Southern Downs

Unilocal keeps wanting to take down my review because they claim that my information is second hand. Well, I’m the parent! I moved my son into his apartment for college at Georgia Southern. I saw the roaches. I wrote out the move-​in sheet. I may not have lived there but I sure as heck have a right to my opinion on the place and what they did to my son! My son is allergic to roaches and they had him stay until he was forced to go find another place to go live because The Downs would not put him in another unit that was bug free! This is unacceptable! This was my original post and it still stands:
I was there and this was my experience as well as my son’s. The place looks ok from the outside, but when you get in to the actual apartments you will realize that there are lots of extra room mates that you weren’t expecting or want crawling all over:(Disgusting to say the least. They tried telling my son that it was a minor problem and that he would just need to clean up more in the kitchen:/. Uh, he didn’t ever eat there because there were babies being hatched in the sink. After weeks of proving that my son did not cause this or that it was a problem that wasn’t going away any time soon, the management relented and allowed my son to move. The Forum at Statesboro is beautiful, has way more amenities, more options, and no extra unwanted room mates. It was great for my son to finally be able to fully unpack and move in and not feel like he had to sleep with a can of raid on his night stand:/.

I absolutely love it here! The beach front area is a great place to hang out or relax. The property has taken a drastic turn for the better from the previous management! The staff is amazing and I feel at home here. Definitely a must see!!!
