The Experience here was so Unforgettable that I had to return the second day. The owner of this restaurant had very very very good hospitality, she’s from Naples, she sounds like an Italian, all of her food is cooked fresh no canned goods at all and all of the food was simply amazing. Talk about authentic authentic authentic. This is in a little small town of Stanton Michigan but you have to go even if you go out of your way trust me it’s worth the drive. I will definitely be back. A Buon Appetito a Mamma Mia!

I was looking for lodging around the Greenville area one day online when I stumbled upon information about a combination B&B, antique store and restaurant in the small town of Stanton. Since my partner and I are antique hounds, we thought, «Well, this sounds like fun.» Our travel plans changed, so we never did book a reservation at the B&B…but we did find ourselves in the area recently during lunchtime and decided we’d check out the restaurant. We are SO glad we did! First of all, the food is absolutely delicious, and is the real deal, not Italian-American fast food made with jarred sauce and smothered in cheap cheese. The owner-chef hails from Naples and takes pride in the fact that everything she makes is handmade. We had, respectively, pasta bolognese and eggplant parmesan, and they were outstanding — simple yet good, flavorful, not heavy but made with quality ingredients that were left to speak for themselves tastewise. The eggplant parm was grilled, not fried, which made it especially interesting, and light, and the red sauce was wonderful. The bolognese was rich, mildly creamy, subtly complex. But wait — there’s more. The restaurant is also home to a bakery — just a half-dozen or so offerings: biscotti and other cookies, tiramisu, limoncello-srenched pear cake, Italian cream cake with real Bavarian and whipped creams and fresh fruit– light as a cloud, yet o so decadent. We were so impressed by the food that I immediately got on Facebook and told our friends, «You need to come here! Find a reason to visit this part of the state!» The owner is absolutely delightful. The dining area, part of the old town hotel, is warm and cozy, filled with antiques.(You can go just down the hallway and visit the adjoining antique store.) We had a lovely afternoon here.

If you want real Italian food; this is the place to go. The owner is from Naples and knows how to cook the food just right. I always get the spaghetti; which is so good. Every now and then they have lasagna; which is excellent. I really like the atmosphere and Susie, the owner is such a fun person!

Absolutely fantastic! Such a gem! It’s like you stepped into your grandmothers house, which is in a small village deep in Italy and serves part time as a subtle antique store. Just for a while, you forget you’re actually in a small Michigan town. Everything here is made fresh, from the coffee and the cakes, to the pizza dough and meatballs. Recommendations: * Bruschetta — Hands down the best bruschetta I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating in the U.S. and Europe. * Italian Bread Balls — A unique experience which mixes European bread dough, Parmesan, Provolone, Mozzarella cheese, along with Italian salami and egg, which is then deep fried and served hot. Delicious and worth a try. * Pesto Chicken Breast — Fresh, succulent and full of flavor. The vegetables are on a level by themselves! Dressed with what can only be described as an authentic masterpiece. * Meatballs & Spaghetti — Meatballs that would put your mother to shame, melt in your mouth tender. Not overly flavored, but just subtle enough to tie the sauce and spaghetti together beautifully. * Tiramisú — I can’t even begin to describe this. Best tiramisú I’ve had since it was last made by an Italian. Beautifully moist and flavorful. Just try it. BEAWARE! Everything is made fresh and from scratch by a husband and wife team. If you want Pizza be sure to call two hours ahead of time, same for most baked goods too. If it’s a group over 6 I’d recommend given 3 hours notice. It’s worth it, believe me. If you want something you don’t see on the menu, give 24 hours notice and she’ll cook it. The level of passion here goes above and beyond and will cost you less than a trip to Olive Garden, and never make you want to go there again!

Fantastic food. Fresh and freshly prepared. Had riceballs and tomato salad. Both specials today. Husband had meatballs n spaghetti. Two slices homemade bread. Owner/waitress/cook bit quirky, but interesting. Next table also pleased with food, empty plates. Did not try pastries, but looked good. Antique décor. Will go back.

Probably the best Italian food I have had in my life. I had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. Everything was fresh even the bread. The owner was terrific.

Great meatballs! Special was pesto chicken with potato slices and delicious. The owner does everything and would benefit from having a server. But if you have the time she makes everything fresh and it is top notch. We did not try the home baked pastries but they look fantastic! Love the perky personality of the owner. Definitely worth a try.

Delicious cooked-to-order food. We shared two meals(pesto chicken and a pork entrée) an appetizer(bread balls) and a dessert(pear cake) and all of it… sinfully divine! I’m an out-of-towner, but will definitely return… maybe tomorrow! This is not fast food, but worth the wait. The owner selects only the best ingredients. When she didn’t like the local ricotta cheese, she made her own! And do not forget dessert! The owner is a colorful(and singing from the kitchen) kind of lady from Naples. Meeting her is an experience in itself. I loved it!

The service was a little slow and scattered, but the owner was the only one working. The food was excellent! Some of the best Italian I’ve had. It was like sitting in an Italian women’s kitchen as she cooked for you. I highly recommend stopping by if your going through the area for some of the best Italian your going to find.

Quaint little restaurant housed in the historic Montcalm Hotel. The antique furniture provides a just right atmosphere to match the home cooking that owner, Suzie, dishes out to her patrons. The ingredients were fresh. The portions were just right. The bruschetta was the best my wife and I have ever had! We totally enjoyed our leisurely meal and the friendly conversation with the owner. It felt like we went home to Mamma’s house for lunch!
