Awesome fries and cheesesteak. Cold subs are great too. The guys are nice and fast, this is my go to sandwich spot

Ordered a California style cheesesteak with extra meat. The last time I was here there was not enough meat so I wanted more. These is probably one of the most plain, no flavor cheesesteak I’ve had in a very long time. Was not worth the money at all! The roll for this cheesesteak is so lame, it sucked big time. That’s not funny. They need to get a new roll. I think I could have got a better roll from wal mart. I was at Bradley’s cheesesteaks downtown state college & their cheesesteaks are soooo much better. And they have a killer roll for a cheesesteak. NOLONGERCOMINGBACKHERE. Try someplace different, save you money & time. Better choices elsewhere.

I love their chicken tender subs, and their fries are amazing! My only gripe is that when ordering online through Order up they don’t take credit cards, and when I tried last time to pay with a card over the phone, they couldn’t do it. I’m not sure if this was just thay one time as I usually always have cash on me, but still was inconvenient. Otherwise, definitely give them a try. My friends really like their cheese steaks and Italian subs. The prices are borderline cheap, but what really ends up making it is the amount of food you get, I always have leftovers for another snack or even a second meal.

Many PSU alumns like this place, and I’m into places that people love. Whell, we have been back a few times, and it is a grungy(slightly) place in a strip mall. I think if you order their cold subs you are probably misinformed. If you like the antics of college and college+ sub monkeys, and they are in a good mood, they will be charming and helpful and you will think you were somewhere nice. if you piss them off they will throw verbal shit at you. it is greasy, but nice food. You probably should take advice on what is good and not, as(see cold subs above) some is just pedestrian and some can start to reach towards sublime on a good day. You also probably want extra sauce on most things. Simon’s review is pretty fair. I think I’ll be back and particularly continue to explore the hot subs that the alumns talk about reverently.

Cheesesteaks, big and moist and hot and sloppy. It ain’t a cheesesteak unless you have to use a fork to pick up what fall sout. These cheesesteaks at C.C. Peppers rock!

This place is great! Some of the best food in state college IMO. The prices are very reasonable and the delivery was pretty fast. I would recommend the cheeseburger sub and the pizza rolls. They are fantastic!

The food here, especially the hoagies are really good. The prices are very reasonable and you get a good amount of food. If you like it here, try Pleasant Valley Subs in Altoona.

Decent cheesesteak in WalMart plaza on Atherton. Nothing too noteworthy but fills the void when I need a fix. Usually go with coast to coast beef with sweet peppers, because authentic(with wiz) is disappointing. When the new Jersey Mikes opens(across from Chik Fil A) I probably won’t be back. Online ordering from OrderUp saves a wait.

CC Peppers is a staple for my family. My wife gets a plain steak and cheese, my son gets the chicken fingers and fries, and I always walk out with a meatball sub(though I have been known on occasion to get their California cheesesteak). But do not expect to go in there and get plastic smile service. I don’t know anything about the personal lives of any of the staff, but it’s like being served by a lovable, ragtag group of stoners. The people are as authentic as the food, and that means that they will be generally dismissive while preparing your order. And I love them for it. Too many places in the State College area have revamped in order to appeal to a different clientele. Not these guys. Go for the food, love every bite, deal with it. If this last remaining CC Peppers location ever closes, I will be eternally sad. It’s not like I can just go to Subway. Subway doesn’t have 1⁄10th the heart and soul of CC Peppers.

I have been eating at CC Peppers for years… Everything is always pretty good… Nothing off the charts but decent for lunch. Today was the worse service and food I have ever had at any establishment in my 35 years. We are 2 Miles from the restaurant and it took them 2 hours to deliver our food. Not only did the owner argue with us when we called multiple times but he offered no explanation or any apology for this. The food arrived cold and the bread soggy. The fries were wet and soggy and cold… My drink was watered down from the ice… I feel that this place is going down hill fast. You just lost a loyal customer…

The reviews for CC Peppers are up and down as you can see, but on my trip to State College I decided to gamble, and give it a try. Well this gamble paid off. On our trip our party had both the Authentic Steak Sandwich Combo, and the Italian Sub combo. Both meals were really good. Much better than the crap subway serves up that everyone mentions below.(who knew subway was the staple of subs?) The combos are the best way to go at CC Peppers. A nine inch sub, a huge portion of fresh dropped fries, and a drink for just above 7 bucks, Great Deal! Overall I would recommend stopping in, it’s not the most beautiful looking establishment but the food is good quality, and a great price. I’d stop in again for sure.

I honestly though the cheeseteak was no much different then any other place I have been to(that is, places that are outside of philly) This was kinda the average cheap college sub shop. I felt the meat was dry. However I really liked the rolls and cheese sauce they used! I also got cheese fries(no I was not counting calories, that would be silly) and I was a bit confused why they were called ‘famous fries’…they pretty much tasted like the frozen fries you can buy from any old super market… I swear I could even taste the frost bite.

