I got two scoops of chocolate ice cream on a hot sunny day. It was great! My only complaint is that the tables outside should be cleaned regularly.

Im happy I had my calorie cannon here(chocolate chip w/choco sprinkles). Place was cute with seating indoors/out. Lady was sweet and helpful. Hard ice cream was homemade and delicious. Definitely coming to try sorbet or Gelato next time.

This is my favorite place to get frozen yogurt — they only have vanilla, chocolate or swirl but I just love both. Their gelato is also dynamite — everything made by them. They have good hours — open till 11 I believe most nights — and the servers are always awesome. Don’t forget to leave a tip in their college fund jar!

This was such a great summertime place back in college 20 years ago! Pulling up the other night I got way too excited seeing the giant ice cream cone outside. It’s still here!!! Not. After we left I noticed it is called Sunny Daes. It was called twisty cream or something like that back in the day. Maybe I’m hallucinating that name, but it wasn’t called Sunny Daes. Clever name, by the way, but Sunny Daes should learn to make better quality hard ice cream.\ Everyone was leaving with sundaes. Smart people. Cover up the bad ice cream with all that other stuff and it’s probably pretty good! This was the WORST hard ice cream possibly ever have had. And the flavors all looked incredible. the place was packed and I was soo happy I ordered the soft serve. Soft serve was not too bad.2 stars. Brownie and peanut butter cup hard ice cream we also got was terrible and rum raisin I sampled — don’t do it!

There’s no better soft serve ice cream(not frozen yogurt or the like) in the world. Ask for the«blue sprinkles» — you won’t regret it.

Good local owned ice cream/frozen yogurt joint with several options to choose from. Many times i have seen this place to be crowded, so parking’s going to be tough, but i think its worth a try atleast once. Staff are usually responsive and business oriented, lacks customer interaction.

This is where you go when you’re too lazy to drive to Friendly’s in Norwalk or Dairy Queen(we live close to downtown but Alive at Five was in full swing at the time). The first girl was nice, but the one who took me and my boyfriend’s order wasn’t as friendly. I got the moose track ice cream, which was pretty good flavor wise but could’ve been churned a little more. However, my boyfriend’s sundae was a disaster. He asked for a typical sundae, minus the banana. We saw our server pumping hot fudge a few times into the ice cream but we didn’t realize just how much until she brought it over. She went overkill on the fudge. So much that my boyfriend just couldn’t it eat anymore. It looked disgusting. It turned the vanilla into chocolate! That just goes to show how much fudge it had. He dumped most of it in the parking lot! I don’t think I’ll ever come here again. I’d rather risk running into the crowd at Alive at Five.

I decided to give this place a try after the reviews. However, I wish I hadn’t tried it out. I got there at 10:30 pm and they were rushing me for my order. I was picking up ice cream for others and they were getting very inpatient. Mind you no one else was in the store. They then began talking about me in Spanish that I needed to hurry up that they wanted to start cleaning up, thinking I didn’t understand. Besides the horrible service the ice cream itself was nothing special at all. We all had an aftertaste in our mouths and we all tried different flavors. The hot fudge had a over heated burnt taste to it as well. Definitely not better than DQ or cold stone in my opinion. DQ is always packed and they are always very friendly and the ice cream is delish. I would never go to Sunny Daes again. The good reviews must be family or friends of the owners bc it’s hard to believe after my experience last night.

I created a Unilocal account just so I could share my incredible experience with Sunny Daes! I called Sunny Daes last Sunday night a little after 11pm(Memorial day), desperately in seach of some frozen yogurt. Considering the hour and the holiday, I wasn’t expecting anyone to answer the phone, let alone for anywhere to be open, but when a girl is craving ice cream she must remain optimistic! Against all oods, a lovely voice answered on the other end and informed me that they were closed but that she would stay open for me because she had to clean up regardless. This benevelovent ice-cream angel then went on to ask me what type of ice cream I wanted. I let her know that soft serve was my favorite and she said that she would leave the machine on for me and, «to not rush, «that she would be there. In my state of shock and excitement that someone would go out of there way to answer the phone at that hour, leave the ice cream machine on for me, and be so incredibly friendly on the phone after what I’m sure was a very long day on the job… I hopped in the car and raced over to Sunny Daes. When I arrived, all the lights were off, but I was greeted by a friendly wave and smile at the front door. The woman so graciously made my 3 sundaes(for myself & friends!) with a smile and kindness that is so rare these days. I wish I had caught the name of the woman who took care of me, so that I could give her the proper credit. Of course I tipped her generously for everything that she did, but good deeds like this too often go unnoticed and customer service like this is pretty much unheard of. To top it all off, the frozen yogurt is absolutely amazing!

The ice cream, gelato, sorbet and toppings are fantastic! Also a huge fan of the old school décor and the fact that it was featured on an episode of «The Big C.» Only thing they’re missing is a few tart frozen yogurt flavors.

Great alternative to Stamford’s famous Dairy Queen. Although, I have not tried their version of a blizzard, their ice cream was delicious! They have huge chunks in their ice cream instead of bits. For example, I tried the small colored sprinkle cone with peanut butter cup ice cream, and the chunks were huge! My bf tried the oreo flavor, and again huge chunks and delicious! I do recommend getting a small size and splitting it. They give very large portions for a small size order. Overall, delicious ice cream, friendly staff, and a great alternative to DQ!

This ice cream parlor is a chain owned by members of the same family. They have great ice cream and great service. They make the ice cream themselves and keep it simple and delicious. I’m lactose intolerant and theirs is the only ice cream my stomach can digest without the usual side effects that come with it. They usually close up around xmas until spring. They’re awesome and are in my opinion better than the Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queens and Cold Stones of the world.
