One of my favorite burger joints! So lucky to live only 3 miles away! I go easily 3 to 5 times a month and I would highly recommend to anyone that wants a awesome burger.

I adore these types of finds! I feel like Indiana Jones. Attached to a Shell station, where no sane person gases up due to their ridiculous prices, lies a true gem in the rough. Yes the Aladdin of burger joints. The square footage of a closet, this place rocks out amazing burgers and fries! I wanted to try a milkshake, especially since everyone in the place was ordering one, but the digestive system again denied me(learned that lesson). It’s a mute point really. You don’t need it. The burger is perfect, juicy Angus beef with a lovely bun and fresh ingredients. If you are in the area, don’t miss this tiny gem. The bacon cheeseburger is the best I’ve had, and I love to try and find better.

We came in to pick up some dinner and got there right before 4 other people. We then proceeded to wait 40 mins as 3 of the people behind us got their orders before us. The counter lady got one of orders wrong and had a terrible attitude from the start and did not make us feel inclined to ever return as a customer despite the food being decent.

When taking a road trip you want an easy stop to grab a bite and hit the road. Johnny’s is that spot, located right off the exit adjacent to a gas station. The place is small but clean. They have a good burger menu including a chicken burger and a salmon burger. The food is made after you order it so it takes some time, but it is worth the wait for the quality. You can taste the quality in the food. They also have some good looking shakes but we didn’t order any.

Best burgers ever! I also love their special sauce and the chocolate peanut butter shake is sinfully good! Little pricey but well worth it!

This place is right next to a gas station and so at first glance, it looks kind of sketchy. It’s small but based on Unilocal reviews, we decided to give it a try. The inside seating is very small… Just two tables and then some counter space. There is outside seating but it was starting to rain so that was not an option. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. I ordered the Hawaiian burger and the husband ordered the verde burger. Very fresh ingredients, juicy Angus Patties, very good hamburgers! They are extremely messy so just make sure you have some napkins on hand. The fries were big and thick and cooked just right. I also had one of their chocolate shakes which is made from real hard ice cream. The shake alone would be worth stopping for. This place actually reminded me a lot of Boomer’s drive-in up in Bellingham, WA. We will definitely be back when we are in the area again.

I took my daughter up to Arlington for an ACT test, and we looked for a good burger joint afterwards. I liked some of the Unilocal reviews, so we stopped into Johnny’s. Here are some quick tips: Pros: The Burgers are great! They are a little messy, so get extra napkins. They have a dressing that gives the burger just the right amount of kick. The Shakes are exceptional. They call them ‘Premium Shakes’ and they are not joking! I had chocolate /peanut butter. Yum! The location is very easy to get to. Right off the freeway and you’re there. Parking was easy. Cons: Not a lot of indoor seating if the rains come, so be careful on rainy days. It is a little noisy in the outdoor seating area, but not by much. I will definitely be returning.

Outstanding!!! Thank you, Unilocal!Extremely convenient location and fantastic food. I got a chicken burger and my husband got a BBQ burger. We shared a side of fries(1 side could have satisfied 3 people) and per other Unilocalers, we shared a peanut butter/chocolate shake. Everything was perfect– buns were fresh and toasted, the lettuce/tomato/pickle and red onions on each burger were fresh and plentiful. The fries were perfectly cooked and the shake was what dreams are made of. This will be a staple for us during any trips north.

Right off the I-5, this beats fast food hands down. The burgers are full of flavor and enhanced by an honestly good fresh bun! The onion rings, fries, and shakes are terrific, too. I called in an order, as they make everything fresh, and the customer service was friendly and accommodating. Do not be intimidated by the gas station. Truly a nice place.

Found this little gem by chance. Drove here after seeing a taco time sign off the freeway for a quick taco. They dont tell you it is 4 miles down the road. So pulled into here. This burger joint is next to a gas station. Place is always busy and they are cooked to order and not microwaved. My 4th time here. Hand made milk shakes with real ice cream. French fries are hot, burger is juicy and the onion rings perfect. Seeting outside and inside. Go here and eat good!

