We got a flight of beer so we could try all of their beers. All of the beers were very different and creative in their own right. The blueberry beer was the most interesting of all. It had a strong smell of blueberries so I was expecting it to be sweet but it wasn’t. Also they have a «blacklight» combo where you combine the blueberry beer with their black IPA for a whole new taste. The location is good just wish their«beer garden» was more of garden with decoration of some sort instead of just a parking lot with a fence around it. They do not serve any food other than chips but you are highly encouraged to bring your own food to share among friends which I really like. I like this brewery just wish it was in a more scenic setting but very cool for downtown Staunton

Nice tasting room and pleasant staff! The beer was also incredible. They also had ethnic snacks to go with the beer. I plan to purchase a growler next time I visit!

Redbeard’s has the atmosphere and beer styles I look for in a micro(nano?) brewery. I’ve only been once, and had an enjoyable time visiting with various people at the bar(locals and out-of-owners), as well as the bartender. Redbeards seems to be a little more experimental with their beer, which I like(there are plenty of commercially available«ordinary» beers). I had their saison, IPA, and a black IPA. All were good, on style, with a slight twist. I even bought a growler of their black IPA. Redbeard’s will be a must stop the next time I’m in Staunton.

A great place to grab a beer in downtown Staunton. While I admit that I was not the primary target audience for most of their beers(they trend toward the hoppy) their reasonable prices and relatively wide selection make this the other brewery that I would recommend if you are in Staunton. They often have a food truck nearby on the weekends(because the only food you can get at the bar is some potato chips) and they do allow you to take outside food into the bar to eat while enjoying their beers. I like the homey feel of the place, when I was there a bunch of people were on one of the tables playing a board game.

I got the flight, it was a good selection of flavors but the beer just seemed flat. No choices for the wife except water, Coke and Diet Coke.

If you care even a little about ambience you are in the wrong place. The beer is as good as advertised. And they don’t serve food.

I’m into any place that has craft beer and board games. Awesome selection of some very unique brews that has something for everyone. This included a variety from slightly sour Belgians like Saison Farmhouse Ale to richer, boldly flavored Stouts. My husband and I did a flight, but also ended up staying longer to finish our game of Othello and ordered a few more. On a Friday night, it was quite lively with a vibrant crowd that ranged in age. Most stayed around all night, settled into their spots. Bartender wasn’t able to chat as much because it was so busy, but when he did have a moment, he’d give me tips on how to win my game. If I lived nearby, it seems like the kind of place where I’d be a regular.

We recently spent a weekend in Staunton and Redbeard Brewing was our favorite part of a great trip! All the beer we tried was really good and unique. The prices were very reasonable and I liked that there were several different size options for a draft. We also enjoyed the live music on Sunday night. Next time I’ll remember to bring my own snacks and my dogs! Such a fun place — wish they’d open something like this in Northern VA!

Another treasure in Staunton, the coolest small town in Virginia. This brewery has been«in the works» for at least 2 years and it was worth the wait. The pub is in an old renovated warehouse, and there is an outdoor patio in the back for indulging in the brews while watching the occasional train go by. The bar inside is the typical rectangle you find at other brew pubs. The lack of TV is a welcome addition. Well, there is a TV here, but it was turned off when we visited. A huge no-no for the Northern VA area, but a typical occurrence in this town. You won’t find many ballcaps, flip flops and sports jerseys here. What you will find is: 1) Friendly bar tender who possesses that long-lost trait called«personality;» 2) A generous«bring your own food in» policy; 3) Route 11 chips, local cheese plates and other finger food if you didn’t bring your own food(well priced); 4) a most unusual and fun iPod music mix; 4) friendly locals who don’t treat you like an outsider for not being a regular(O’Sullivans Pub and Jimmy’s in Herndon, I’m talking to you); 5) fantastic beer. This is a nanobrewery so unless you want a growler to go, don’t expect to buy a six pack. But we understand that could be changing through a partnership with another Virginia brewery. Just another reason to visit Staunton more often. As if we needed another reason…

We stopped by to try a flight of their beers. My boyfriend is a huge beer person, while I am not, but I loved most of the beers we tried! The bar staff was really helpful, and the pricing was great! They will even fill growlers for you of any of the beers you like! We found out that you bring your own snacks while you visit, and will defiantly be doing that next time we are in town!

Great beer and great atmosphere. If I lived here, this would be my local watering hole.

I’m a beer geek and recovering home brewer. I could go evangelical about the brews here. Everything I sampled a couple of weeks ago was spot on to style and as close to flaw free brewing that I have ever tasted across a flight of sampling at a tap room or brew pub. Nicely done brew master. The brew master’s wife, Fara, was pulling the taps and took great care of us while filling is in on the history or Genesis of red beard. This micro micro is worth a visit real beer lovers.

Great beer, great atmosphere. They allow dogs and you can bring your own food. Always enjoy myself here. It’s a nice mix of locals and tourists. The owner is local and has a great beard. He knows his stuff. Just go.

FANTASTICBEERS! If you are in the Staunton area make sure you stop by! This was our first trip and we tried the flight; all their beers were flavorful and I am not a fan of pale ales usually, but this one was decent. My favorite hands down was the Brown. They don’t bottle yet, but they do growlers. Also, they do not serve food, but you can have take out delivered right to the brewery or you can bring your own food. Great find!
