The country fried sirloin steak was just what I needed! Friendly staff and great environment.

My company did a group dinner. It was the worst service I’ve ever seen at one of these events. In two hours I was only able to get 1 drink. Several people had their meals forgotten. The waitress was rude and forgetful. Overall the expierence was not good. I would not recommend and I will not be returning.

The staff was extremely nice however the food was ok. My aunt had to send her burger back 3 times!!! Whatever you get, make sure you get it as is.

This was my first and last experience dining at Texas SAND& Cattle. I was in the mood for a steak and a glass of red wine so I thought I would try this place out. I was highly disappointed with the food. The steak was very salty, as if it were brined. The macaroni and cheese just tasted like noodles. The cherry topper was the grit or SAND that I got a mouthful of when I took my last sip of wine. At first, I was very alarmed and had to make sure that I had not taken a swig of glass shards. Either the glass was filthy before the wine was poured or something was in the bottle. I let the manager know, not looking for any compensation or hand out, as our $ 75 meal was already paid for. The manager apologized and I insisted that he get rid of the bottle of wine or make sure their dishes were clean. He told me that he checked bottle and didn’t see anything and dismissed me. If he in fact checked the bottle of wine, that leaves the explanation of them serving food and beverages in dirty glassware and dishes. Disgusting! Steer clear! Signed, Still brushing my teeth

We went for a friends’ birthday dinner and will not be returning again. First and foremost, the bathrooms were DISGUSTING! There was no ventilation, so it was hot and smelled so awful. To make matters worse, we were seated right by the restrooms, so every time someone opened the door… it was rough. Secondly, the service was horrible. The waitress acted like we were inconveniencing her. When asked if the nachos were good, she replied, «Well, do you like nachos?» Bread didn’t come out for 30 min. Drinks were always in need of refills. The only time she was kind and upbeat was when we received our checks. Food was meh.

This place was horrible! My bf and I went last weekend and OMG. The crab cakes tasted microwaved, my steak was a horrible cheap cut of meat and it was chewy and fatty! The steak was supposed to be a boneless ribeye but it was mostly fat and no ribeye! Then the oscar topping looked like a flour and water mixture with no flavor at all! How do you have pure white oscar topping anyway? The mac and cheese tasted like stovetop kraft mac and cheese. This is an insult to kraft, but you get my point. My bf’s steak was rubbery and thin like mine. These cuts of meat were horrible. My bf says it’s cheap steak you would purchase at Food Lion!(Remember those stores??? lol!) The only good thing was the margarita I had and the service from our waitress, Sandy. I think that’s her name. She was very attentive and prompt with our orders.

So for the price I would recommend Texas Roadhouse as a better alternative. This place is good, and they do make the food well. The inside of this location is average to below average in style. The location is in the fountains so its easy to get to. I only got the food to go(which was nicely packaged).

I had never tried one of these restaurants… and I won’t go again. The food was just not good. I didn’t expect atmosphere and there was none. Skip this place and find an Outback Steakhouse.

Came here because we were going bowling afterwards(Which is in the same shopping plaza). Also because there was a wait at the other restaurants. So not much going for this place from the get-go… Food wasn’t good at all. Everything was heavy, overly fried and greasy, and way pricey for the type of food offered. Better off just going to McDonalds and saving yourself some money and time to get better food than what you’ll get here.

Ok here is the deal Wednesday they have a bottle of wine half the price so I got Cabernet Sauvignon Flat Rock which is the cheapest but by far not the worst it’s really good besides I got seared ahi tuna entry which was awesome and also asparagus and smoked sirloin which was really really good it looks like it is the signature of restaurant so I really liked what I got and also the service was good so it is a really good deal I am really happy I gave them a chance to have this experience in spite of the lower grades they have got recently.

My most recent visit to TxLC stafford was excellent as opposed to my previous visits. I’m not sure if they have a new manager, new waitstaff, or retrained existing employees, but I’m more eager to return now than before. I’ve only been here about a hand full of times. Their food and service was only okay in the past. Not terrible but not amazing. On this visit, I had a free birthday entrée offer(sign up for their e-mail club!). I misunderstood the full offer but the manager took care of it. I ordered the Filet Oscar with Cesar salad. On the Filet Oscar, I subbed the grilled asparagus for sautéed spinach instead. My steak was cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth and my spinach was plentiful. Wished there were more lump crab meat though. Still worth 4.5 stars to me. My Cesar salad was fresh and crisp. It may be considered over dressed for some, but I like my salad evenly coated. My guest, my brother, ordered the stuff jalapeño and the Buffalo Bill Bison Burger(or something of that nature). The stuffed jalapeño were too spicy for me, but they were good enough for my brother to just swallow like candy and lick the barbecue ranch sauce.(Ok, maybe not lick but he did ask for seconds to add to his burger). I can’t comment on his burger but there were no complaints from him and he finished it, while saying that he’s so full but it’s so good. While waiting for our entrée, we over heard another waiter tell the table next to us that the kitchen ran out of something, avocado maybe? So they will comp another menu item. Now that’s what I call dedicated to customer service! The only very minor issue was that we had to ask for the complimentary bread. It was not automatically offered or brought out. Our waiter, David, was very attentive, professional, and friendly. The Menu’s new? specials look enticing. Kudos to the night’s chef, a big thank you to the manager on duty, and great job, David!

