Springdale Diner has the best coffee in town. I always come here to have either hot or iced coffee. Also, the food is always good. My favorite breakfast dish here is the Irish Benedict(poached eggs with corned beef hash). The steak and eggs were really good. The steak was so tender(at medium well), I could cut it with a butter knife. My only complaint is we couldn’t get any service one morning because we came early and the cook wasn’t there yet. The owner was running the diner all by himself, cooking in the back and serving the food. So, I now come to the diner a bit later for breakfast.

Slightly noisy at times but otherwise, excellent food and good service. Two out of the three servers we have had are very friendly. The train going by and it’s whistle add to the ambience.

My mom and I came here after a few places were closed on a Sunday morning, and it was by far the best choice we could have made! We Unilocaled breakfast in Stamford and Springdale Diner showed up. I had the California Benedict and my mom had the farmers omelet. Both were OUTSTANDING. So fresh and tasty and so filling. I will 1000% be coming back and recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and delicious breakfast.

The banana chocolate chip pancakes were to die for! The chilli cheese fries are also amazing. Friendly and quick service is great. The décor is lacking but I don’t base my review on asthetics. The food is great and at a reasonable price. Get the banana chocolate chip pancakes. Do it.

Best Diner ever! The Springdale Omelet is off the chains and most importantly the service is fast. They have every thing here I tried it all and it’s so good! They are friendly and the place is clean.

Mine and my boyfriend’s favorite diner in Stamford for breakfast. If you want a quick, consistent, basic breakfast, this is your place. My boyfriend and I have come here almost every weekend since the summer. Staff is friendly and polite and they have cholula hot sauce. Also, prices are really good. It’s clean and when I order a vegetarian breakfast, it doesn’t come with a piece of someone else’s bacon order under my eggs. They make really good eggs over easy. Boyfriend likes a their omelets.

Sometimes low down diner food is exactly what’s the doctor ordered. This place has the prescription for that diner food itch. Hidden secret, both the chicken and meatball Parm sandwich are great.

One of the best diner breakfasts I’ve had. Crispy home fries, amazing bacon, perfect French toast, and great sunny side up eggs. Good service and private parking lot.

Pretty good diner in Springdale. Cheaper than Parkway Diner on High Ridge. Gets busy on weekends but what diner doesn’t. Food’s good, service is good, if they were open 24 hours they’d get a five star rating

A good diner is a North Eastern staple, and there are certainly one and five star establishments alike from Jersey to Maine. Springdale Diner isn’t the cream of the crop, but it’s by no means piece of crap. I’ve eaten here 3 times and it’s been consistently satisfying. I’ve never had an issue with cleanliness and have found the establishment to be spotless upon every visit. All the keys are there: Friendly service, decent food, hefty portions, and fair prices. On top of the fact that if you’re a local, or just a frequent visitor to the neighborhood like myself, the convenience factor in terms of proximity for commuters on the Metro North make this diner a sure thing.

Can’t really comment on the cleanliness or service because I placed an order to pick up after doing laundry up the street. After reading some of the reviews I was worried that the food was going to suck, because I’ve had bad diner food before and when its bad… it can be pretty gross. Their food was pretty good. I had a cheeseburger deluxe and my boyfriend had a pastrami special. Both of which were tasty enough that we would go back. The fries were typical diner fries, prices are good and portions are big, just like it should be at a diner.

I have never written a Unilocal review and I made a Unilocal account specifically to write this. I just had a really negative experience at The Springdale Diner. I have eaten here a few times and it has always been fine. It’s cheap and not bad diner food. Today, however, i was treated pretty poorly. I walked in alone and was told to sit anywhere. I chose a booth that was set for 2 people. About a minute later my waitress acknowledged me. Not by coming over and asking how i was or giving me a menu or water, but by shouting at me from across the room in a tone i can only describe as to admonish me «ma’am is it just one?» I quickly realized she was displeased one person was taking up a booth set for 2 people so i smiled and told her i was meeting my fiancé in a minute or two. «Fine» she replied, in a tone which told me she was less than pleased. However, at this point she had approached the booth the drop menus on the table, instead of shouting at me from 10 feet away and embarrassing me in front of a restaurant half full of people, so that was good. I should also make note that there were 4 other booths available that were being cleaned and no one waiting for a table at this time. My fiancé arrived about a minute later and we began looking at the menus. Our waitress walked past us numerous times(about 5 i believe) to drop food off, pick food up or check on other diners without acknowledging us once. Finally she came over and asked us what we wanted(and in her defense it was in a much nicer tone than she had previously spoken to me in– so that was good). i asked for waters for me and my fiancé and she sighed loudly as if to indicate i was asking a lot of her. I then preceded to order. I asked her about a chicken pita sandwich. Below the sandwich it said you could add tomatoes, bacon or cheese for an additional cost. i asked if i could have bacon and cheese added to the sandwich and she told me i could not. i looked up at my fiancé confused and he said«but it says we can add them for an additional charge.» She looked at us, rolled her eyes and said«whatever» in an exasperated voice. I was shunned to silence, my fiancé was not though and said that we would be going elsewhere for lunch. I think it was then she realized she had been treating us poorly because she immediately asked why and then said her«whatever» comment meant«whatever you want», not a rude whatever. I told her i work in the service industry as well and understand customers can be frustrating, but i didn’t think we were acting unreasonable at all and didn’t deserve to be treated poorly. I also said that when someone says«whatever» while rolling their eyes at you it doesn’t normally mean«sure, whatever you want.» In the end our exchange wasn’t rude or heated, no raised voices(although she was a little alarmed we were leaving), but we told her we couldn’t eat there and left. it bummed me out a lot and I won’t go back again.

A cute little diner adjacent to the Springdale Metro North station in Stamford. The diner is our go to for weekend breakfasts. The older staff are more friendly than younger. I usually order an omelet. And really haven’t been disappointed.

Being new to the area, we decided to check this place out. I really don’t know what the fuss is about unless you eat at Morton’s or Charlie Palmer’s all the time. Is it outstanding food? No, but it’s decent food at a reasonable price and it was easy to get in and out. I had a BLT with grilled chicken that was cooked well and was moist. My husband had a wrap that was also good. They also served some great pickles along with our sandwiches. We will most certainly be back. One gripe is they charge for refills of soda drinks. Seriously? $ 3 for two 8 oz(if I’m lucky) sodas is a bit much.

Hi All, I have been to this place 4 times in 10 years… and it seemed to get worse with each visit. It starts with bad service, then you notice the not –so-clean dishes/silverware… and then the awful food. I travel a lot around the country and sometimes when I return, I crave a good Northeast diner. Well… this is definitively not one to fulfill that craving. This could be the worst place I have eaten in the Fairfield/Westchester county area. I am just amazed that it stays in business. My theory is that on weekends, all other diners are sooooo crowded, that they just get the disgruntled overflow customers. The eggs, bacon, bread, pancakes, french toast, bagels, juice, hot cocoa, and coffee were horrible… not one thing is done well here. I couldn’t give a more resounding NODONOTEATHERE!!! Sorry for the bad review, but they earned it, MSZ
