I recommend avoiding this business. The boiler unit installed was a model that has a very low efficiency rating. This translates into money being wasted each time the unit turns on. They removed the original cast iron piping and selectively replaced the header section with copper tubing – very poor design. Furthermore, the copper tubing was installed slopy, and facocked, and chances are will fail. They piped two equalizers in because they refused to remove one of the originals. The unit was slapped together and set on a sloppy quickcrete bed. The wiring controls were unfinished with just wire nuts, no emergency shut off was provided, just a local shut off on the unit. The drain plug was just a hose bib that was not extended below the return header, which is dangerous because you can scold your hand easily. The boiler cold water fill was piped without an manual by-​pass, and no back flow preventer.
Had I been home when this plumber installed the unit, I would have pointed out these items. But I have had to repair all of these items at my own cost and on my own time. When I called the company back, all i received was either an answering machine, or a fellow who told me that he is «very very busy» as he was talking me down. I wish services like Unilocal were around when I had my unit installed. This business slapped the unit in, got paid and never turn around to look back, and for these reasons, I give them a rating of 1, which should be a zero if zeros existed on this site.
