I ordered from Lam’s Kitchen last week after a long day at the office. I ordered the hot and sour soup, egg roll and lobster sauce. I like that the food tasted very light, and not heavy on the sodium. I would have preferred by hot and sour soup to have more vinegar to get that«sour» taste, but to each their own.

I gave Lam’s a 2 star review before because I couldn’t see past the ambience: cold, dreary, run down. I was wrong. The food is actually decent, in that wonderfully syrupy, heart-warming and artery-clogging way that only American Chinese food can be. The woman who works the counters is precise and capable, and the food is fresh and flavorful. Get your food to go, tip the lady, and enjoy your bounty.

We stopped by here on the way back to the city. When we pulled up and saw it was a basic take out joint we got worried but were too hungry to think. We ordered the chicken and broccoli, house friend rice, rib tips, and egg rolls. Drank the house ice tea. Now. This food was crazy good. Everything was fresh tasting, and delicious. We all kept blurting out, wow, between bites. The egg rolls were not greasy! the rice was full of mixins! the chicken and broccoli was perfect. I had not eaten rib tips in almost 20 years and this reminded me of why I use to love them so much! If we find ourselves in the area we will definitely stop by!

Not sure why the good ratings here but this is terrible quality food. Not even edible. Guess if you are looking for over fried cheap food, this is the one. Fried rice is yellow… General Tso’s didnt have any chicken or sauce… Hot&sour soup was a bowl of tofu in a thick gelatin. Not that there are great options in Stamford, but this is definitely not one of them.

As I am always on the hunt for good Chinese food in Stamford(in general, as I grew up in Toronto where there is always good Chinese food), I decided to try this place out since it had such high ratings on Unilocal. Let me say — if you are into Chinese American food — then this place will be good for you. But if you are looking for authentic Chinese food — you probably shouldn’t have your hopes too high for this. We had ordered the roasted pork fried rice and the cashew nut chicken dinner. The fried rice was a bit light in taste — could use more flavouring, but what was good was that it wasn’t oily. The cashew nut chicken definitely had more flavour to it. It wasn’t bad, but also not mind blowing. The lunch specials seem to be a good deal.

Great fast food for your Chinese food fix, staff is always friendly and quick with delivery. Not the best neighborhood but soon it will get better with the Yerwood Center renovations.

Stopped here while in the neighborhood, unfamiliar with the area… Unilocal reviews were accurate. Good fast chinese food, not greasy. Interior is sparse as are most carry out Chinese places. Worth a stop, not a destination restaurant

This was our first time trying this restaurant. We ordered delivery and we’re told that they would delivery in 35 minutes. An hour later, I called and informed them it was over 35 minutes and is now an hour from when I placed the order. They told me it was on its way and should be here any minute. It told another 17 minutes before they arrived. Lam’s is 3 miles away. The food was very good.

I’ve been coming to Lam’s Kitchen since the early 1990’s. It’s the best Chinese food anywhere around, hands down! Best dish: Beef with Garlic sauce. There was a period of time after Mr. Po retired and moved back to China when the quality of the food declined and I wouldn’t go. After a few years, however, I went back to find that family had brought things back up to the level that they had once been, and now it is run as well as ever. It’s a family-owned and operated restaurant. The location is not very good, to be kind. It’s not a place to dine in, unless just for a quick lunch. However, it’s the best take-out you can find.

I’m pretty new to Stamford and I realize there is a very limited selection of Asian food places here. Makes me very Asian food deprived. There’s plenty of Chinese to choose from but either their delivery minimum is too high or their food just sucks. Luckily!, there’s Lam’s Kitchen … I think I’ve ordered from them more than 4 times now and they just get better and better.(If you order them from their min is only 10 bucks which is great and realistic! — because who wants to order 20 bucks worth of Chinese food!!!) Food — Ok I know every Chinese«fast food» take out place all have the same menu and selections but how the food comes out is totally a different story. Lams kitchen’s dishes are flavored just right and it’s never too dry or soggy — even their fried rice is good(I recommend the beef fried rice and chicken wings with garlic sauce!!) Why I say«even their fried rice is good» is because most of these Chinese places have really shitty fried rice. The beef fried rice that I always have is moist and the meat is really soft and tender — all you need to add is a lil bit of Siracha sauce and it’ll be a good night. They’re also pretty generous with their shrimps.(I usually eat a lot of shrimp/seafood Chinese dishes) The shrimps they use are not def. not small and they’re cooked really well where it’s not hard to chew/and rubbery. Most Chinese places here don’t know how to do the shrimps or seafood it seems. Another thing I had recently from them is something called shrimp toast — if you’re like me and really don’t watch what you eat but just want to have something good in your mouth — def try the shrimp toast ! you won’t be disappointed but at the same time, I don’t think it’s a very healthy thing to eat often. haha Price Point — very affordable, and as mentioned with the delivery minimum, it definitely can be met. Delivery — pretty prompted but I realize it could be faster since they’re actually not that far from my place and it’s not NYC where delivery guys here drive and not ride bikes… but i guess it’s just the area where things aren’t rushed like now it is in NYC lol Overall — def something I continuously will come back to!
