If you love delicious, meaty, and flavorful wings please don’t pass this place up. They are incredibly done and not overpriced.

Wings are ok. Pizza is ok. Not anything special. (They are good). If your ordering out, want something easy and in the neighbourhood, staying at the nearby hotels, it works.
Foam plates, plastic cutlery, order at counter.
But would I drive out of the way? no.

Finally stopped in for a bite after passing by about 15-​gozillion times. Must say that I am thoroughly impressed with the food! Not sure why, but my expectations were a bit on the low-​ish side, so I am always happy when I am pleasantly surprised. Very excellent beer selections, albeit only in bottle form… big downer. The service is good, if not a bit on the not-​so-​personal side… you have to pick a seat and then get back up to order at the counter. Overall I would say you cannot go wrong for a pop-​in bite while trolling glorious Statesvegas. Have to come back to see if the pizza is as good as advertised… certainly intend to do so soon!

We stopped here on a road trip on a whim and it was surprisingly good. It is a smaller mom and pop type pizza joint and was pretty busy for a monday night. Food was pretty good and service was fast and friendly. I thought it was a hair exspensive but most pizza places are.

Is the pizza the best ever… no, but it is very good. Outstanding beer selection.
We have only tried the pizza and wings which are all very good. Have not tried the burger, but I have heard that it is excellent. I just feel if you are called Pizza & Wings then maybe that is what I should be ordering. If I want a burger I will go to a burger joint. There are only 3 wing flavors so this is not Buffalo Wild Wings. The feature is pizza and craft beer.
Nice cozy spot to relax and enjoy a pizza and cold beer. When the weather is nice you can set outside. However, they are next to a major road so the traffic noise does get heavy at times. Give it a try I am sure you will enjoy it. They are located right off I-​40 at exit 151.

We ate here tonight after buying a car and Randy M. Chevrolet. I had read the other reviews before going in so I was fully prepared. We were pleasantly surprised with a nice waitress, the wings that were hot and wet, and wide selection of craft beer. We tried 3 different kinds. It’s a quaint place with character, even my 11 yo daughter mentioned how cool the place was. I would eat here again definitely. The only constructive criticism is that there is only 3 wing flavors. They could make more choices like garlic and super hot.

Wings are awesome, buffalo sauce is as good as any i have ever tasted. Pizzas are really good and the salads. Highly recommend, Service has always been good for me and i am from out of town.

Olde 1849 is a hidden gem for locals, particularly for the food — not the personalities that work there.
First the burger is perhaps the best burger in Statesville and beyond. Very large, juicy, char-​grilled to your specs, at least a half pounder. Very juicy and tasty and fresh off the grill. None better in Statesville for sure.
Second the Memphis rub wings are perfection! Well done and very tasty with a good mix of legs and wings. Just ask for extra napkins cause they are loaded with sauce!
Lastly, the only thing lacking here is a consistent service. It is easy to understand some reviewers comments about being treated bad because they are not a local. I tend to agree, even though I am a local. I have been in there numerous times but always feel like its my first time. But yet if I go in with another local that the owner knows, she is far different! I give it a pass cause the food is worth it.
If the owner can get out of her own way, this gem would be hard to get a seat in. Go for the food — ignore the service!

Quick stop for a salad on the drive to Charlotte. It was okay– iceberg lettuce with some dried out looking vegetables. I didn’t try the pizza so I can’t comment on anything, but the salad. I doubt I’ll go back, but if I do I wouldn’t get a salad. Friendly staff and could have been a cleaner environment.

I don’t know where some people went but this place was #Amazing! From the IPA beer, to BB King playing in the radio, my experience was great. The wings were awesome to me. They were very different, so if traditional hot wings are what you’re looking for they might fall short, but awesome to me nonetheless. They were a mixture of BBQ/​hot wings with just the right amount of crispness and wetness. #Yum! I enjoyed it but then again I ordered a personal size pizza so I wasn’t expecting gourmet. I say try it, what’s there to lose, $ 10 – 20 bucks?

