PepperJack Grill

My bridal shower was booked there. Unfortunately for my maid of honor, we had a blizzard that day. She called to see what our options were, can we change dates or did they have a better alternative. The woman on the phone (not sure if she’s the owner or manager) started yelling about losing money if we cancel so my moh told her she’s not looking to cancel but with 31 inches and no parking lot she was looking for an upcoming day or something. The woman was so rude, not helpful at all and ultimately hung up! (It gets better) My moh called back to no answer. Multiple unanswered phonecalls later she finally got someone to pick up but the woman wouldn’t come to the phone. She started yelling in the background «it’s f**king canceled, just tell her it’s f**king canceled». How is that good business?!
You have no parking lot.
You have no valet.
You’re located near all small streets that don’t get plowed immediately.
We attempted to work with you to come up with a plan and you had no interest.
You are rude and unprofessional.
Thank you for making an already stressful situation worse with your antics. Great managerial skills.

Some chefs play it safe and get by. Others are daring, falter and close shop. Still others are daring and create those dishes that are unforgettable. Calamari sautéed in a sweet chili pepper sauce, as prepared by the folks at Pepper Jack? Legend. It’s on their appetizer menu but could easily become an entrée. The item, unique because calamari as an appetizer is usually breaded and fried, proved tempting because it was unorthodox. Sometimes giving in to temptation is worth the risk; it was today.
The entrée, a cacciatore chicken served on a sauce drenched bed of risotto, was almost anticlimactic, despite its savory mixture of herbs, spices, onions and mushrooms. The choices were mine, however. Still, alone, the Cacciatore Chicken was a filling and delicious meal, worth bringing home to finish on the morrow. Accompanied by the house Pinot Grigio, it held its own.
The atmosphere at Pepper Jack was augmented by the fireplace across from our table. Add some mellow classic rock over their sound system and an extremely attentive staff (not just our server, but all of them) and you can easily see yourself returning one day.
The menu is an interesting selection in American cuisine, with something for everyone. Pepper Jack is easy to find on Manor Road, across the street from the Armory. My bride had a sweet potato and apple soup that was savory and perfect for a cold brisk day, perfect for that post 3.6 mile hike in the woods. Her chicken pot pie was delicious and ample enough. Unfortunately, their portions left no room for dessert but that ain’t bad when the food is good.

I went to PJs when it first opened and it was very good. We went a second time and found it really, really bad and never went back. Went last night with a group and they really turned their game around. These wasn’t a single complaint among the 8 people that were at the table, and that’s saying something. Service, while a bit slow, was affable and tried to aticipate our needs. I’m really happy we have a new place to go to in he neighborhood again.

We found PJ Grill at a tent at the Westerleigh Fair this summer. Thought we’d try them out. Wasn’t disappointed. Atmosphere was nice. The food was great. Gormet Mac and Cheese! Service was excellent. I prefer drinking Guinness half and half. Had several on their drink menu.

they serve hot tea, I was not feeling well and it was not on the menu, they served with large mug not a tiny mini cup. Very grateful for that.
I had the pepper jack burger, the burger was good and got mash potatoes. There are no greens on the menu.
My friend had the ribs, a bit spicy for me however
restroom is clean.
The music is a bit loud very hard to carry a conversation

Great bar love the live music I have not had the opportunity to sit down to a full meal here at this bar /​restaurant yet but have been there a few times for a party
Last party food was served Buffett style with a few choices do not remember exactly what wss being served but it was. all delicious that I do remember
When I do have time I will sit down to dinner here one night hopefully soon
so until I sit down to a full meal I am cannot rate it 5 stars

Food was surprisingly good. The deliberate shabby sheek vibe is becoming genuinely run down and starting to feel like a true drive.
Drinks are exceptionally AWFUL. Don’t order booze here– I had two Kettle 1 and sodas and it was the equivalent of drinking a bottle of Poland Spring. Fake, watered down vodka that’s funneled into old bottles and overpriced. Bummer.

Came for Friday night dinner, awesome experience I’d say. Décor is unique they support local artists, you’re also allowed to draw on the table tops whoop whoop. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. He was on top of our drinks and made sure we were ok. Great service. Appetizers we ordered the traditional calamari, a bit salty for my taste, but they were gone in 10 minutes. Entrees. l ordered the pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce on the side. Amazing! Super delicious. Top it with coleslaw which was soooo good. My boyfriend ordered the Mac Daddy Wrap which was just as good. Great establishment only thing is took off a star for entrance. When you come in the main entrance in front of Manor that actual leads to the bar you’d have to walk around the bar into the dining room. I did notice that there is a side entrance which is for the dining area. It’s a must try here.

Everyone I know on Staten Island raves about this place so, naturally, I had to try it. Came here for lunch with a friend this afternoon and wasn’t impressed.
Service was really slow even though there were only five tables seated in the dining room.
One star for serving Flagship IPA.
Another one for their complimentary homemade potato chips & French onion dip.
One more for the Mac & Cheese.
Ordered the Sangria Chicken. Tasted like dish soap & was overly fruity. Large portion even though it was barely touched.
Friend had the Crab Cake sandwich & cleaned her plate, so she enjoyed it.
All in all, I could do without coming back.

Pepper jack grill was amazing!!! Every single thing we ordered tasted fresh… Out waiter Ryan is amazing. Honest and down to earth. Knew about everything on the menu (and he’s a ginger I love red heads) he was prompt and on point with EVERYTHING. He had the whole outside patio area and knew exactly what everyone ordered without writing anything down!
We left full and happy… And will Be back again and hope that we have Ryan as our waiter!
Everyone MUST try the wings perfectly cooked to perfection! My steak salad was perfect. They even mix the dressing in so you don’t have to do it yourself! Could not be more satisfied!