This restaurant has been going downhill for years. When you have to tell them how to make their own specialties(yes, there is oregano on the California cheesesteak) I’d say it was time to change. This used to be my favorite when I went here but since then they’ve moved out of downtown and seem to have lost quite a bit. Inside of restaurant is run down and in need of paint. The behind the counter help looks like they are just putting in their time.

Had a authentic cheesesteak on Sunday went back to have another on Monday to confirm they are good. Better than the big name places in Philly.

I used to get CC’s when I was in college during PSU football games /tailgates, and they were always delicious. I was recently back in town and decided to come here for lunch with my father, and I was not disappointed. The service wasn’t exactly«friendly», but I mean come on, it’s a sub shop, locally run, by a bunch of what looked like college kids /recent grads… We aren’t talking about McDonalds where they get paid to say«Hi, welcome to blah blah blah». You don’t have to be nice to me, just make my food! My father got the«coast to coast» chicken cheese steak and I got the Italian… A order of fries, and a drink… His sub was a bit messy to say the least, and mine wasn;t much to look at either. The flaor was good… but not 5 star good. I didn’t pay(THANKSDAD) so I don’t remember the exact amount, but I do remember it being pretty steep for 2 subs, 50 fries and a coke. I would recommend comeing here to try a local Penn State tradition, but not regularly,

You know, I really thought that this place was a great deal. The prices are pretty damn low, and they have a large variety. Even so, I felt ripped off after I got my order. This location is right in the shopping center where Walmart is, so you can’t miss it. One day, I thought, well I only have $ 4 and I’m kind of hungry. I could have either gotten a Subway, or go and try out CC Peppers. CC Peppers is basically a grimier version of Subway. The staff are kind of lazy, and look like they walked out of a trailer park. Nonetheless, their sandwiches are cheap… but there is a reason why. For $ 4, their pizza sub was even worse tasting than Subway. I don’t know how you can accomplish that goal, but they’ve done it. There was literally a couple pieces of meat, engulfed with paper thin bread. Sure, I felt awesome when I ordered my sub, thinking that I was going to get a great deal, but boy was I wrong. Maybe I was being a little harsh on this place, so I decided to try it once more. Oh boy. I should have gone ahead and saved my $ 5, because it was the same experience. This time, I ordered the Cheeseburger Sub for $ 5. Sounds pretty hard to mess up right? Not unless you’re CC Peppers. Then it’s like the snap of a finger. It literally had about one ounce of beef in the whole thing. CC Peppers? Take your money elsewhere. Even a $ 5 footlong at Subway takes the crown in this competition.

Nope. The cheesesteak here is not much better than one you can get a Subway. The meat is from a frozen block here. I witnessed this. CC’s puts a lot of oregano on their sub, and almost NO cheese. I had to reread the menu to understand whether cheese was supposed to be on mine. The fries are okay, and so are the prices. Weird pictures and a cardboard cutout of Mr. Bean are there for you to look at while you search for the cheese on your sub.

CC Pepper’s is a decent local sandwiches and subs place. Their subs are large, their prices are reasonable and their julienne prices are pretty much always fresh/hot(try their old bay fries). I’ve been there multiple times and the only thing I’ve consistently liked is their cheeseburger sub. It’s just another local subs/steak restaurant. Nothing special that would make me go there over other places. But if I’m going to the plaza and feel like a sub, this is not a bad place. Just don’t expect too much. Note: their menu is in the website adress field.

I don’t really know anything about cheesesteaks. Case in point, I don’t like Philly-style cheesesteaks. Yes, you read right. You can throw rocks at me now, or whatever. But I really, really love CC Peppers. I get cravings for their cheesesteaks on a weekly basis. I recently moved from State College, and I had a dream about CC Peppers last night. I’m not even joking, because that is what prompted me to write this review. Anyway, I think CC Peppers makes a pretty awesome chesesteak if I do say so myself. I always get the California and substitute oil & vinegar for the mayo. And though I know that’s totally weird, they are the only place ever that hasn’t looked at me like I had six heads when I made that request, which makes me really happy. But people who like real cheesesteaks seem to think they are awesome too, so I don’t think I’m alone in my love of CC Peppers. The one thing you HAVE to get is the cheese fries. The cheese fries are SOGROSSYETSOGOOD. My favorite cheese fries on the planet. I’m a local, and I generally hate the super-Penn-Statey establishments. But as far as greasy local fast food goes, CC Peppers is where it’s at! For some reason, it isn’t too wellknown among students, but it seems to be really popular with old alumni. In fact, I really hate going there on football weekends because you get trapped standing in line with a bunch of old creepy drunk dudes for what seems like eons. Otherwise, the place is usually totally empty. I’m actually legit scared that one day I’ll return to State College and they will be out of business. Please don’t leave me CC Peppers! I love you!
