Miyako’s Teriyaki & Wok

Right now this restaurant has a 2.5 rating and I honestly think it deserves better than that. It’s a clean little dining area and they have excellent food for an excellent price. Some people might have had the off bad experience and felt the need to rant about it, but this place is honestly better than its portrayed by the poor reviews.
So I’m grading this on amount of food given for price, how well the food was prepared, and how we were treated.
To start, we paid $ 20 and some change for two dinner orders and two drinks. My boyfriend got the spicy chicken teriyaki which was delicious. It was crisp and not overly sauced, and there was the perfect ratio of meat to rice. I ordered the kung pao chicken. Of the places I’ve tried, this Kung pao recipe was better than the others I’ve had in the surrounding area from Everett to stanwood. They cooked the chicken perfectly, like no other place has been able to, and their sauce is particularly well done. It’s flavorful and spicy but not so spicy you can’t taste anything else. They used water chestnuts, carrots, onion, bell pepper, and peanuts in their Kung pao mix. I tend to like zucchini in mine, but I wasn’t missing it in this mix.
The front person who helps us every time we go in is always very nice and treats the customers right. We’ve been here a couple times, including two take out orders, and it’s always been good eating. They offer a variety of things and the prices are a really good deal.
We’ll be back, multiple times for sure. If you’re hesitant my advice is to try it, you won’t be disappointed taking a chance on this teriyaki place.

I like their lunch special which is chicken teriyaki with steamed rice and salad. Very large portions for a lunch special. Consistently good, never had a bad meal there yet. Very clean, and always busy. This is a good sign to me. Not a lot of teriyaki places in the area, so I’m glad that this one is good! The girl at the front counter is very friendly and personable and easy to talk to on the phone while placing a take-​out order. I’m giving it a four star rating, because no place is perfect.

We’ve become addicted to their spicy teriyaki chicken and gyozas. Delicious food, and the young lady at the front counter was very friendly and welcoming. The prices aren’t bad — we order three meals and it feeds two people for two nights. Can’t get enough of it! There’s no ambiance to speak of, but we get the food «to go» anyway. The place is always clean, too.

If you screw up in order instead of taking it back and taking white rice out of a dish don’t you think it be a little bit more professional to just let the client have the screwup and the extra free rice unbelievable you would make a customer wait why you guys scooped out white rice all while who knows what you did with it all your guys his fault but yet the customer Hass to wait and have you guys scoop out the white rice and replace it with fried rice even though you have a side of fried rice that you screwed up. Whatever I will not be back. Your American girl at the front desk is rude and condescending what a joke.

I went here the other night for dinner, and ordered regular chicken teriyaki with brown rice instead of white rice. I get home, open the box, and what do I have? JUST brown rice. And yes, I did order correctly, as it came out to around $ 9. How can you miss the order that badly? Inexcusable.

Ate here when I was in the area. Great service, counter girl was very helpful with recommendations. Food was really good! Had the Chicken Teriyaki, rice, with salad– dressing was really good too! I liked the variety of menu. Definitely recommend this place, as choices are very limited in the area.

Worst service ever and over priced. I ordered three teriyaki meals and my $ 45 dollar meal was dry and bland. I even ordered spicy and by far not spicy. Will never go back there again. Garbage food.

I only gave this place one star because zero was not an option. However, the place is clean so, there’s that. I only ordered two things, nothing fancy. The first order came out right, the second didn’t. When I took it back up to explain they basically said I ordered it wrong. Ok, no biggie. I asked if I could just get the correct order. The «manager» I suppose came out of the back and told me it would cost extra and then proceeded to ring up the corrected order w out refunding me the wrong one. I asked if I could just pay the difference and she then doubled the amount making the new total $ 23 dollars. What? That makes no sense and when I tried to explain that I had already paid and just wanted to know what the difference was she threw her hands up in the air and walked away from me mid sentence. I understand, probably a language barrier, however the international sign for good customer service is NOT walking away from your customer in the middle of a sentence just because you don’t understand them. I asked for a refund of my second order only and a small box to take my correct order home. I’ll never go back and I’ll let all of my friends and family know not to either.

Good food, fast efficient service.