Pepperjack is a staple amongst my choices for dining in my area. The décor is very cute; the walls are lined with art by local artists that can even purchased. The tables are cover with white paper that help give it that casual, relaxed vine (they also have crayons on the table, allowing you to color on the table while you wait for your meal)
They frequently have live music, which can be seen performing behind the bar! Sometimes the music can be a little loud but during warmer months there is always the option to sit outside if noise is an issue!
The fried zucchini is to die for, I never pass it up when I come here with my friend! I usually get the bacon and Bleu cheese salad, I usually ask for no tomatoes but almost always still get them, but the salad is so tasty I don’t mind picking them out.
The staff is always friendly and helpful in examining the menu and make my dining experience all the more enjoyable! You definitely need to check this place out, if you haven’t already!

Just came back from a great lunch with my wife. The buffalo chicken appetizer wraps are insane!!! Food portions are more than generous, the atmosphere is light and fun, and the staff was very nice.

Such a good spot for a boozy brunch ! The food is really good, service was great, and the cocktails were yummy too ! Can’t wait to go back next time ! Really wanna try the chicken and waffles !

I tried this place on few occasions, but today they went above and beyond. The food was delicious on so many levels. My my beautiful pregnant wife was craving lamb chops with fresh polenta. Even though they didn’t have it on the menu they made it for us on short notice for lunch.
Thank you pepperjack grill, we will be back.
The fries that they give you at the beginning with the dip are very good.

My envy of Staten island is starting to gain some momentum.
Pepper Jack Grill definitely deserves a 4 ½ star for the freindly staff and quick service.
the colorful outdoor seating adds to the vibe and the music was a bonus. but that was for a private party. hence we were seated inside.
We were greeted right away and got comfy while they brought out chips and dips, outrageously delicious.
ordered 2 main dishes
buffalo mac n cheese holy cow, blew my taste buds.
Turkey chili Taco Salad was freshly made.
for drinks we started off with the white rabbit and the piano man, the rest is history.
love this place will be back soon.

Had a great dinner here with my boyfriend. Attentive and friendly service. My boyfriend had the surf and turf burger. I had the ribs and apple dessert. Everything was delicious. The manager was welcoming, attentive and helpful as well. I requested information on the party rooms and she helped me right away also answered all my questions. This is definitely a nice neighborhood restuarant with alot of cool events during week. Definitely worth a visit. I know I will be back here more often.

As frequent customers of Pepper Jack Grill, it pains me to have to write this review. However, I must because the service we received there last night is a slap in the face to their patrons.
As people who live in he neighborhood, we look forward to supporting our local small businesses, so when we sat down and listened to the live music in the background and ordered our burgers alongside our two friends we couldn’t wait to eat! However, as my wife took what must have been her 10^th bite into her burger, she noticed a long, wiry hair stuck in the chopped meat.
We normally don’t have unrealistic expectations or weak stomachs so she went to just brush it aside until she realized it was mixed in with the chopped meat. Still giving PJ’s the benefit of the doubt, she put that piece aside, decided NOT to make a big deal of it and to keep eating. However it was only a few bites later when she bit into ANOTHER hair of the same length and texture; this one ALSO mixed in with the chopped meat.
At this point, we thought it was appropriate to give the hostess a head’s up. She came over, listened to the story of the hair, treated it as if it was no big deal, and kept it moving. I obviously could not stomach the thought of finishing the rest of my burger (which I only ate a quarter of at that point.
When we got the check, nothing was taken off the bill. We were expected to pay for both burgers, with no apologies! Oh, but wait, they were kind enough to not charge extra for the hair. As if that weren’t bad enough of an experience, the bill with money atop it went unnoticed for at least another 20 minutes. I was really hoping PJ’s made it right. What a disappointment.

Attended an afternoon bridal shower here. There is street parking so be aware. I must have walked in the bar side because I wasn’t greeted by a hostess and there were no signs point to the private room in the back where the party was hosted. Not a great first impression.
The private room was very quaint, cool in temperature, and very quiet compared to the restaurant which was a plus.
They gave us a salad, pasta, and a buffet of steak, chicken, potatoes, and mixed veggies. We also had a cake.
There was soda on the table, we were offered wine and mamosa’s. I don’t drink so I’m not sure if you could order from the bar but I’m sure if u asked they would have accommodated.
The food I had was very good. If they have their jack daniel’s steak or order off of the regular menu I would get that dish. It had a a lot of flavor but was not over powering.
They also seemed to have events at the restaurant. I believe April 8^th is Psychic night. I’m not from the area but it seemed like a fun place to go out.

Pro:
–There’s a lovely older (I believe blond) women who works the bar and she knows how to make great drinks! All the bartenders are really friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Really nice for brunch or drinks with the girls. Pretty much everyone in the staff is pleasant. Another plus, they offer a good assortment of Gluten free opions, which many places on Staten Island do not (unless you want a salad) !

— The wait for your meal to come is OUTRAGEOUS! We had an 7:30 reservation. We ordered out appetizers and main course, and the appetizers came out 20 minutes later, while the main coarse came out 40 minutes AFTER the appetizers. I understand that everything is made fresh but that wait time is a little to excessive.
I wasn’t crazy about the food, personally I did not see anything special or note worthy about it, nor anything bad to complain about. It was just OK.
