Adorable little hidden gem in Stamford. Single best cup of coffee I’ve had in a long time and was glad they had non-dairy milk options(almond and soy)

Such a warm and cozy place! I stopped by during my break today and got myself a s’mores hot chocolate with churros to pair with it. The hot chocolate was delicious –not too sweet and not too bitter. It was just right! I ordered the churros with the dulce de leche sauce to dip. This combo was exactly what I needed on this cold, windy day. I wish the place was a little bigger so that there’d be more seating. I grabbed a spot on the teeny counter space that they had on the side.

I went to Lorca for the first time with a friend who’s a regular and highly recommended it. I see why! It’s cute and quaint with a nice charm and welcoming atmosphere. It was quiet and empty at 8:30am on Saturday, but very packed by 10:30am. The chai latte and ham & cheese croissant were delicious. Looking forward to bringing my husband, a coffee lover, to what has been a very welcome addition to downtown Stamford.

I only give this place two stars because of the service I got today from the barista. I’ve been a couple of time before and really liked it but today the barista basically refused to make my coffee the way I like it — which is with one shot only. Apparently, their machine can only pull double shots so I asked why she just couldn’t pour half out, I was told«we don’t do that!». ie take it or leave it. I guess the«integrity» of the coffee-making is more important than giving the customer what they want. Interesting business model. She did, however, give me the extra milk I requested. Since there is a dearth of good coffee shops around here I’m sad to give this place a miss from now on. Thank goodness there is still Neat Espresso in Darien where what the customer wants still matters and the coffee is better.

Lorca is always my go to for coffee/something sweet/breakfast any day of the week. They take pride and are passionate in preparing every single beverage and that care comes out in the first sip. I have yet to taste another Mocha/Latte as good as those at Lorca. I crave them on a daily basis! The environment itself is super relaxing and comfortable. The staff goes out of their way to get to know their customers and make them feel a part of the café. Breakfast sandwiches(especially Manchego Sage Sandwich) are served on crusty french bread and always leave me satisfied. Can never leave without an alfajore for later! Now to try the churros…

Guess I’ll be the odd man out here on the glowing reviews. I was in Stanford for an early morning appointment today and looked on Unilocal for a good coffee spot. This place was the most highly rated. I figured I’d pop in and order a few of the basics. It’s charmingly decorated on the inside but the lady who served me was less than charming. She was curt and abrupt. She served me one of the most bitter cups of latte I’ve ever had in my life, all with bitter attitude. I asked for a LARGE cup but was given a standard coffee cup. I took a few sips and threw it in the garbage on the way back to my car. I also ordered a Croissant and had to chuckle. That Croissant couldn’t even stand in the shadow of a basic Costco Croissant. In the garbage it went also. So all I accomplished this morning was throwing $ 7 in the garbage. Anyways rant over… off to Dunkin Donuts I go.

Great coffee spot downtown. The staff is friendly and efficient. I would rather go to Lorca than give the Starbucks down the street anymore of my money. They always have nice pastries — try the chocolate croissant! The place is small and inviting, with only a few small tables to sit and enjoy. I had an iced coffee that was delicious — almost had a chocolatey flavor to it. Next time I will be trying a Nutella Latte. Can’t go wrong with Nutella in anything.

Adorable little spot in downtown Stamford for a fresh coffee. I have yet to find another coffee shop in Stamford to make your latte fresh and deliciously. They also have fantastic churros with various dippings sauces… crème brûlée, nutella, chocolate, etc. This is definitely a hidden gem in Stamford and highly recommended.

Best espressos and cappuccinos in Stamford and maybe even lower Fairfield county. Some of the other treats are average but still much better than other places Great service with happy staff or so it seems.

This is one of the best coffee shops outside of any major city that I’ve ever been to. Honestly, both the brew and food is flawless. They are pulling Counter Culture here, which is one of the top few producers of coffee in America. They, along with Blue Bottle, Stumptown, and La Colombe, are about as good as coffee gets in general. And they really are doing the beans justice, with extremely great barristas and a life-changing almond milk cortado. The alfajores(two shortbread cookies with dulce de leche in between them) are also ridic amazing, as are the churros. They also have solid brewed-to-order tea, great pour-over coffee, and a good amount of seating for the small space. I was just sitting here today thinking that people walk in and out of our lives the way customers pass through a coffee shop. Some come in for a moment and are gone before we even notice them, while others linger for a while, stay near us. To feel at home, to find love, to have a space like this coffee shop is to celebrate this closeness, however brief it may be, however fragile and thin. It is to say that those people who stick with us, who never leave us and never walk away, are impossibly rare, impossibly beautiful.

