Talented stylists and great customer service. I’m so happy how fast they usually get me in to schedule an appt. I usually do my hair with Jessica she fixed my hair after i struggled from old cheap hair dyes boxes that i used before at home lead to bad discoloration of my hair. She did an awesome job now i’m in love with my new hair color all nice and even regardless how great she is in styling my hair for occasions. My eyebrow i do them with Leila and always looked great using the threat. Overall very friendly and professional staffing.

Don’t let the location fool you, Leila knows what she is doing! My daughter(Bethany’s review is not«recommended») will only trust her with her eyebrows! I decided that I should give it a try. Like one other person said, she is a little quick to «attack my eyebrows» but I have seen her work and that is what I came there for! The upper did not hurt, below the brow did hurt a bit but not as much as if I had plucked them in my own. She did use a tweezer but only at the very end for one or two rouge hairs! Overall, extremely satisfied and will be going back!

Let me start by saying that I think my eyebrows are the best feature on my face, that being said it takes A LOT for me to trust someone to do them. I alsoget my eyebrows done a lot, so I’m very much used to the pain(most eyebrow threading I get, I can’t even feel it) but when I got my eyebrows done by Leila, it was beyond painful. I don’t think she used the right thread. I also usually get extremely clean and straight lines when I get threaded, but this time they weren’t as clean as I usually get them. One of the things I found most annoying was the PLUCKING! A GOODTHREADERDOESN’T EVENNEEDTOOWN A PAIROFTWEEZERS! I felt like I paid 12 bucks to have someone basically pluck my eyebrows. something I could have done at home myself.

Update: I’ve come back to Leila’s a few times for haircuts. They charge me $ 32 which is a good price for the level of service I get. When my hair gets washed, they wet all of it(not just the ends) and give a wonderfully feeling scrub with their fingertips. Leila and others working there have cut my hair and all have taken their time to meticulously cut my hair(which is always just trimming a half inch from the bottom). After the cut, they blow dry and style. The chairs are far enough apart that the service is personal.

I went here for a gel manicure for the holidays. I can honestly say that it was the worst manicure that I have ever had– poor nail preparation, uneven application of color, and the polish started peeling off after only 4 days, even though I was told that it would last for two weeks. I ended up having to do my own nails for Christmas. At 30 bucks a pop, this is nothing short of highway robbery. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else in State College to have your nails done.

This is the only place in State College that does threading which sucks. Being the only place that does threading puts us faithful lovers of threading in a compromising situation. I feel that every time I come in to get my eye brows threaded the only person that does the threading which is Leila the owner is always to important to high on her high horse to care and listen to what I want and how I want it. I mean I am a paying customer right? Leila is always very quick to attack my eye brows and starts threading them almost immediately as soon as I lay down. She never allowing me(the customer) to express what I came in for and what I want. Its like she is to busy and to important to care. She gives me the vibe that she is doing me a favor by being available which I find it to be very rude and unprofessional. It’s obvious that she knows that she is the only person in State College to offer threading which I guess boosts up her ego. She knows that her service is of value to all of us that look and seek for threading service which makes her nasty when it comes to hearing a customer out. So basically, every time I go in because obviously I have to since she is the only one here in State and I refused to get my brows wax and there is so much I can do by my self; i come out looking crazy with super thin eye browns that look just like hers?!? yuk. I hate it. I wish she would just listen and know that I just want to have them cleaned and no I don’t want you to cut them. ;/ An annoyed customer.

I scheduled a pedicure there before heading to FL for a friend’s wedding. Before my appt I consulted with my pedicurist to determine which shade(s) I should do to match my rehearsal dinner dress & my wedding dress(not in the wedding). She went through multiple colors on my fingernails to let me see the various options & didn’t make me feel rushed at all. In the end, I went with her suggestion & although I was skeptical at first, it ended up looking really good!(dark purple with gold sparkles. I normally don’t wear gold or sparkles, but I rocked it on my toes!) The pedicure was great — foot soak while she filed & shaped my nails, cut my cuticles & massaged my legs… the whole way up to my knees! I was relaxed during that but to add in that extra«oomph» I turned on my warming/massaging chair & got a back massage at the same time! We chatted a little, but I mainly read my book & relaxed during the time I was there. I’ll definitely go back for another pedicure — even after spending a week on the road with 4 days with my toes in the sand(thank you, FL!), my pedicure is still looking amazing & chip-free! I think the price is a bit high($ 25-$ 28, I think) but I’m used to pedicures in San Francisco which you can find for $ 12-$ 15(max!). Oh well(sigh).

If I could give 3.5 I would but 3 will have to do. I got a cut, underarm wax and upper lip threading. The cut was nothing fancy, just a regular clean up of my hair and redoing the outgrown layers. I think the lady may have cut it a little uneven but when I use a ruler to check, they are fine so I’m not sure about that. The waxing was my first time for underarms and it was hot liquid wax, not the hard stuff which I hear is better for underarms. She had to tweeze but I was still left with hairs. I liked that she chose not to repeatedly wax the same area and leave me bleeding though. I think the threading was the best because it was done by a pro, Leila. She didn’t tweeze and I was left all smooth and clean. I’m satisfied by my experience but not wowed, however I’m willing to give it another try and see how it all goes.

Being new to the area, I was very hesitant to find a place to get my eyebrows threaded, and wasn’t even sure if there was such a place in State College. Luckily I found Leila’s and was very pleased with the results. She did a great job, and had I not moved away, I’d still be a regular there. As someone else said, she did use tweezers along with the thread, but the result was still very good. I’ve had it done both with and without tweezers at other places.

Leila is such a doll. She is a super sweet not to mention beautiful Persian woman who really knows what she is doing. This salon is very pricey compared to other Arab and/or Desi Salons, but one of the few in the area. I trust her with my eyebrows, that’s equivalent to trusting someone with my life.

The lady who threads my brows is a sweetheart. However, the threading is accompanied by a lot of plucking. I was disappointed. I still drive an hour to have her do my brows because I would rather have them threaded than to wax them. She starts out threading and then starts plucking. Normally, tweezers are not used at all. I have had my brows done by several people in different states and they have never used tweezers. :(She does a fair job, it’s not as clean as I would like and obviously I’m satisfied enough to keep driving the hour to have her do them. I’ll keep going here until I find another place.
