Good breakfast spot with a homestyle feel. *tejano music in the background* A lot of space so it doesn’t feel crowded. Most of the food was more on the Tex-mex side. Then you have the barbacoa tacos which are the type you would get at your local taqueria. The ordering style is somewhat of a Lubys. Get a tray, order, and pay.

Simply the best authentic mexican I have had eating out! Fresh flour tortillas like grandma used to make! Best Carne guisada ever! Love mixed eggs and the coffee alone is delicious!

Their Huevos Rancheros is the best breakfast anywhere. It’s simple, made to order with fresh ingredients and the best tortillas. My favorite old school taqueria. It is a land mark in stafford where everyone is treated like family. It has been the favorite stop of many locals including Bum Phillips, former head coach of the Houston Oilers.

To me this place has an identity crisis. It’s challenging to even get to, unless you’re coming from the south on Murphy Road. I walked into the expansive restaurant dining area and saw only a few customers at lunchtime. Apparently they do most of their business for breakfast? The atmosphere here is not its strong point obviously. They were playing older tejano music over the speaker system, which coincidently was an older system from maybe the 1970s? I couldn’t really figure out the menu on the wall(behind the serving line) and what types of food they serve, but it appears they mostly have tacos with different fillings in them. Yes, the menu is in English, but it’s not very well presented. I ordered 3 tacos, beef fajita, barbacoa and lengua. Fajita — this comes shredded for some reason and is seasoned beef that has a similar taste and texture to pot roast, not exactly the fajita taste I was craving. The tortilla does appear to be homemade though. Barbacoa — this was the first taco I tried, also shredded beef, but it’s just average in taste. Lengua — this tongue meat comes in large chunks, and you don’t usually see them this big at other taquerias. It was ok but not the best I’ve had Overall, this large hole-in the-wall restaurant was just ok for me. I’ve certainly experienced better, and had much worse. Total cost for 3 tacos and a soda was around $ 8. They do nickel and dime you on a few things though. Refills, to-go cups, etc… etc…so beware your bill may end up higher for this reason. I was able to add beans to all my tacos and this was NOT extra.

I came here recently with my family and my boyfriend. When we were standing in line, I could see a roach crawl under the trays where the food was sitting. If there are roaches in the front, what is going on in the back. My boyfriend had one thing different than I did, the chorizo. Within the hour he was incapacitated and sick in the bathroom. The rest of the day was filled with food poisoning. Would not come back here again.

This was a different place to try. The food was fresh and tasty. They basically have tacos and sides set up cafeteria style. The chicken and the fajita tacos were yummy. The tortillas were homemade. This place is great for breakfast or lunch. They are open from 6 – 2.

We decided to stop here because almost everyday eeeeeeaaaarly in the morning I would see a line of cars. It is straight up cafeteria. And the delicious fresh food reminded me of my grandmas cooking. The portions are hearty, the price is right and the taste is heavenly. So if you find yourself off of Hwy 90 and 1092 in Stafford. Come and chill out.
