Last time I ordered from their«take out» location the food was not good! So I thought I would give them another try for Super Bowl 50. First off, full rack of ribs and 2 sides=$ 31! Second, only 1 girl working phone and counter! So after waiting about 15 min a guy brings out a bag of food, puts it on counter. The girl looks at it and moves on. So after another 10 minutes of waiting, she looks at the same bag(now sitting there 10 min.) and calls my name. I said to her,” how long has that been ready”? Her response,” I don’t know”. Now I get home to watch the big game. The ribs borderline«poison» some were dry and flavorless, and others were all covered in gelatinous fat, but not one good one in the bunch! Then I open a greasy paper bag filled with French fries and about 2 – 3 table spoons of salt. Next was the baked beans. Not bad by comparison. Overall one of the worst meals of my life! I will not be going back!

My wife and I usually enjoy Daddy O’s every time we come. The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding. On our most recent visit I had one complaint the egg on my burger was under cooked and the chef refused to cook the egg further when I sent it back. As a paying customer I wasn’t happy, but Grace(our server) saved the day! She offered to Microwave the egg to get it cooked some more. My burger was perfect after she came to the rescue! Overall, Daddy O’s is a solid restaurant with great food and service(Grace is truly awesome), but the chef should be cooking items to customers requests. Not cooking an egg more at a customers request is like a chef saying I only cook steaks rare!

Best BBQ place I’ve ever been to! One of my best friends came up to visit from the south and is not easy to impress. He ordered the brisket platter and was shocked by how delicious and juicy it was! The brisket here is definitely the best I’ve ever had. Nachos are top-notch as well — sometimes I’ll stop buy after work just because I’m craving their nachos so bad!

Was craving BBQ one night and went to the only one around. I heard a lot of good things about the place and decided to bring the fam. There is no denying, they give you a ton of food. However, it wasn’t that great, sadly… Wife and kids were not into it either. I expected much much better. Little bit of a let down.

One star isn’t low enough for this horrendous place. The hostess was pleasant and that is the only nice thing that I have to say about this place. My family and I went here for my younger sisters birthday. It took our waitress over 15 minutes to finally come over to us and take our drink order. I find this a little rude considering the restaurant was not crowded at all. After another 10 minutes of waiting for basic drinks(soda & water), she finally took our order. Out of 4 different meals which consisted of ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and a sandwich no one like their meal at all. This was extremely aggravating because the prices are WAY to over priced for shitty food. I can guarantee I will never come back again.

I have been here a few times now, the service ranges from fair to poor. The barbecue is not too bad for NY, but far from truly authentic. I guess considering the lack of BBQ establishments there is not too much in the form of competition. A decent place to stop by for lunch and a beer, but not a go to place to impress.

Puke I think I am going to be sick. I know this is Staten Island but do you people really think this is good barbecue ? Ordered the nachos and they came soggy with pump fake cheese on it. The chill they added looked like something my dog threw up . Ordered a combo(chicken and ribs) with barbecue on both. The chicken was passable nothing special but the ribs were dry like they had been made last week and were like eating paper. The side of beans was terrible and the corn was dipped in fake butter. Now I have to go to the bathroom to puke and my underwear is wet. I hope they didn’t serve me monkey meat and I have Ebola now.

‘Holy sh*t’ is all I have to say about this place. The meat was buttah. The drinks were divine. Service was on point. Clean and fun atmosphere with the 70’s music going on in the background. Just — wow. I’ll be back for sure.

I always get the same every time I come. The baby back ribs and pulled pork platter with sides of wild rice and fries. My wife gets the brisket platter. Whatever you order, you can’t go wrong.

…this place is amazing! Finally was able to try it after wanting to go to this for a long time. I didn’t want to try the New Dorp take home spot until I tried the official main location and I have to admit this place is everything amazing and more like people say it is… we ordered the family feast which includes baby back ribs, St. Louis ribs, chicken, brisket, pulled pork, sausage, sweet potato tots, fries, Coke slaw and corn Cobb. My fave is St. Louis dry rub Ribs. cooked with perfect taste and season to make you dream about it at night… the brisket is amazing as well! Worth every penny and the food is said to be good for 4 but really 10 lol! A must try And much needed good BBQ spot in the island!!!

Visited this place about a month ago and haven’t left a review yet. But let me tell you. Even though I’m not in New York anymore, this place has left its mark on me. I went here with 7 friends I believe and we had some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. We started with a few plates of their Nachos and they were fantastic! They got to the table and were gone in a matter of minutes. As for the meal itself I got the shaved brisket… My mouth is watering now just thinking about it. A huge heaping portion thrown on the plate and it was a great experience. Didn’t have a single problem while we were there. Thumbs up!

So a group spends $ 402.00 on dinner, $ 30.00 at bar before dinner and the server Greg adds $ 1.00 charge on the bill when requesting a new bread roll for a soggy pulled chicken sandwich… To the owner, I will tell you that $ 1.00 will cost you hundreds of dollars in the long run. You just lost a tables worth of business plus word of mouth. Great job we won’t be back!!! P. S. Not only only that but the server forgot to order the food for the birthday boy and the reason we even went to this place. Owner should check out«Give them the pickle» it will teach you customer service…

Terrible customer service. Wouldn’t take my MasterCard because it was prepaid. The manager actually pretended to swipe the card backwards just to say he «tried and the system wouldn’t take it» what a joke!!! I liked this place before but will not be back after this. PS– Receiving sarcastic messages from your wait staff is definitely NOT the way to rectify bad business practices. Unbelievable!

