Holiday Inn Staten Island

First I have to say that the hotel was obviously new, and the amenities were actually quite good. Clean, everything worked. The restaurant was not so great. We ate breakfast there twice. Food was bland. The oatmeal was like glue, and there wasn’t a lot of choice.
But the real reason I wanted to write a review is that it was very noisy. There were lots of young families with screaming kids at all hours. I found out from one of the employees that this hotel takes overflow from the homeless shelters, in exchange for a stipend from the City of New York. That’s fine. I wasn’t worried about my safety at all. It was the noise. They should put the homeless folks on different floors from paying guests. Also, when we booked our room through Travelocity, it said refrigerators were in the rooms. When we got there, however, there was an empty cabinet with no refrigerator. I called and asked several times, and was told that they had a limited number of refrigerators. We never got one. We tried to keep our yogurt cold with ice, but the ice machine on our floor (4^th) wasn’t working. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel unless they can work out the above issues. The staff was, overall, nice, though the front desk people did not appear happy.

It’s clean and has everything that you need for a basic hotel. But what caught our attention is the EXCELLENT CUSTOMER service especially of the reservations team and manager. We had problems with the house we have booked for our WEDDING PREPS that my husband had to call five hotels around the area at 1 am before our wedding. Holiday Inn was the only one who heard us out and understood our situation, and let us come in early the next day. Not everyone does that. We will always remember this hotel for the excellent service and real sympathy they have for clients. :)

Had a comfortable stay. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was friendly. Liked that they had the business center, perfect for printing tickets. I would definitely be staying here again on my next trip to the east coast. The only thing I didn’t really liked is that every day there were the same men just smoking and drinking beer outside the hotel in the restaurant area. They might’ve been the owners, idk. Kind of creepy to have them look at you every time you left and came in the hotel.

Worst experience i had with this lousy Hotel, bad service bad room service, i came late at around 12 midnight and the room was not serviced, the toilet would not flush, bathroom sing flooded, called the front desk, the answer was no one is here right now for service, ask for bath towels non in the bathroom they said will send you some, after 45 minutes went down stairs i got them myself, and i asked why the room was not serviced the manager said we are very busy and short of staff did not have time, and i tried to sleep after having a long day in the city, now the drama started, the staff are cleaning next room about 1 am banging shouting and vacuums noises, i called the front desk again telling them we cant sleep to much noise in here, she said will tell them to be more quiet, nothing change till 4 am, i had enough just got up and left, i complained next day for all the problems instead giving us credit she double charged us next night, Beware Beware do not go here, had very bad experience it would be a cold day in hell before i come back to this hotel,

It’s new it’s clean it’s accommodating.
Has a gym but does not offer free continental breakfast, this place would be much better if it had breakfast included in the absurd cost.
Instead of putting the loudest washer and dryer in the middle of the hallway so the entire floor in here it should probably be kept on the first floor where people are trying to sleep. Very poor design by some idiot.

This Holiday Inn is fairly new. The room is a decent size. Front desk and restaurant staff are friendly. Have had a few housekeeping issues. Pricing is a fair price.
