I love this place and it’s one of my go-to stores. So, the only reason I’m giving it a 3 star and not higher is because of the customer service you receive there. I got online to check availability for a pair of shoes and drove to target when I saw they were available there(a 25 mile drive for me). When I asked the sales lady who worked in the shoe department for help, she scolded me and said I should have checked before I came over. I explained to her that I did check because I didn’t want to make the trip for nothing. She gave me a huge attitude about just doing her job and when she scanned the shelf, they were there and in the back! Needless to say, she was not happy that she had to assist someone and actually get off her butt to help! I thought it was rude how she interacts with customers. I even thanked her profusely when she got them and she only replied with a grumble, «yeah» as she walked away. I believe her name was Pam and she works directly in the shoe department. There was another older woman there who was extremely helpful and deserves kudos for being so pleasant but I don’t remember her name. She’s an older woman with glasses and works in the apparels section.

This review is mostly about the pharmacy. I have never in my life experienced such phenomenal service in my life. These people are caring and extremely competent. They get to know you and look out for you. I now drive 25 miles to use them and it is worth every mile.

This Target is pretty dumpy. I’m not sure if this is an east coast thing, but this Target is still stuck in the 90s, with it’s neon waves that circle the store, old signage, and lack of grocery section. The employees aren’t always friendly(I have better luck with the younger ones), but the employees that are friendly are fantastic.

Typical Target – nothing special and nothing to complain about. It would be nice if their«snack bar» was upgraded to include Starbucks and/or a Pizza Hut express like so many other Targets have done. Pizza Hut would be nice since we don’t have one on this side of town.

Well now, it looks like there is a Target in State College! In my lifelong battle with Walmart, this place is an amazingly nice sight to see. This Target is located up North Atherton, so if you live close to campus, it is a bit of a pain to get to without a car. This shopping center is pretty sweet, with Wegmans, Dick’s, and of course Target right next to each other. Now this Target isn’t a Super Target, so you won’t find groceries and other things here that you can pick up at Walmart, but for everything else, it is amazing. At Target, I just immediately have a better experience, and feel better than I would at Walmart. There are much less trashy people roaming around here, and there is definitely much less of a crowd going on. I can finally shop for my goods without 18 year old kids running amok. On the downside, compared to Walmart, Target is not open 24 hours. If you have that crave for shampoo at 3am, sadly you cannot go to Walmart. Aside from the comparison to Walmart, this Target is pretty much the same as every other Target across the nation.

This review is specifically for the pharmacy area and the young man(pharmacist) who was on duty 8÷22÷12 in the evening. He waits on me a lot and is always friendly, helpful, genuine, and understanding. There is an Indian girl pharmacist there that I do not like. I think her last name is Patel. She is very gossipy and condescending.

Yeah, I’m the dope reviewing a Target… but if you live in State College and you don’t shop at Walmart, you probably understand why I’d call this particular Target«as good as it gets.» I use the pharmacy here for my regular prescriptions, and they’ve always been helpful with navigating insurance issues and notifying me about refills. I even got my flu shots here – and for half the cost of those offered at student health! Target also stocks really cheap baking supplies, and their sales in the kitchen department have occasionally bordered on visionary. Hey, Target – maybe, like the Walmart(s) and Wegmans here, you could someday be 24 hours too?
