Halulu Hibachi & Sushi

Horrible services and food. Will never go back… Didn’t get wine glasses and had to go ask the host … Food had a hair in it and didn’t not taste good. Very disappointing and the place looks dirty.

Best place ever! Can’t beat the all u can eat Sushi. It’s not a buffet bar, they make the rolls fresh to order. Great selection. Our favorites are the Pink Lady, Firefighter and Hot Girl!

Great place great food, one of the few places that still includes rice and noodles in the hibachi price — always fast service and clean ! Ask for Tony hes the best chef there !

We were so disappointed as soon as we walked in. I got a Groupon but read the Unilocal reviews first. I was not too convinced, but I saw that 680 people bought the Groupon and figured it didn’t have many Unilocal reviews so maybe it would be ok. It is wholly outdated, and dirty feeling. Tables are old and very worn. The staff didn’t want to help each other let alone customers. We made a reservation for 7pm and sat at a hibachi table somewhat quickly, although there were four of us and initially they tried to squeeze us with a family that had a full table with two open chairs. They were not having it as we would be completely on top of each other. So we sat at a different table and waited. Waited for 10 minutes and no one came by. As we just looked around saw the way the staff looked, acted and felt we simply got up and left. We were scared to even try the food. If the front of the house was like that, we cannot imagine what the back looked like. And as a final note, when we walked in there was a paper sign on the enterance door that said free refills. That would be strange (unless you’re at McDonald’s) but since I read the Unilocal reviews prior, there was one that complained about the refill policy. That is the restaurants way of resolving the issue? How about just do it, and not write a sign about it… very low class. If you want real and good hibachi, go to Sogo in Denville. We went there tonight and it was everything we expect from a hibachi restaurant and more.

This is by far the best sushi restaurant around. The sushi is always fresh and well prepared. If you have not tried this restaurant and live in this area, and you like sushi, you need to come out one night for all you can eat sushi.

We came for a birthday dinner with a party of 20. The staff was very accommodating and we had a fabulous time! Good service — a fun and delicious experience.

Excellent all you can eat sushi for $ 22pp. Soups, salads, and appetizers also included. The sushi is fresh and tasty, and they offer sashimi as well as sushi at no extra charge. Besides pieces and regular rolls, they also have specialty rolls on the all you can eat menu, and they don’t disappoint. The only downside is they have your group order off one menu, not separate menus for each person, so the sushi all comes out together. Only 4 stars because I haven’t tried their hibachi or regular menu, but a definite must go.

The place is dirty as can be and the bathrooms are even worse. When you walk out of the place your cloths stink due to the lack of hood vents.
With that said the food is awesome and always spot on. It’s BYOB and never a long wait.
If they just shutdown for a few weeks and gave the place a much needed overhaul would really help it. There are a bunch of Japanese places local that are spotless, but they lack in the flavor dept.

The hibachi is fantastic and the people that cook are really entertaining and friendly. It is normally priced for hibachi. You get a small bowl of salad with an Asian dressing on it as well as a small bowl of soup when you order. I have been here a few times and the food and service has been consistent.

You get what you pay for, but what’s not to love about a BYOB place with $ 22 unlimited sushi?

I’ve come about 5 times now for the «all you can eat» sushi for $ 21 you order off a special menu and 3 times for lunch for the Katsu Chicken $ 7. The food is ok to good.
I always sit by the sushi bar when I am ordering the «all you can eat» sushi, I order until I fill up and to be involved in how they make what I ordered, the service is nothing special to write about so don’t expect proper service.
What I hate about this place is when they cook at any of the 7 Hibachi tables the heat, smoke clouds and the smell of the food fill the whole dinning area in the restaurant and destroy the enjoyment of being there and having a meal even at the sushi bar table.
Guess what? The smoke and smell happens every time even if they are cooking just at one of the Hibachi tables in the dinning room area and I always try to go during off hours like on a Sunday at 3pm.
So if you want to eat all you can eat sushi with a better experience for lunch $ 17.95, for dinner its around $ 30 too expensive visit Minado in Morris Plains on Rt 10

Simply put. A $ 25 meal done on the cheap. The salad was shaken from the bag into a little white bowl with a sweet dressing. That’s all folks! The soup was a traditional salty non descript liquid and the hibachi? It all tasted basically the same. Not a great experience for me at all. :-(

I will never visit this place again. Entire meal was overly salty. I was actually looking forward to the salad to cleanse my palate from the bowl of salt soup and what did they bring us? Edamame, which is salty (I happen to love Edamame). Service was questionable with a very long wait after we were seated. It took forever for anyone to come over to even acknowledge we were there. If you love salt this is the place for you. oh and the manager/​owner was less then sympathetic about our concern. His response was «well next time use low sodium soy sauce». POOR customer realations!!!

Got a Unilocal coupon and took my sons out for my oldest’s 18^th birthday. Hibachi cook was great! Food was great! Great time for everyone.
We got the panko crusted calamari as an appetizer… Boy! Was that good! I almost ordered more it was so good!

Went there for their all you can eat and it was well worth it. Great selection that includes soup, salad and appetizers. Everything tasted great! Just be careful not to over order as they will charge you extra. We had about three rolls left and they charged us $ 5. Not bad but could have been avoided if we didn’t get so excited and over order! We will be back!

This place was great. Went here on my lunch break and sat at the sushi bar. My friend and I ordered all you can eat sushi. The sushi was fresh and the service we received was great. I highly recommend anyone to stop in for sushi.

OK, so the service is absolutely deplorable. The food is just sub par. The «all you can eat» sushi is the best deal they have going but despite what you order if they feel it is too much or perhaps you may not eat it they deliberately won’t bring it to you unless you specifically ask for it again. Appetizers come out after the main course is served every time. I’ve been here several times and it’s only been because of the sushi deal but even that won’t get me back now. It’s just awful and their attitude is that they can really care less what you think. Think twice before you decide to ruin your evening here.

This is our 3^rd time here and we love how much food they give you for the price and quality. Yes it is not the most upscale Japanese Hibachi restaurant but it is the most reasonably priced one in the area. Plus they give you A LOT of food and it’s delicious. Especially the hibachi lunches they are by far the best deals. Rugs are damp for some reason and service could be a little faster but for the price it is well worth it! BYOB and they are great for birthdays and celebrations. The hibachi chefs are so funny and entertaining. Will definitely come back!