Went with friends. We were a party of 3. Went up to hostess and it was only 2 of us– the 3rd person was running late. The restaurant was empty with only 2 tables sitting. The girl told us we would have to wait until our whole party was present to sit! I said this place is empty — you must be kidding. We were about to leave and they said no ok we will seat you. The waitress comes to table and takes our drink order. We decide since our friend is running late let’s order appetizer. The waitress says I would rather you wait because you will mess up the kitchen. I was going to leave at that point. But our friend showed up and we ordered . The waitress was nice and friendly. The food was good. But they need to work on customer service. They have young kids working that need to learn how to keep the customer happy. I’m a former waitress and I would never talk to potential customers that way!

Food was good and very plentiful and the drinks were nice. It’s what you would expect from a BBQ place, down to earth and worth the visit. I would go back and have a good time with friends. Update — thought I had left 4 stars but accidentally left 3. It would have been 5 stars if the waitress hadn’t kept forgetting my drink. Although in fairness we were a very large party of about 15 people.

The taste of the food and Greg are the only reason this review is getting 2 stars. I get that the place is busy and there were 8 of us(4 adults and 4 kids) but we waited for about an hour… which isn’t bad. What was bad was there were so many people waiting when a group of 5 walked in. The guy who was seating people walked over to them and said«I thought that was you», gave them a big hug and 5 minutes later they were seated. I know we couldn’t have gotten seated at a small table but to make it that obvious when some people were waiting for almost an hour… that’s just disgusting. So, we finally get seated. It took a while for our order to be taken but we were ok with that being it was so busy. The adults and one of the kids ordered entrees, one of the kids ordered an appetizer and the other 2 kids ordered kids meals. About half an hour after we order they bring out the 2 kids meals. Then the waiting game starts. And goes on and on and on and on. The waitress not once comes over to tell us if our food is in the way. She doesn’t come to check in us at all. She sees we have no food but doesn’t even go in the kitchen to check in it. As a matter of fact she doesn’t even tell us the status of the food until we complained to her. So…we’re back to waiting. The 2 kids with the kids meals are now done and the other 2 kids are starving and eating the scraps that are left on the other kids plates. The guy that was seating everyone… especially his friends(while running to the bar to get another beer) walks by and we complain to him. Well, he gives us a line of crap about how our ticket is number 4 but he moved us to the front. When we ask about why the kids meals came out a half hour before the rest of the food he said that’s what they do. Really? So you want your customers annoyed when they get their food because the only thing you are achieving is pissing parents off when they are just starting to eat but the kids are done and ready to leave. Well, we finally get our food and it was really good. I can’t knock the taste of the food because it was good. But then there is the icing on the cake. The couple that was seated next to us had their order taken 10 minutes before the 2 kids meals came out… and they were finishing their food at the same time we were! I guess they were friends with the host too because it took us an hour just to get our food and it only took them 45 minutes to get their order taken, get and finish their appetizer, and get and finish their food. The good part of this whole experience was Greg who came to take our plates. He was so friendly and the only one who offered a sincere apology when we told him about our ridiculous night. He had us laughing and we left in a lighter mood… which is why this review has 2 stars instead of one. To sum it all up, if you are not friends with the excuse filled host that talks to you like you don’t have a clue, pack a protein bar or stop at McDonald’s before you come. If you have kids tell them NOT to bring the kids meals first. And if something is not right, don’t bother complaining if your expecting a sincere apology or for them to do anything about it. Oh, and here is a funny thing, they ‘comp’ the sodas for us but made us pay $ 1.25 for the gravy that was supposed to come with the chicken and waffle sliders! The food is good but not really worth all the crap that comes along with it. I’ll never come here again. And I will certainly never suggest it to anyone.

3.5 stars, but eh. The evening started out very well. The host was so friendly, and we were told it would be about 20 minutes. Ok, there were seats available at the bar, we sat and had some beers. They have over 100 bottled beers, which is awesome. The bartenders were friendly and prompt. If we were only having drinks and watching hockey, the review would be 5 stars. That being said, if you find yourself at the very end of Staten Island, and you want to watch sports and have some beers, this would be my choice. Ok, so now we go to our seats. The dining room was crowded, and loud. Our waiter Rob, was very pleasant and helpful. Refilled water automatically and sold us on the desserts. Our food came out, we got the 2 choice platter with baby back ribs and breaded catfish. For sides, we got baked beans, sweet potatoes and mac and cheese balls. The ribs were kinda cold, but the bbq sauce was sweet and tasty, better than the sauce at the table(imho). The skin(? Not exactly sure) On the ribs I thought was too chewy. I was expecting more melt in my mouth, even consistency of meat texture. We asked our food runner for tartar sauce, it never came. So Rob came back to check on us, and I asked him and he brought us the sauce, but by then I was too full of everything else. The catfish was very good. I also enjoyed the baked beans(which were homemade). But then, we were charged 50 cents for the sauce. Grimy. They also charge a $ 5.95 sharing charge. I think BBQ is one of those things that I will just hold off on eating until I visit St. Louis or Nashville.
