The Colonial B&B at Stamford

What can we say? Words really cannot describe how much Flerida, Michael and their son Dominick of the Colonial Bed and Breakfast in the Catskills went so far above and beyond the call making us feel welcome, at home and part of their family during our stays, during our visits and during our conversations. We have stayed at The Colonial both in the Winter and the Summer and visited several times during other seasons as we were preparing for our wedding very close by in Stamford. Flerida and Michael were very helpful in so many ways with local advice, guidance and information for us for our wedding planning. Honestly, we couldn’t have done it and it wouldn’t have been the same without them. We are so grateful!!! When we stayed in the Winter it was so comfy and cozy inside as outside was an unbelievably gorgeous Winter wonderland. Let’s be honest, the place is a grand estate with an incredible huge back space behind the house which could be out of a movie. In the Summer we booked the whole place for my Wife and I and our Wedding party to stay during the time of our Wedding. It was the perfect place to get ready for our wedding and relax before and after. We are so very thankful for the way we were taken with open arms into their family. Not only were they amazing hosts we feel like we have forged life long friendships with them which a rare and beautiful thing to which we are so grateful.
The rooms are cozy and impeccably clean, the beds are so very comfy and all of the amenities are provided including free-​wifi and flat screen with cable TV. The common spaces are hardly common. The living room has a beautiful fireplace and the family room has large, comfy chairs to sink into. The Colonial Bed and Breakfast of Stamford’s architecture harkens back to the days of an early 1900s mansion with a huge grounds including a beautifully manicured back garden grounds with a gazebo where you can even have your dinner or breakfast brought out to you. Oh, and everything everyone in other reviews said about the food is absolutely true. So delicious and more than just simple fair, honestly restaurant quality but better because it is made with love. In fact, there is also a vegetable garden where they harvest what they use in the food they make for you. I know I sound like I am gushing but its because it is all true. Honestly, I can’t say enough and pictures hardly do it justice, it is just something you need to experience in person for yourself. All I can say is relax and enjoy yourself in the loving arms of the Queen of the Catskills The Colonial Bed and Breakfast of Stamford!!!

Nice B&B very well managed and very clean. I stayed here with my husband and we both enjoyed. Breakfast in bed totally topped it off. The food was nice. Make sure to try the blueberry muffins in the morning, those are simply delicious. My only little complaint, I wish there was more potpourri, the room had an old smell which bothered me.

This place is very cool, the hosts will take care of everything and the food is delicious.
