Not bad, not bad. The tacos were fairly big and good thing I order one taco. I had bacon, potato, cheese, eggs, and chorizo, but it doesn’t amount to Soliz. It was still pretty decent. The bacon was super crispy which is a super thumbs up, I barely tasted the chorizo, the potatoes were not as soft as I expected, and the eggs are just scrambled eggs. The green sauce was a bland, but spicy so it pretty good. I also got the quesadilla with fajita meat for the next day and it was pretty good as well. They were stingy on the meat, and they put red and green bell pepper on one side of the quesadilla.(Odd) If and when I don’t have cash for Soliz, this will be the next closest taco place next to my house.

I finally took my colleague here since he’s always looking for those hole in the wall Mexican restaurants. I couldn’t believe this little taco spot has 4.5 stars, so I had to come and see why. This deli is located inside the Valero at the corner of Kirkwood and Sugar Grove Blvd, just 2 blocks north of 59. I ordered 1 beef fajita taco, 1 carne guisada taco and 1 barbacoa taco and he ordered the barbacoa plate. I requested beans on my lunch tacos, so I think they charged a little more for those but my meal was still around $ 6. It comes with a salsa, so I just asked for both red and green. I thought the tacos were okay, and didn’t really have a favorite, just thought the best part was the homemade tortillas. My colleague on the other hand loved his barbacoa plate and said the green salsa tasted just his childhood days back in San Antonio. He did mention that he didn’t care for the Mexican rice. We may come back one day and try the breakfast tacos.

I had this place bookmarked for awhile. I tried the special breakfast burrito. She asked if I wanted everything on it. Of course I do. So I’m sitting here eating it and it is way too many things inside. There’s refried beans, eggs, sausage, cheese, bacon, fajita steak, potatoes, Pico de Gallo. It’s in the back of a gas station and there were 3 ladies in the kitchen cooking. There is a set of tables they can seat 8 people. Their food is decent. Next time I will order something less complicated. I will definitely try the tacos. They have a steady line of customers.

Charlie’s tacos in located right inside the Valero corner store. I use to go here when I attended school around the areas. Always busy, I believe they make one of the best breakfast tacos, simple but good flavor! Choose either corn or flour tortilla: they both taste amazing. Everything is freshly cooked and made in front of you. Remember to bring cash.

Love their food. Simple, delicious, inexpensive tacos. I’ve been coming here for probably ten years now and the ladies that work there are very kind and always remember my order. Don’t be afraid of their location inside the gas station!

This place is ALRIGHT. Almost 5 star rating? No. On the cool, yall really gassed this place like it was a must try. First off, I couldn’t get over how sus the place was. Totally out of character for me to even consume food from such an establishment. Then the tacos were straight, not mind blowing or anything. You can get these same tacos from… anywhere. It’s Houston –__– Smh hype beasts, we know about you.

The tacos are really good! I love the bacon and bean! Really good breakfast tacos… Rude woman who work there… I guess because I look Hispanic they get made because I don’t speak Spanish… I get that a lot from Spanish speakers… it does aggravated me that everytime I go into that place they always treat me the same as soon as they realize I do t speak Spanish… Luckily rude service never stops me if the food is good enough… And the tacos here are pretty good

This is a typical gas store taco dive. A good place to get your quick taco fix. Been here a couple of times and I would highly recommend it! Don’t be fooled by the two ladies. They will make your tacos to order. It’s a shame that the station is so hidden away, but it’s worth it!

I was totally looking forward to trying out this place… After reading some of the reviews I may have set too high an expectation! I stopped in for lunch since is was in the area. I went with the beef fajita and barbacoa and I have to say, it wasn’t all that!!! Totally over rated! They were okay but NOT nearly as good as described. Especially since I just found an incredible taco truck the day before! I can’t really describe the taste other than just okay. However, I would not be opposed to trying their breakfast burritos or taco! I don’t think I would come back here for lunch as I was very disappointed. Sorry to all the Unilocaler fans of this place. I have to be honest!!!

Being a self-proclaimed taco whore can be a tough job, consisting of many busted belts, stained articles of clothing, and moments of deep lethargy… but Charlie’s Taco makes it worth it, and I accredit them to my ever-growing waistline. Do not let Charlie’s Taco’s seemingly ghetto gas station visage fool you. The 3 ladies inside know how to rock a taco stand. They have held their own for years and continue to grow their space, customer base, and staff. One thing that doesn’t change are the crazy good tacos, with homemade flours tortillas that will blow your cabeza. These tortillas are the truth: perfectly soft yet crisp and translucent in all the right places, showing obvious signs of lard. My go-to order is a medium barbacoa taco with cheese and beans, and a medium TRASH taco. No actual trash included. Rather, you will receive a flour tortilla stuffed with every breakfast taco ingredient they have — eggs, chorizo, bacon, sausage, potatoes, cheese, beans, and pico de gallo. It only costs a few bucks and your dignity. Don’t forget to smother your new found gluttony with their homemade red or green sauce. You can be self-hating AND spicy! I have recklessly made my way through countless taco stands/shops/trucks from the north to the south side. These are my hands down favorite. The boss ladies that run the joint are fast, on point, and producing a near perfect taco. To pay with your credit/debit card, just let them know and they will give you a receipt to pay up front with the gas station attendant. Present your 2nd receipt like a ticket to taco paradise. Sometimes the loveliest diamonds are hidden in the ugliest mines. Although you won’t find any diamonds here, tacos taste so much better anyway.

The address listed is the wrong address. They’re located inside of a Valero gas station. Correct address is: 12404 South Kirkwood Road, Stafford, TX They make the best breakfast tacos around! Our office always orders from them. If you like EXTRACRUNCHYBACONS then visit this place and get your self a BF taco with egg, bacon, cheese, and onions. YUM. sooo good! I’m eating one now. HAHAH

Been eating at Charlie’s for 8 years or so. The breakfast tacos are second to none! they are fresh, cheap, and delicious! My favorite, the potato and egg tacos, are only $.99 each! They make their own fresh flour tortillas, and potatoes! Not just some store bought nonsense. They also serve lunch items, fajita and tortas and such, but I have only ever had the breakfast tacos. Now I will say they can be a little slow here, so make sure you have a few minutes or so to hang out and wait for your food. But I promise it’s worth the wait. Also it’s good to bring cash here. They can do credit cards but you have to take your ticket to the counter of the Kirkwood mart and have them run your card, then take the receipt back to the food counter. It’s not a big deal I guess but again with as slow as this place can be at times, just paying cash quickly can get you out that much quicker.

Wow when you’re on the run… no better than gassing up a valeros. get your road nick nacks and any other convenience store needs about houston, but wait… actual food, not just junk? yes, we know how fast food chains wreck shop in a commuter town with drive thru windows and franchise chains; yet, how can we overlook the mom and pop entrepreneurial livelihood that of this quick texmex joint? check out your fresh, made to order ghetto taco spot that is not in a trailer. and its not really that ghetto. sure, its still on the premises of a gas station, but they have so much to choose from. you have the typical beef, pork and chicken… but try the chicharrones or the texas trash yes basura does not sound too appealing, but who can go wrong when you take everything, put it into 3 tortillas and douce it with fresh jalapeño salsa to wake you up for your morning commute its times like this when anna’s in boston just doesnt cut it and i want to go home
