The people working are not always the best at customer service. Depends on the day and their mood, I guess. But they do have one of the best strawberry shortcake EVER! Parking is difficult. I usually end up crossing my finger and park of at the BK across the street. Kinda annoying, but it does the trick.

A very cute bakery, one I would want to come back to. The bakery has a decent location, there is parking on the residential streets nearby. The selection is extremely diverse, filled with cakes, cookies, assorted pastries, and pies, as well as some creative options. Everything is reasonably priced. The ambiance is slightly less modern, with wooden walls. The two items we tried needed a little more sweetness, so it may apply to their other items. We sample their freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Although the were slightly less sweet, they were strong cookies. They were thin, quite large, irregularly round(which means that they are homemade), and very tasty. We ordered an apple ring, which was very creative. Again, it lacked sweetness. But it was huge, the apples were yummy, and the crust was flaky. We enjoyed these two items and we would definitely trek back to eat here again.

My family and I have been getting all types of goods from here since a relative told us about it years ago. If you want to get your loved one a birthday cake or any kind of cake, check this place out. If you like red velvet, they got that here. I get it every year, it’s not super sweet nor is it plain. The atmosphere there is vintage(?), they have these old fans, phones and cash registers there that give it that vibe that they’re old school and friendly. Speaking of which, the staff are very polite and that’s what I appreciate about this place. They’re not expensive like Renato’s on Forest where a lot of people tell me they’re the best, but I personally think this place is better.

I have heard that Cake Chef had the best cakes for so many years. I have never ordered one until 2 weeks ago. I ordered a sheet cake for my daughter’s engagement party. I was worried because sheets are rarely ptetty. I took the plunge because I knew the reputation for taste would override a mediocre looking cake. Not only was the cake outstanding in taste, but the cake artist went above and beyond to make it pretty! I look forward to them making the wedding cake!

Love their chocolate chip croissant twist in the morning.(I forget the actual name but you get the idea.) Coffee is pretty good too. And the Brown Derby cake is my all time favorite! Very moist and amazingly delicious! Oh, and I love love their cannolis too! Best ones on the island! Everything is freshly baked. Come early. And don’t forget to call ahead so they can cater to order. Very friendly staff. CASH only.

I love this place! Their pastries are always fresh and delicious. The girls there are always very welcoming and nice. Its a small little place but they have a lot of variety. Their items are very inexpensive, and you can walk out with a huge box of pastries for under 20 bucks. They have cakes, doughnuts, scones, over 30 different cookies, and awesome cheese cake, and they are all GOOD!

I ordered a red velvet cake for my mother’s birthday. The person taking the order over the phone was pleasant in a Staten Island kind of way. He confirmed the details and the pick-up date/time and told me it would be cash only. When I picked up the cake, my niece ran in while I waited in the car. She thought the selection of baked goods looked good… and she is a professional cook. The cake was everything it should have been and more: luscious and moist with a generous quantity of cream cheese icing. The cake was nicely decorated and my mother’s name was spelled correctly. I would not hesitate to order another cake from the Cake Chef.

I ordered a specialty birthday cake for 25 people when I went to pick it up they handed me a cake that feeds 10. When I got upset the rude man helping me said. Lady just because you’re having a bad day don’t take it out on us. Omg also said they can’t do anything take it or too bad when I got more upset he ripped up my receipt threw my $ 45 at me and told me they don’t need my business. Another girl gave me my cake and a small second cake and I left needless to say I will never go there again.

Avoid, the employees are rude Staten Island slobs. Better off heading to Alfonso right down the street where the baked goods are better and the workers are super-friendly. How do you treat customers like a fly that’s annoying you? Yeah, guess what? You wouldn’t have a job if it weren’t for your paying customers! I won’t be back and suggest that you don’t waste your time.

Nothing even compares to how good Cake Chef is. I especially love their cream donughts or the Italian cheesecakes.

I recently purchased a 7 layer cookie cake, you know the Rainbow cookies with the red, yellow, green layers, for my cousins birthday. It was so good, I went back the next month and got it for my husbands birthday. It was rich, dense and delicious. A quarter sheet cake is $ 40 and was more than enough to feed 13 of us. On and off over the years, I have had cookies from cake chef and they are good. But this cake was so spectacular, I had to review it.

For only $ 15 you get a nice size pie with a lot of fresh blueberries over a delicious vanilla custard. I’ve never ventured to try anything else from here cause I’m so addicted to the blueberry tart pie. The parking sucks but it’s worth it.

I have gotten many cakes from here and have yet to be truly disappointed. On my last trip I got an apple horseshoe cake for my fiancé’s mother. I noticed Lobster Tails in the case and I wanted to get one until I was informed that it was cannoli cream inside. I do not like cannoli cream so I decided to pass, however the owner was nice enough to offer me a Lobster Tail to taste their cream. I must say I am hooked now. Thank you very much for the wonderful pastry I will be back again for more.

That cheese ring is GOLD. One of the highlight of my food adventures through the east coast. Got the red velvet cupcakes and the cannolis too, but the money maker and what will make us go back is the CHEESERING. If only they could ship them. Hopefully one day.

One of my favorite bakeries on Staten Island! You definitely need to try to Apple Horseshoe or the Walnut Kringle. Both are amazing and at $ 10 it’s a steal.

Best bakery on the island hands down! We always get our cakes from James! They are delicious. Wish they would have gluten free options besides flour-less chocolate cake(which is to die fort btw) but I remember the red velvet and my god it was amazing!

Looking for something to do this weekend? Have you experienced the cannolis or prosciutto bread from Cake Chef? No? Well, what are you waiting for? There are a few reasons why I feel as though Cake Chef wholeheartedly earns its five stars of merit: 1. Cannolis-delicious cream, chocolate chips, crunchy yet sturdy pastry. I was asked if I wanted powder sugar. As far as I’m concerned it should be a standard ingredient on the dinner table, along with bacon. 2. Prosciutto bread-They only have it on weekends, it is the only thing they import from Brooklyn, and it sells out quick. Here is why: It is crusty, yet light bread with delicious chunks of ham. Worth a road trip alone if you don’t live on the island! 3. The Service-I asked about the bread and was told that they didn’t have any since it was Wednesday but that I could always call on a Friday night and have them put some aside for me. What a bunch of sweethearts! 4. Prices-Although we only got cannolis, they were only $ 2 a piece. The place that I consider them to be the best around my way are $.75 more and nowhere nearly as good. Well done Cake Chef. You are as good as it gets!