I drive by this location all the time and kept wanting to stop and try it. I love the fountain area next to it and the atmosphere looked very inviting. Unfortunately, the food was only so-so and not worth going back for — maybe try something else next time?!? Service(5 Stars): Best service ever. Waiter was extremely attentive and was helpful with the menu as well. Not just our waiter, but the other waiters in the area stopped by and checked on our table. Bread(5 stars): Warm and fresh — was AMAZING! Salad(4 Stars): The salad was pretty standard(no complaints), but the blue cheese dressing was just alright — I would order a different dressing next time. Bacon-Wrapped Filet(4 Stars): Cooked perfect(medium) and very juicy. At first taste, this steak was very flavorful and what I thought was the best steak I’ve ever had. Towards the end, the flavor seemed to disappear — I guess I started eating from the best end. Loaded Baked Potato(2 Stars): I’m glad I talked my boyfriend to give me ½ his green beans for ½ of my potato. The loaded part was good — everything that would be expected on a loaded potato. The potato itself seemed like it was reheated multiple times — it wasn’t very good. Overall, there are better steak houses in the area. I probably won’t be back for another steak, but maybe will return for drinks at the bar — the wait staff was phenomenal :)

Ladies restroom smells funny… Or maybe it was the entire restaurant?! After a few drinks I couldn’t smell the odor. The bar attendant/waiter was mad nice, like he loves his job type attitude.

Our first experience at Texas land and cattle. This was not a positive experience. Wait staff was horrible. It was so bad the manager noticed and came over to discuss the situation. The sad part is nothing improved after he stated he would locate our waiter. My wife and I both ordered the signature sirloin which were nothing special. The baked potato looked as if it had been reheated about half a dozen times and tasted the same way. My wife attempted to use the restroom and found it a complete mess with no running water. If we had not ordered already this would have had us leave. It just makes you wonder how staff washes up.

This place offers ideal dining, but the sides here are hit or miss. I’ve only been here a few times since my buddy works here, but honestly if it weren’t for the steaks this place would have 2 stars. I wont even review the service here since I usually have my buddy serve if not the manager, but I think they do alright on that? I know the employees here are underpaid and often work for tips, so hook them up! They’re all hard working people, just make sure you order steaks or ribs, not sea food(since its hit or miss).

The little Gal who waited on us was cute but very slow with taking orders. She had a hard time understanding what we wanted. Maybe she was new do I recommend extra training. The food was not that great I would say it’s fair and that’s being nice. I asked for chips and dip the waitress returned 20 minutes later no chips but she asked us to pay. My party of 5 have no plans of returning. I think 2 stars is being generous. Good bye Land and Cattle! It has not been good knowing you and I will not miss you!

This place is incredibly confusing to me. To put the positives first, the food was wonderful. Everything was expertly cooked, the steaks were perfect. Didn’t have a single complaint about the food. The cons. It took over 10 minutes of being seated without a drink or menu for me to get up and ask if we could have someone wait on us. Then, the waitress only came back to our table to fill up drinks if we found her and told her we needed drinks. All in all, it took over 30 minutes just to get our order placed. This is from the time we sat down, not including the wait before we sat. We couldn’t get service. It seemed impossible. Then when it was time to leave, our waitress left. Just grabbed her stuff and left, no idea why. But we had asked for our check and it took 20 minutes to get it. 20 minutes of sitting there and waiting on a check. And when we got it, there wasn’t even a single comp on it, not even a little«we’re sorry!» note. So while the food is great, the atmosphere and the atrocious customer service isn’t worth it. I won’t be returning.

On NYE if you aren’t in your 20’s or made plans way in advance, expect for a bad time in general. So I get it. We made reservations for a big group the day before NYE. So you get what you’re going to get as far as availability. When they said yes it should have raised red flags, because no where else in town had any openings. When we showed up we were expecting at least a packed house, nope about 50% capacity. Yet people were still waiting to be seated!!! They looked to be fully staffed, but no one was to be seen. I think most of the waitstaff was upset they were working NYE. Our servers were awfully slow. It took almost 30 minutes to order because she just kept disappearing. When our food came out it was just plain bad. I have been to other TLC locations and I have never been impressed but it was always at least OK, and on par with other moderately priced steakhouses like salt grass and longhorn steak house. I generally do like their famous house smoked sirloin. But at this location it was so dry! We never got refills and the checks took forever too.

The identity of this restaurant keep changing reflected in the menu w fancy items or upscale presentations. Thankfully the updated blue glasses are gone, and the re imaging has been tailored back after a few months run… but now they have messed w their burgers. In my simple opinion not culinary expertise, it seems the burgers have changed in flavor/seasoning; and also in evidence to a white type dressing /inspired sauce inside. So in opinion, only, I didn’t care for this change. Maybe this new style is part of an overall update from higher ups. Please come back Texas Land & Cattle wherever you are.

#grub From a recent letter I sent to the management… We celebrated our mother’s 75th birthday the other night(Wednesday, Oct. 30) at the Stafford location of Texas Land & Cattle. I had never been so was looking forward to it. I started out with a couple of drinks at the bar before joining the birthday party at the table. The Direct TV was out, so that could have been from the storm Houston had been having, but the bartender said it had been out for a few days. After taking my seat at the table, the evening was disrupted by a fire alarm which sounded for a good 3 minutes before being turned off. My entire party(and I am sure others in the restaurant) was disappointed with flies in the restaurant and despite the manager’s assurance that it was just one(1) fly, it was noted by my party that there were many. I found this totally unacceptable not to mention gross. Needless to say, I will probably not return to this location for a meal as Houston has a lot of good steakhouses with better ambiance and cleaner environs. PS: The food, in my opinion, was just so-so(it wasn’t bad, but I’ve had better) – Note: this is coming from someone that rarely makes a fuss about food quality when dining out. I certainly wouldn’t make a beeline here for the food.
