My son needed a place to live due to the large incoming freshman class of 2015. He selected 21 Apartments based on the proximity to the school, the vacancies offered and the model we toured during spring break. The club house/lobby were so clean and well kept, so I thought initially this would be the case for all apartments. Rude awakening! He ended up with the 4bedroom model. When we moved in during the fall, the apartment had empty alcohol bottles that were left as souvenirs’ on top of the kitchen cabinet’s : — /The screen sliding door was left hanging off the hinge and falling over. Also, there appeared to be no outside upkeep, as doors had scuff/siding marks everywhere. Stairs and landings had black liquid spill marks and trash nearly every step. A serious power wash is badly needed! It certainly did not look like the model apartment we were shown when we took the tour. What truly blew me away was the policy regarding late fee. Every 5 days you will be charged a $ 50 late fee. We were not told this at sign up? The house manager insisted it was stated in policy. This is a very excessive charge for a student housing. I have NEVER experienced that kind of surcharge in my adult life renting any apartment! The location is not bad, but for the rent you pay/fees/up keep, I don’t think he will be coming back to this apartment. What a shame!