Great spot! The location was perfect for us on our road trip; we walked over from our hotel and were greeted by a stellar beer selection. Our other options for a sit-​down dinner were Cracker Barrel and Waffle House, so the ambiance alone — sort of pub-​style pizzeria — welcomed us.
I can’t speak to this restaurant’s location in relation to Statesville and its neighborhoods, but for travelers on I-​77 or I-​40 it’s a welcome change from the usual exit-​fare.
We ordered the Buffalo wings, and my husband enjoyed one of his all-​time favorite IPAs. The sauce was sweeter than we expected, but it grew on us. The wings were perfectly fried, though! Crispy, not greasy, hot and juicy. I loved them. They need a little more heat, but I loved them.
Then we had an 18″ pepperoni and bacon pizza. It arrived looking perfect. Thin, hand-​tossed crust just like I like. The flavor was so-​so because I think they skimp on ingredients. The sauce, cheese, and bacon were cheap-​tasting and then they finish with some Italian seasoning that adds little, leaving the whole thing pretty bland.
If you’re here, though, and reading this, please try this joint! You’ll enjoy a cozy break from the road that makes you feel you’re out for the night and not just a weary traveler. Maybe we had a bad pizza, maybe other things are better, maybe I have different preferences than you… I don’t think you’ll be sorry you tried it!

My friends and I came to our friends daughters wedding. Both of our families came from Sarasota, FL and Port Washington, WI. The ladies and a young child got out ahead of us entering the establishment. The young girl was wanting a hot dog and they had already ordered chicken fingers. The father and I entered and decided to get the young girl a hot dog and offered to pay for the food we had already ordered. The owner became very belligerent and rude. This situation escalated into a cusing match (nothing we were proud of). We then let the establishment only to find out the owner had turned us into the police for assault. This owner is very unstable and rude. There is better places to get Pizza!

Thought I’d like this place but found out it wasn’t for me. Mainly the staff was standoffish, and I felt like I didn’t belong there as I wasnt a ‘regular’. It was odd. Also, Im not a fan of styrofoam and plastic utensils if I’m at a sit down restaurant. Its not a food truck, come on.
All personal preference and feelings though. Don’t dismiss this place if these things don’t bother you.
Pro: the salad was good and theyve a varied selection of beer

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for so long and we were wanting pizza one night so got takeout from here. This is the most overrated pizza place. The reviews are so different compared to what we experienced. We got an 18 inch pizza with one topping on one half and the other half just regular cheese and 10 wings. The pizza was just bad. The pizza did not seem to have enough cheese on it and way too much sauce and spices. There were so much visible spice like someone went crazy shaking it on top of the pizza. It was very overpowering and did not make the pizza taste any better. The crust itself was dry. The pepperoni side had more cheese then the regular cheese which was odd. For the pepperoni topping we were charged the full price as if it covered the whole pizza despite it only covering half of the pizza. The wings which are boasted about having a great sauce tasted like nothing more then barbecue sauce, cayenne, and black pepper. The celery included tasted bad and seemed to be from the bits most people throw away instead of using. The only thing that was good was the Blue Cheese. It did not taste bad. This was the worst pizza I have ever have and I do not intend on ever returning. For reference we ordered on ¹⁰⁄₂₅ at 6:44 PM. Pizza was done in time with no issue, but the food itself was poor.

Worst service ever? Not by a long shot. Previous commenter needs to relax and pay attention. It’s an order at the counter joint. Ask for a cup.
Beer selection IS AWESOME! Not many places I can get Moylan’s Kilt Lifter.
Will I come back? Probably. Even if only for the beer.

Best pizza anywhere! I’ve never been disappointed in their food! And, oh my, the beer selection seems to keep growing!

This is a rare gem that I believe goes unnoticed to most tourists. If you want a cool setting with nice people, exotic beers and excellent gourmet pizza, then this is the place! A little pricey but completely worth it in my book. Closed on Sundays and Mondays they open at 4:30 Tuesday thur Saturday with indoor and out door seating. I’ve had their pizza, wings and garlic knots! Awesome. They also have salads and a rib eye steak special. They get in different beers so never have the same beer twice! If you are in the area, this is a good place to stop and relax!