Without the help of Unilocal,There is no way I would have ever tried this place. At first sight, it looks like a legit pass. It’s attached to a dirty gas station that uses port-a-potty’s as customer restrooms. It’s in the middle of no where. But the food is damn good. Plus its right off the freeway. I feel the fries are seasoned perfectly and cooked pretty well. Just the right amount of salt and the right amount of crisp. The burgers are kinda of a slip and slide mess so good luck if you take your food to go in hopes of eating while driving. But they are pretty juicy and I really like the BBQ sauce they put on the burgers. But, I’m not sure if I was dehydrated or if the milkshakes were actually this good, the strawberry milkshake was literally mouth watering. If I could live on that milkshake alone for the rest of my life, I would go down in a diabetic shock but it might be worth it. Price is a bit high at like ~7 bucks just for the burger but you are paying for a quality product. Pros Food is damn good. Come for the food. Stay for the show of people creeping up to the port-a-potty next door or the cars driving down I-5 Location. Location. Location. Quick on and off from the freeway. That strawberry milkshake is my dream come true. Cons Location. Location. Location. Yeah. That gas station. A tad bit spendy.

Impressed! Was looking for a place to eat up north and close to a freeway entrance. A burger sounded appropriate after the long drive to the tulip festival and shopping at the outlet. Luckily I have a fellow Unilocaler I trust and, another friend that would crown himself as a burger connoisseur. Burger place is connected next to a gas station. Very small seating area inside but a bigger place outside to sit(if it’s nice out). Shared a man-sized bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. Really good beef patty and fresh ingredients. It is a little more expensive as we got about 7 onion rings for about $ 3. I would definitely come back if I’m back up here. FYI, the wait is a little long but it’s bc they make it so fresh! :)

Don’t let the location fool you. When you crave a burger along I-5, this is the place. Tasty 100% beef burger with generous fresh toppings, real milk shakes and crunchy, not the least bit oily onion rings. All served with top-notch service. Just of the interstate yet obviously a hit with the locals too. While enjoying our meal, 2 people came in for to-go orders and I was especially impressed when the elderly vet stopped in for a beer and was greeted lovingly by every member of the working staff. I thought it was going to be a most untraditional Easter dinner this year but I was wrong. God’s light can shine with a really good burger off the interstate!

We came as skeptics, and left as believers. When we first told our friend that we are stopping at a gas station burger place on the way back from the Tulip Festival, she thought she was going to get food poisoning. But this place is clean and has awesome burgers made of fresh ingredients. The sweet potato fries and the onion rings both were fresh out of the fryer. Even though you would expect both to be greasy, but since they only use 100% vegetable oil, they tasted fresh. Their milk shake also are made of real ice cream and fruits. I tried the mixed berries. My friend tried the pb and chocolate, where as another tried strawberry. We were all fairly pleased with our choices. The burgers looked just like the pictures, as one other Unilocaler said. Different burgers are paired with different cheeses. I tried the mushroom burger because it has grilled onions. The lettuce are fresh and neatly packed on the bottom bun. Overall a wholesome, authentic tasting burgers. The register lady calls out everyone’s names when giving you your order. You do need a key if you want to use the bathroom. A great find off i-5!

A buddy of mine told me that this is his favorite burger stop in the land of the deep north. So naturally I had to try it out for myself. It’s located in a unlikely place to find a good burger(connected to a Shell gas station). And though it’s an odd spot and a small dining area the burgers pack good flavor and do not disappoint. I think the beauty of these burgers come from the fresh ingredients. Everything tasted fresh, even the meat(though a bit thin) had a solid round flavor in every bite. I’ll definitely have to come back and try it with a double patty. But over all it’s an excellent burger — and for $ 6.50 a burger it’s not bank breaking. Is it the best burger ever??? In my opinion no… is it worthy of praise and a try? Most definitely. Way better option than most places out there that’s for sure! And that’s why I“ll be back for more sooner than later!
