Unfortunately after our recent stay and the current events surrounding the negative commentary on cycling and cyclists, I am updating my review. We had a group outing for Labor Day weekend where we had a handful of RV sites and one large tent site reserved. In addition, we also had a float reservation as well. All that was fine and dandy. The problem surfaced when we started crunching numbers on what was paid and by whom and noticed that we had been overcharged at least twice for the camping fees. One of the members of our group did attempt to contact TRC to explain the situation. The person he spoke with was rude and very unsympathetic to THEIR mistake. The person on the phone refused the request for a refund on the amount we were overcharged and basically said we should have taken care of it while we were there. The problem is — we all came in from different destinations and were not aware of the overcharge until after everyone had returned home on Monday. After I had done additional research on Tuesday, I also noticed that I had been overcharged as well. We also believe that one other member of the party was overcharged. After their initial response and obvious refusal to work with us, we did not bother calling back again as they seemed adamant on not issuing any sort of refund. In regards to the public post made on the Fox2 Facebook page, this was in reference to a cyclist who was struck by a car while riding in the Creve Cour MO area earlier this week. I am only including this because I am also a cyclist. I find this to be very unprofessional and insulting — especially the last sentence stated. Unfortunately — their disapproval of cyclists and cycling commuters on top of the failure to address the overcharge issues is a deal breaker. We will not be coming back to the Rafting Company for any future camping or floating excursions. The Rafting Co. Camping-RV River Resort Okay…If you think it to so necessary to ride a bike on a street that has heavy traffic, then maybe the cyclist should have to have running lights, turn signals, brake lights, head lights and a cycle license plate.
