This is the best Mexican food in the area. It is very authentic and great tasting. I lived in Mexico for a while and am picky when it comes to Mexican food and this place is great.

My brother in law’s parents wanted to take my whole family of 12 to dinner. It was a Tuesday so we all headed over. There was no hostess so we stood in the small hallway waiting for someone to help us. Finally a gentleman waiter walked over and we told him how big our party was and he walked away. So we waited about 5 more minutes and they kept taking people as they walked in. Finally another waitress came over and I asked her how much longer she told me that they only have 2 tables to accommodate the size of our party. She said that one had just started eating and the other was done. So we decided to wait for a little while longer. We waited another 10 minutes and the table still hadn’t left. The getnleman waiter came back over and we asked him how much longer and he said he didn’t know and seemed disinterested and walked away. So we left. After this third bad experience I will never go back.

Excellent service and delicious food. Our party of 13 enjoyed our meals and have enough left for another meal at home. All of our servers were wonderful and our primary server, Carlos, was fast and funny. Thank you so much.

This place is awesome. I love the mushroom salsa — very unique. The service is very attentive and the food comes out hot and attractive. I have been here twice and both times were great. The servers were very personable and friendly, but didn’t linger. The descriptions of the dishes are accurate when it comes to the level of spiciness. Love it!

This restaurant was very disappointing. The food was quite good — my wife and I particularly enjoyed the unusual bean/​onion/​mushroom dip. But most of the wait staff could not speak English — so mistakes were made on the order and it took forever to get cleared up.
How difficult could it possibly be to hire local people who speak good English?

Moved here after living in Aurora CO for 2 yrs. After living in Colorado I was so glad to see a place that didn’t use green chili on everything. This place reminds me of the Mexican food I grew up on in Cali, I’ve been here three times since I moved here a month ago the only reason they’re getting a 4 star review instead of 5 is due to the service. The ultimate test for me is that none of the drinks should ever be empty and yet many times my glass has sat empty as the waiter keeps walking by, improve this and I’ll add the last star.

Food was good, but not amazing, as expected by reputation. (The carne asada in my tacos had good flavor.) Service was not. No refills on soda, as stated on menu. When I was finally able to flag someone down after many times of being passed by, I asked the gal if we could get some water, she obviously was put out and looked at me like I was biggest a-​hole ever. Feel like service could be much much better and the price point for the food was higher than should be. Probably would not recommend or go back.

Hadn’t been to this restaurant in a few years and was hearing good things but was very disappointed with just about every aspect of the food and service. Service took forever and the place was not yet crowded. Server acted like we were bothering her by being there. Food that we ordered was not hot, but the plates were. Just an all around disappointing meal for 4 people. Will not be back.

They have awesome margaritas. Chips and salsa are pretty good. My husbands favorite is pollo ala crema and thought it was great.

This place is worth the drive. Love the food. Service is OK and speed is hit or miss, but ohh the food. The steak is to die for. $ 18 is fairly reasonable, but probably the reason I’m not here weekly. A must stop when in star!

Coming from the melting pot that is Northern California, El Mariachi Loco is the closets we can find to home. Everything is amazing! They even attempted to make Chilaquiles. Although I am familiar with a different styles of Chilaquiles, the fact they even agreed to go off menu was impressive; no other Mexican restaurant I’ve visited in ID has done so. The cherry on top is that they are only 1 minute from home! I’m in love!

Good mexican food. Chips and salsa were very good and all our food was well prepared. Service was good and the décor worked. Deduct one star for no carnitas on the menu.

Food was excellent, however had poor service. My girlfriend and are a younger couple and no matter where we go we usually order water. As soon as we ordered water we were put on the back burner. I did receive an apology from our waiter and for that I have great respect.

Great food, great service, and the décor is a visual treat. We ate there the other day, and oh man, the tacos de asada were amazing! Seriously the most tender, juicy, and tasteful carne asada I have had since I left the Inland Empire. We highly recommend El Mariachi Loco for a good, clean, Mexican dining experience.

Great décor without being overdone. The menu sounded pretty good and had a lot of tasty options; it took quite some time to make my final decision. I will have to go back a few times to try everything out that sounded good. The food was pretty good, especially the Mexican rice… it was not dry at all and had great flavor. The chips were fresh and love the salsa & refried been dip. To top off a good experience, the happy hour was from 2 – 6, 7 days a week and the prices for drinks were crazy cheap.

Solid, basic Mexican food. The service is slow, but very friendly. This is NOT fancy Mexican. It’s basic burritos covered in cheese with sides of refrieds and rice. As long as you’re not expecting anything more than the basics, you won’t be disappointed. The margaritas are pretty good!
