I was very impressed with this place! All of their staff is super nice, and made every effort to make my son comfortable. Very quick, but not rushed!

We took my son there on the Sunday in Nov, before Thanksgiving 2015, AFTER I got approval from Tricare. Triage was great, the nurse was very patient and equipped to get my son(who is sometimes difficult) to let her perform her duties. She did everything she needed — and no tears or fighting! Five stars for her! Dr didn’t take the time to listen to anything my husband and I were saying, and went straight for an ear infection diagnosis. Upon follow up with our PCM and Georgetown ENT, we were told the antibiotic she prescribed at KidMed was not a good choice for my 4 year old. My kids have never had ear infections so I was a bit leery as it was. I received a voicemail from said Dr and it was not for my son, it was clearly for another patient she had seen, so I’m wondering who got our follow up call… Fast forward to Jan 7 when we receive a statement and KidMed charged a $ 60 ‘after hours fee’ that Tricare does not recognize. Even with authorization. Ladies at the front desk were actually very pleasant, my husband went in before us and got the check in process initiated and we were in an exam room super quick. The facility is clean and has free wifi; also had a TV with cartoons in the exam room which was kinda cool, not cool was the size of the spider that was crawling across the floor as my son was triaged. But all that is irrelevant. I chose this facility over Patient First simply because they only take Kids up to age 18 or 21, and I thought it would be nice to have someone who specializes in pediatrics over an ER doc who sees anything and everything. Not sure if I would utilize this facility again, too many negatives and not enough positives and I was really hoping it would be positive all the way around.

I realize that people often write reviews when they are unhappy and this unfortunately is another example. Our experience was awful and it wasn’t the medical side of it. It was the rude people who work there from the lady who admonished the front desk clerk in front of everyone to the lady who got caught making a face behind my back when I inquired as to how much longer for an xray. This facility holds itself out to be an alternative to an emergency room facility but they had to «prep» the xray room which took no less than twenty minutes before I even inquired. The problem is the facility had NOOTHERPATIENTS. Very rude staff. If you want to make faces behind the patient’s back at least wait until they are gone.

The doctors and nurses are fantastic; the front desk staff not so much. My kid(20 months old) cries when he enters any examination room, but the nurses and doctors handled him well and were able to calm him down and examine him. I have never waited more than ten minutes in the waiting area. It’s a great alternative to an ER! I would have given five stars, but one of the front desk girls was not helpful and a bit rude.

What an awesome place! I have had to bring my children here for various reasons and have always left satisfied. The doctors and nurses are very caring and knowledgeable. They also have an X-ray machine on site which is wonderful. Follow up calls are always made as well. This is a much better alternative to regular urgent care or ER.
