After I posted my first review, Evan the owner contacted me the next day to explain and offer his apology. I appreciated his time to contact me twice on Wednesday and then again on Thursday. I was not available the first 3 times he called but was able to connect with him the 4^th time. He apologized and explained what happened so I am happy. He provided me an estimate of the work and also provided a referral to another company that’s in my neighborhood.
I appreciate the call back. I decided not to go with this business as understanding the cost would not be worth it for me to transplant my tree.
If these folks weren’t so far up in Standwood I would definitely give them a second chance with future projects. Evan sounded very knowledgeable and professional. Give them a chance.

They may do an acceptable job once on site however I have no way of knowing since they never showed up for the appointment to give us a quote. When I called to find out if they were going to show they said they had no record of me or our appointment. This in spite of fact that they
returned my initial call and required an email address when I made the appointment. All of this begs the question, if they can’t handle making an appointment, how competent can they be when it comes to the dangerous work of tree removal?

Sonshine Tree Care, Stanwood, WA… Evan is a very knowledgeable, honest and professional arborist. When he came to give us an estimate he took the time to evaluate our trees, promptly sent us a bid, fit us into his schedule and updated his arrival time via email. Our tree is a big asset to our home and Evan took the time to remove all deadwood and rubbing limbs. not a rush job! Even though is was late in the day Evan took the time to grind up limbs that were not on our property. I would not hesitate to recommend Evan to others. he is the best! Sonshine Tree Care — I was fortunate enough to find an excellent company that I would like to recommend to anyone seeking tree care. We were specifically looking for a certified arborist that could help us assess what trees need to be removed from our property. Sonshine came hghly recommended. I should mention that they are slightly different from other service providers. I was immediately impressed when Evan, the arborist from Sonshine, arrived AT THE TIME HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO ARRIVE. This was strange as no one ever arrives at the time of your appointment. I was given an estimate at the time of the initial assessment, which was the removal of 8 trees. Evan took the time to explain how and why each tree did or did not need to be removed and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The estimate was fair and completely detailed and sent to us the very same day.
I received an email re-​affirming their arrival at 8 am for the day of the removal. Here is the shocking part of my narrative, Sonshine Tree Care arrived at 8 am and started working. The tree removal was well orchestrated without any damage to my perimeter fence. He went above and beyond the job requested and proved to be very hard working, considerate, honest and very reasonably priced. We will only be using Sonshine Tree Service from here on out. This should be your first choice if you need a tree service.

I cannot say enough good things about Sonshine Tree Care. When I called to schedule the appointment they were able to get me on the schedule within a reasonable amount of time. Evan was very professional and typed up a very detailed estimate that he reviewed with me so that I clearly understood exactly what services were to be performed. He was then able to send it to me electronically. We got a couple different quotes and he was not the cheapest but by far the most professional. I also felt his quote was much more clear and since there was a lot of detail I felt much more comfortable going with him,
We were able to get the work scheduled quickly and they even showed up a little early for the appointment. They took down about a 35 foot evergreen and pulled out about 7 «firebushes.» They did a great job cleaning up the debris and even went so far as to pick up the little leftover sharp stabbie twigs from the «firebush» that ended up in the yard. This, in my opinion, was above and beyond what the work agreement called for. They came in well under the estimated time and he adjusted the original estimate which frankly I didn’t expect them to do. I was beyond happy with the cost which was less than $ 400!

Very reliable and professional ! I highly recommend them, ! They removed 4 very large trees. The crew was very professional and friendly. They did a great job cleaning up afterward, and their prices were very reasonable. We would definitely use them again.

Just had Evan out last week to take down a 50 – 60 ft. tree that had a nasty lean to it, but Evan put on his spikes and limbed it on the way up, lopped off the top and cut the tree into sizes that I requested. He was quite careful dropping the branches in a predetermined spot taking great care not to hit any of the shrubs nearby. It only took about two hours to limb and buck the tree and Evan left the yard cleaner than when he arrived. He uses nothing but the best in chainsaws and has a massive shredding machine that will handle any amount and size of branch/​tree up to 15″. Sonshine Tree Care will provide you not only with a good price for the work done but will also provide you with all his professional certifications so you know your dealing with someone who knows what their doing and is properly licensed and insured.

I had a grouping of trees that were HUGE (like 100 feet or more tall). They were dead and deteriorating quickly. Evan came and checked them out right away. He knew I was anxious to get them tended to and was able to get them taken care of in less than two weeks! They left my yard in great shape — chipped and removed all the limbs and even stacked up some of the rounds! Besides the amazing service, the cost was $ 1,000 less than the quote I got from another company that was going to be a few weeks before they could get the job done «if his climber was even willing to climb them». I have more work to be done and I know who I will be calling when the time comes!

Evan came out and removed some shrubs and a tree (arborvitae) on our property. He was friendly, businesslike and knowledgeable. His fee was extremely reasonable and his work was efficient and fast. We were compelled by the quality of Evan’s work and his obvious integrity to give him (Sonshine Tree Care) an enthusiastic 5 star rating.

Called Evan about removing and limbing up some trees. His wife promptly scheduled an appointment and called us the day before to confirm. Evan showed up on time and gave us a GREAT price. He knew his trees and didn’t try to talk us into extra work — he just wanted us to be satisfied customers. Since he missed a few branches – because we weren’t there when the work was done – he agreed to come back for FREE to fix that. I was going to get other quotes but after meeting Evan I saw no need to do that. I give Sonshine an enthusiastic FIVE STARS.
