The amount of food coloring used is appalling. Radioactive red paste/gravy soaking the chicken lollipops and making them soggy, the Kashmiri naan(ordered it only as a filler for delivery) also had red color inside for some odd reason. Looks nothing like the pictures. Neither tasted very good. The saving grace was the manchow soup and Hakka noodles. The place is a hit or miss. Stay away from the food coloring!

Just had dinner here with my boyfriend. Pretty good. Cilantro soup. Chicken tikka Masala and shrimp korma. The staff was extremely hospitable. The food was good and the atmosphere relaxing. Also reasonably priced. We walked out to see Tawa was across the street– funny because I came all the way from downtown here to avoid Tawa.

Too bad Unilocal doesn’t have zero stars because that’s what this food was. We ordered two dishes and the chicken tikka masala and malai kofta were the same exact extra greasy, only loaded with 2 ingredients cream and fenugreek gravy, just one with food coloring. The nan was ok. We specified levels of spicyness and they got them completely opposite. We’ve had food here before so I’m surprised it was so awful. Probably a change in chef. Definitely the worst Indian food I’ve had.

Excellent food. Our friends who rent in Stamford took us out to lunch at Tangra Biryani Point. The food and the service was absolutely amazing. The biryani was as good as it gets and even the vegetarian appetizers and entrees were delicious. The customer service was good and the owner made us feel right at home. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for delicious Indian food in the Stamford area.

Not happy with my pick up order at this place. The website says lunch special is until 2:30pm, we place a pick order before 2:30pm and were told that we can’t order because it is almost 2:30pm. So we ordered the regular portion and I informed them to remove the special from their website and they acted like they didn’t know about it. When I picked up food, they didn’t give any forks, spoons, napkins or naan. I don’t recommend and will order next time at the other Indian restaurant across the street.

Do NOT order delivery online. Ordered lunch through at 12:00 pm. I received an order confirmation and the site says to wait 45 — 60 minutes for delivery. So I call at 12:45 pm to see what time my order will arrive. They had no record of my order. I told him it was confirmed through eat24hours. They kept asking me which restaurant I ordered from. So I said this is the phone number I got through the site so this is where my order was sent. I gave them the name and address and told them I had a confirmation number. They said they did not have a record of it and never received it. I’ve never had that happen when ordering from other restaurants on this site, so I don’t think it is the site. Also, wish I checked reviews from other people before ordering. They had a similar experience on another food delivery site. If they don’t know how to use the online delivery sites, they shouldn’t participate in them. I will never order from them again.

This restaurant is an outstanding, authentic, local gem. The cuisine is superb and impressively consistent across the breadth of their dishes. My personal favorites include the Tikka Masala and Korma with either regular or garlic naan. Consider trying the saag paneer which has a pleasantly surprising spice as well as the hara bhara. Dining in is a real treat with an authentic feel and kind staff who were very welcoming to my young daughter. Thank you Tangra Biryani Point for many enjoyable meals. I will continue to recommend you to my friends!

Chicken 65 is perhaps the best item i have eaten in 4 years. the complexity of spices, flavors and care that goes into their food is staggering. The in dining experience i had was solid; where the staff was all very nice, food was hot, beer was cold and the service was on point. Just throw an arrow at the menu. price are very fair for the quality. any Korma is must get. It’s sad to see a couple of people from greenwich give it a one star for a bad seamless order experience — maybe its a tech glitch. I would encourage them to have their driver bring them over to eat-in, or select a closer restaurant to patronize.

The food maybe good, but if the service is bad. I would never return. Lady was very rude over the phone. They screwed up my seamless order and never received it

If I could give 0 stars for customer service, I would. Insane. Ordered on Seamless at 6:55pm; once 8:30p rolled around, called to ask what was going on. No answer. Waited & called back and the woman said they had no record of the order. I told her it was confirmed through Seamless. She put me on hold & hung up on me. Called back several times, no answer. Very unfortunate bc the food is good. I will never give them business again & will make sure that people considering this restaurant know about the TERRIBLE customer service.

