I was heading to the area for a wedding and a friend of mine recommended I pop in here on my way back north. I am so glad I did! They’re located in a camping general store at the Aquia Campground. I drove in and up, and parked in one of the spots against the main building. The second I walked in the store I was greeted with a hearty hello, and when I told him someone told me to go there for beer he walked me straight to the bar/brewery and started chatting with me about brews and life. I got two IPAs and a Stout as a taster and all three were delicious. My favorite ended up being the stout, so of course I got a growler. No one was there when I was(right at 5pm) but I would love to take some friends there, drink some of their delicious beer and play some board games. My beer spirit guide had to pop back and forth in order to help customers on the camping side of the store, but he was so nice each time and never made me feel like I was getting ditched. You can get your home brew doodads in this little store if you’re s home brewer and hard up to find some! All in all, it was a nice little spot that I would visit often if I lived in the area. If you do live near, please do!

Wild Run is hard to rate because the set up is so very different from other microbrews. They are a campground with the tap room in the store; they brew downstairs. Apparently this was a meeting place for local brewers, but eventually they felt confident enough in the ale they decided to make it into a brewery. If you want a camping ground that serves beer on the side, come here! Or just stop by for growlers to go. But obviously the easiest way to rate them is taste their beers, and luckily they do well. I restrained myself to a single flight of 4(although my notes only have 3). I really, really liked the Zero Dark Thirty breakfast stout. I swear I would pour this over my cheerios and have it that way. Best breakfast stout I’ve tried in a while. I also liked the Red ale. The Amber was OK but nothing especially special.

Great place!!! This place is a true brewery, without all the idiotic frat boys yelling for their team or some kids birthday song being sung every 10 mins. Just you, your friend, and a couple of brews. Cheers!

This is definitely the hidden gem in Stafford. Tucked away inside Aquia Pines campground this little brewery has a good selection of beer and a great little room with a view to drink in. My favorite thing about this nice little brewery is plenty of wonder places outside to smoke a cigar and enjoy your delicious beer.

This is a great spot. The brewery is quaint with a fun atmosphere. There are board games to play while you enjoy a brew. You can taste before you buy which is great. The camp store located in the same building is packed with brewing supplies. This place inspired my husband to start brewing and he’s enjoyed it ever since.

Very nice. They have board games and it was kinda cool to be secluded in the woods. It is just far enough away that you can think your in the woods but your literally right next to Hwy 1 and can’t hear it.

One of my favorite brewerys in the area! The actual brewery is located inside the campgrounds store. They have brewing supplies and camping supplies in the front and the brewery/tasting room is in the back. The atmosphere is like a country store and they have bookshelves full of games and books to keep you entertained. Their tastings come in large glasses and I believe we had a total of 7 or 8. My favorite is the Cherries and cream. The flavor was very subtle but rich at the same time. I also loved their homemade sodas as well. You have to try the root beer if you’re a fan. It’s delish. Also shout out to the how friendly everyone was in the establishment. The young man pouring the beer was super nice and entertained us with conversation the whole time. We had a few different people come through while we were there and everyone was also very friendly.

This is such a friendly place and the beer is really good. Its a great stop on the way home, hours are flexible and you cant find a more relaxing environment in a camp ground. Its just a cozy fun place with good beer.

We went back for a growler refill and was invited to share a flight with a couple at a table, which kind of epitomizes the type of establishment this is, come in a stranger and leave as a friend! A resident of the park joined us as well in conversation, and the barkeep thought we all knew other, we were having such a good time. You’ll come for the beer and stay for the camraderie!

We went to Wild Run today and had 3 pints. All 3 beers were excellent and the price was very reasonable. We live in Stafford and plan to re-visit Wild Run many more times in the future! If you are thinking about checking it out, you should!

I stumbled across the existence of this place on Unilocal about a month ago — and have been trying to find a time to visit for an Ale tasting! I was intrigued by the idea of a craft brewery in a campground — and this one did not disappoint! The tasting room is located inside the Campground convenience store — in a separate room in the back. There is a large chalk board listing all of their brews — the ones with a blue checkmark next to them are the ones that are available that day! I ordered a total of seven Ales to taste(there are more than 7): Cherries and Cream Ale(5.1% ABV) 0311 Pale Ale(5.4% ABV) Rye IPA(6.4% ABV) Sterling Stout(5.7% ABV) Conscription Lager(5.8% ABV) S*M*A*S*H* IPA(6.3% ABV) Fireside Ale(5.6% ABV) We stood at the bar and tasted — the bar is not large — so there are quite a few tables to sit and taste/drink at. Of the seven I tasted — none of the Ales turned me off. But I was especially enamored of the Rye IPA and S*M*A*S*H* IPA, plus the Conscription Lager was really good — which surprised me as in general I am not a fan of lagers. They also make several of their own sodas — my friend Elizabeth tried a couple of them. I tasted hers and thought the root beer was really good, but the cream soda came off as to cloyingly sweet for my tastes. We met Everett — the owner who poured our flights and answered questions. Nice guy. He was definitely kept hopping as he had to run back and forth between the front counter of the Camp Store and the bar — as customers came in. Eventually another staffer came in — I think her name was«Tish» and she helped us out too. Several other locals and campers came in during our visit to purchase or refill growlers, or order a pint of this and that. I really enjoyed my visit here and am looking forward to dragging a bunch of my friends here to try out the Ales and brews!

The beer is really good. I frequently stop in on a Friday night and fill a couple growlers on my way to our friends house. The growlers are always a hit, and consequently they are emptied quickly. There are several choices to suit anyone’s desire. I have plans to start brewing my own one day, and I can buy the needed supplies here as well.

The beauty of finding a place like Wild Run cannot be described but rather needs to be experienced. My brother who lives in Stafford said it best, Wild Run is a really unique and cool spot but people have yet to find it. My advice to the locals and visitors alike would simply be — don’t miss this place. The Sterling Stout is done better than Guinness and has an amazing taste. The cream ale given the name Lawn Mower Ale will renew memories of summer fun even in the dead of winter. The red ale is deceiving in color but glorious in taste. And if there are kids in tow, no problem because there is incredible homemade root beer available. All in all, don’t be intimidated by the weird location(located in Aquia Pines Campground) and turn off Route 1 to try this beer.

Great quality beer near Quantico Route 1. You can fill any growler. Good IPA and Red Ale.
