First Impressions

I’ve been coming here since I was 15 years old. The service is excellent and tony loves to get to know his customers on a personal level so when you come in you feel recognize and at home. I used to go to Brittany but she ventured off to jersey and opened her own salon. I’ve gone to Vanessa and Dory and they are both great. I am looking forward to a cut from Tony himself as well. I never left disappointed. The service is cheap. Probably the cheapest with the great quality. The hair cut for a woman is about $ 30-​$ 35. Which is excellent compared to all the $ 50 over priced salons. You will be happy here.

I recently moved to Manhattan, however, one thing I refuse to change is my hair salon. First Impressions is the only place I have found that I have liked in my three years of living on Staten Island.
My typical routine is platinum blonde highlights (sometimes low-​lights), cut, and blow out. The owner, Tony is my stylist. I have gone to him for three sessions now and have been satisfied every time. The dye does not fade or turn red as I found other salons have. Most importantly, the spacing between each highlight is pure perfection. It is just enough space to view both contrast colors in my hair. Additionally, Tony foils the exact same pieces as he did in my previous session. This allows for my entire strand of hair to remain one color. This technique has been hard to find in other salons I have tried.
The price is the best way to end your experience. He has one of the best prices I have found for the process I have described above. I highly recommend his salon and am grateful that a friend recommended him to me.

i’ve been coming here for years and have had varying experiences. I get my hair cut by Vanessa, but sometimes she’s not working the only day I can come in so I’ve gotten my hair cut by others as well. Haircuts are cheap, that’s for sure, but again the results have been mixed. Sometimes I really love my haircut and sometimes I think she doesn’t do a great job. This time it was only ok.