Morning people. Sounds like an oxymoron. It is not. They exist. They walk among us. They smile before 8am. They go for runs at the break of dawn. They cruelly chirp«Good Morning!» They are not to be trusted. - There are morning people. And then there are the rest of us. Our favorite activity is pressing the snooze button. Our favorite sound is the silence after pressing the snooze button. Our favorite food is whatever we might eat in that weird short dream in-between pressing the snooze button. For«non-morning people», most often referred to as «normal people,» caffeine is one of few legal sources of relief. Coffee, therefore, can be an almost-religious experience. And there is no greater place to worship than at the altar of Lorca. - Be it through a pour-over coffee or an espresso-based drink, Lorca offers salvation to all deprived of sleep. If it be food your hungry soul seeks, a pastry or sandwich shall be provided.* And even if your groggy mind can’t muster more than a whispered«thanks» to one of those angelic baristas, you will always be welcomed back. For this is paradise, and its gates are open to all. *Charges may apply.

A culinary oasis in desolate Stamford. I was in town for meetings and my first order of business was to find a café to maintain my caffeine fix and if possible to work. I did my due diligence and found Lorca. Lorca is a truly phenomenal coffee shop. The space is small but it’s elegantly designed with wooden tables and high ceiling so it doesn’t feel cramped. The espresso drinks are fantastic. The house coffee which comes in a glass carafe is top notch. I drank it black and you could taste the different notes of flavor. I didn’t have a chance to try their famous Churros but I did have the chia truffle several times and it was fantastic. It’s small but packs a punch and fills you up. The staff is friendly and passionate about coffee.

Worth the trip from New York. The churros with dulce de leche were really good. Even though I had only ordered three churros, I could hardly finish them. They are so big! This place has such a warm atmosphere, I would definitely be back.

Hands down the best coffee spot in Stamford(based on my diligent, and somewhat obsessive search for«delicious» coffee). I live in SF and come to Stamford for business several times throughout the year. Living in such a «foodie» city, I’ve become downright spoiled with it comes to good food and drink — and over the past few years, coffee has become one of the areas of my self-proclaimed«snobbery.» Usually when I travel, I set my expectations low for coffee — it seems rare that I stumble upon a cup of joe that meets my expectations outside of bigger cities, such as NYC, Chicago, etc. But alas — I found a heavenly spot in Stamford that understands the love for good coffee, and how to make a cup of joe worthy to quench that caffeine craving! I stopped in twice — once for a shot of espresso and a drip coffee, the next for 2 Americanos(one for«now», one for«later» ;)). The drip coffee was pretty good — no where near as good as I’ve had; but mainly because I like my coffee strong, and it lacked a bit of flavor/punch. But this style of coffee is hard to perfect, so understandable that it wasn’t «wow.» The espresso is — wow, creamy delicious. SO amazing. So fresh. My absolute favorite thing I tried was that shot of espresso. The second time around I had Americano(s) — but I was almost punching myself for going that route, as it just waters down the yummy espresso! I will definitely be back each time I’m in Stamford. I’ve learned my lesson though — to stick to the espresso shots every single time — my personal favorite(and possibly also a drip coffee or a «short» Americano to go)!

I had one of my most favorite cappuccino’s ever here. That’s all I had, which was 5 star worthy. Creamy and delicious! I also had a nice conversation about their La Marzocco with the barista. Nice atmopshere. Felt calming. Best in the area.

Not a Stamford resident, but a friend who is took me here and I loved it! Lorca is a tiny little café serving up handcrafted drinks in a warm, calming atmosphere. Friend and I split a chocolate macaroon latte and churros with nutella dipping sauce. An awesome place to sit and catch up on a cold fall day.

We were coming from a weekend barbecue in New Rochelle and decided to ride up to Stamford. For a coffee break before we rode back to NYC we decided to consult Unilocal. As always Unilocal delivered and we found ourselves at an adorable Spanish influenced café in Stamford’s downtown area. They even had yummy churros con chocolate which we enjoyed alongside hibiscus iced tea and iced horchata latte. It was the perfect spot for an afternoon break.