Since moving to Stamford a year and a half ago, I’ve been looking for an Indian place that can compare to Rani Mahal in Mamaroneck and Tandoori in PC. I’ve finally found it in Tangra Biryani Point. Although the samosas were rather bland, the chicken tikka marsala was very complex and delicious.

I haven’t Unilocaled in a while, and really don’t like leaving less than good reviews, but I feel like I have to offer some balance to the glowing reviews. We went for the lunch buffet. The pickings were slim, a lot of what they had was running out(including utensils and bowls). We had to ask for both. The décor was run down(electrical sockets taped to the wall) and frankly a bit depressing. The food was okay, but like I said a lot of it was almost out. Maybe it was an off day, but I won’t be returning to find out. So sad.

I’ve been living in Stamford for a few years now and ALWAYS had a difficult time finding something with a desi touch. This place is a godsend, it’s like having Jackson Heights style food around the corner with decent prices and friendly staff. Their chicken 65 and lollipop chicken are fantastic. My wife and I will definitely be ordering from this place again, soon.

I loved it! Lunch buffet was really good, terrific spices, solid selection. I thought the décor was lovely and very clean. The staff could not have been nicer. Will absolutely go back!

Absolutely amazing! I had been ordering from Tawas in town for a while now. More recently it has been disappointing and very inconsistent. I. E. The curry base will be liquid one day then slightly pureed the next. I don’t like not knowing what I’ll get… Especially when plates are 20.00. This place just blew tawa out the park! Perfectly cooked chicken. Awesome Naan. The quality of the food was excellent. Not to mention, the delivery time was exceptional! Just a measly 4 minutes over the proposed delivery time… Nothing compared to Tawas 1.5 hr delivery time! I’ll take it! If you are contemplating switching up Indian restaurants and/or want good food… give tangra a shot.

I ordered the Tikka Paneer. Overall the taste was pretty good, but the consistency of the paneer was on the dry and brittle side. I had veg samosas for app and they would have been great if there wasn’t so much salt. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant and the service was great. Ill try it again sometime and see how it goes

The food is delicious. We tried several items and all were divine. The service was wonderful, and the staff was genuinely eager to please. Don’t let the exterior of the building fool you, this restaurant is nice inside! The parking lot is located in the back of the building, or you can parallel park in front of the building on the street. It’s also located right by a train station.

I came here with three other girls. This is a very cute restaurant and the waiter we had was nice. We had the chicken and vegetable momos(idk if it’s spelled correctly), some fried cauliflower that tasted like general tsos chicken, and I ordered the Rogan Josh with lamb. I forgot what the others had but all I can say is… My Rogan josh was definitely hella bomb yo! Oh and some naan was ordered. I wouldn’t recommend the momos since I t tasted like dumplings(very unauthentic!). To be honest I can’t really comment on other food but seriously that rogan josh was amazing! If I’m ever back in Connecticut then I’ll definitely stop by at this place. Oh… One star has been deducted because our food took about ONEHOUR! I was getting hangry. It might be because one of the girls ordered the special. Who knows.

Good food, good portions. My first time at this restaurant was last year when it was still called Tandoor Village. After they renovated and changed the name, I visited the restaurant again. I wasn’t impressed with the food because it was bland, so I didn’t come back for months. I finally came back to the restaurant recently for dinner, and I was satisfied. The food tasted so good! My lamb briyani was so rich in spices and flavor, and the basmati rice was delicious. Our appetizer, the vegetable samosa, was also delicious. The mango lassi(mango yogurt drink) was so good, my boyfriend and I ordered more to bring some home. Kudos to the owners of the restaurant for improving their food quality. Some restaurants start out badly and make no efforts to change things, but this place went from bland to delicious in my book. The restaurant is small, but they are in the process of expanding into the space next door. It is clean and well-decorated.

I’ve ordered dinner take out from here a few times now. Food is always tasty. My main go-to dishes are Vindaloo, Tikka, Tandoori, Korma, and chili garlic Naan. I started ordering something new and Kadai chicken was my latest dish. It was good, but not as good as Vindaloo. I always ask my dishes to be spicy … and they are not kidding with their spice! That’s why I love this place! Restaurant location is in a quiet side of the neighborhood. When you drive by, it might seem a bit empty, but don’t let that fool you!
