Sears Carpet Cleaning & Air Duct Cleaning

I should have come here before making an appointment to have my carpets cleaned.
After never receiving a call with my appointment time on the day of service, I finally called at 10;45 am to find out they would not be here until 3 – 6. I moved all my furniture – large and small – in preparation.
At 4 PM I get a call that their truck broke down and no one is coming. I was upset, understandably, and tried to argue that they should send a technician from one of the other 5 boroughs. I said they could even come after hours.
I was abruptly put on hold twice. The second time – after the operator audibly said «ugh” – was so long that I called on a 2^nd phone to see who would pick up first. Suddenly, both lines were disconnected at the exact same time. I called back and they had put their calls to their answering service.
So they cancelled my appointment and did not have the decency to finish the conversation or to reschedule.
These people are a joke.

Absolutely horrible. I had switched from Stanley Steamers to Sears because of a good deal that was being offered of $ 29 per room. I spoke with the sales rep over the phone and discussed fees. Was told there would be a $ 10 travel fee, as well as a fee of up to $ 19 a room for pet stains/​deoderizer. It came out to a total of $ 120. After the cleaners arrived, the total was then amounted to $ 254! I did accept, when I could have said «no thanks», but was obviously misled over the phone. My hallway which is literally 3 feet long was counted as an additional room. Then the next morning my dog had to be rushed to an animal hospital due to a severe reaction to the chemicals used. Within 24 hours he had to be taken there twice for steroid injections, and other medications. He had hives, was throwing up, and was very sick. There is absolutely NO warning that this may be unsafe for those with pets. I called Sears, and was told I would get a call back. NEVER DID. I called 4 more times, and left e-​mails. NO REPLY. Oh. and did I forget to mention that oon my first scheduled appointment, they never showed! I was then told I would get a 10% discount on my next service. That was never applied, even after other multiple calls. (This was a red flag I shouldn’t have ignored!) Sorry to ramble on… but want to warn others that not only is this company a rip-​off, it is incredibly UNSAFE if you own pets. I only wonder how dangerous this company’s chemicals are for young children! SCARY.-Colleen (Total cost of horrible experience=525.00, one bedroom apt cleaning)

HORRIBLE. I have used stanley steamers and they were OKAY so i was looking for something better. These clowns gave me a window of 3 hours (not a scheduled appt) then called after window and said the tech was running an hour late-​He showed up two hours late and when i buzzed him in, he actually said he was going to charge me to ride the elevator up to the 3^rd floor! I SAID «GO HOME»
fucking retards.

All that I can say is «Wtf?» how is a professional carpet cleaning company not going to vacuum the perimeter of a carpet before semi cleaning it? I was not asking for miracles by any means but these jokers were just that, jokers. Next time i will spend the $ 100 & buy a bissel in order to save my self the agrivation of seeing a job horribly botched. Two weeks later I am still mad at the crap ass job these dudes did. I used a cheap trash picked steamer that had a broken handel and it did a small square and guess what
? It extracted a ton of dirt. the carpet is two or three shades lighter. I am so mad that I used sears and with that being said I now have a huge chip on my shoulder where Sears is concerned. It is my sincere hope that Sears goes the way of Bradley’s, Woolworth, Gold Circl, Goldwater’s, Goldsmith’s, Hecht’s, Castner Knott, Strawbridge’s, Thalhimers, Wanamaker’s, & Woodward & Lothrop. Please Sears, just go away.

I paid a lot more by using Sears to clean my air ducts (over $ 400 compared to $ 88), but did so because I thought it would come with the peace of mind of a job well done… Boy was I wrong. Every corner in my apartment had the paint damaged where the air hose was wrapped around as it caused abrasions as it snaked around my apartment. I pointed the damage out to the technician, and be said there’s nothing you can do about that. If I knew that by having my air ducts cleaned my entire apartment would end up worse for the wear, I would have never had the work done. And since I don’t have touch-​up paint that matches the color of my walls, I was forced to by paint and paint my entire apartment. Never use Sears!!!
