This is a wonderful facility for children ages 4 and up. They have age appropriate activities for the all children, keeping the kids entertained for the entirety of the day. There is an emphasis on swimming instruction. They have multiple pools of various depths, and a full lake. Additionally, there are non-motor water crafts, including canoes, paddle boats, kayaks, etc. The camp offers multiple athletic fields and venues. Softball, tennis, hockey, basketball, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, archery. etc. All campers are given the opportunity to participate in all of these sports, both via scheduled activities, and the opportunity to chose further participation of their own volition. They have arts and crafts and«newspaper.» Recently, they opened a brand new lunch pavilion, offering a diverse and nutritious lunch to all campers that addresses allergy concerns, vegetarians, etc. In the past, parents had to provide campers with a lunch, but no more. They even provide rainy day activities in indoor facilities, and from time to time will take the kids to see an age appropriate movie at a nearby cinema. Buses to and from the camp pick-up and drop-off the children from their own homes. Parents simply have to prepare their kids for the day, then wait for them to arrive back home in time for dinner. Very rarely do the buses not run on schedule, and those times are due to unforeseeable circumstances such as traffic or weather. The camp offers multiple visiting days and family days where parents and siblings can come and check out the camp for a day and participate in many of the day to day activities. Campers can show off their new skills, and prospective campers can see what the camp is all about on such days. They even provide a lunch. In all, Jeff Lake is a great day camp and is perfect for younger campers who need activity-rich, fun-filled summers. It’s also a great starting off point for children who may someday be interested in attending a full day sleep-away camp. In fact, Jeff Lake even offers an evening session or two each season to allow the children to see what a sleep-away camp might be like(except for the sleeping over part). My kids absolutely love it!
