also sell several NY state products; wine, coffee beans(infused with stout beer), soap, spirits, etc.

This is a find… great beer and local atmosphere! Excellent craft beer, and if you time it just right, they’ll be passing out some sausages right off the grill.
